  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 09:32 PM) Alexei's cannon arm could have come in handy on that last play. Just caught the end of that play...where was Lexi?
  2. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 03:28 PM) Teahen showed TREMENDOUS promise early in his career. The dude looked like he could flirt with 20 homers/20 steals and a +.280 average. But his trajectory is on a severe negative plane and he is producing his worst for our team. Yet, we still run him out there. The player really doesn't look like a legitimate major leaguer at this point. Dunno...thought he's been swinging the bat well lately. Fortunately for him they face 3 righties in a a row or he wouldn't see the lineup for 4-5 days straight. Hard to get in a rhythm when you don't play that much. He hasn't been that awful bad IMO...
  3. if you can't get rid of him...plant his ass on the bench for a week. f*** him.
  4. WTF OZZIE...trying to get back into this race and you go Bruney and Ohman. f*** me!!!
  5. Would you PLEASE get rid of the piece of s*** Kenny!!!
  6. T swinging the bat well...which means he won't be in the lineup tomorrow.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 07:38 PM) Rios actually battled a bit there, but you HAVE to come up with 2 runs in that situation. Hopefully that won't come back to haunt us. Verlander's already in the mid 90's for pitch count. I still can't find anything nice to say about Rios....nothing...ever.
  8. anybody else think Dunn uses too big a bat?
  9. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 07:11 PM) like clockwork SERIOUSLY. Thanks AJ...
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 13, 2011 -> 01:26 PM) Konerko is an interesting one. With his contract and his age contrasted by having Dunn and Viciedo, plus what we could get for him, it would be worth listening to. I almost think Paulie wouldn't mind a trade to the DBags at all...you'd probably have to take back a crappy contract (Zack Duke)...but their farm is rich. Problem is I think they really value their farm and don't really want to purge it. Realistically there's probably only 2 places he'd ok a trade to....AZ and the Angels.
  11. Cano is such a effin' beast! Easily the only Yankee I like. And J4L...it looks nice when it's full (which is rarely)...but it's weird with the roof closed IMO. It is nice tho...
  12. Hello Tyler Flowers...not that Ramon has been even remotely part of the problem...but looking forward to seeing him. Tough luck for Ramon.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 11:36 AM) I've always thought that if the replacement was Cora, you might as well leave Ozzie in place. What doesn't make sense to me about Gammons comment is if they are going to fire him in 2 days, why not pull the plug now? These are huge games. ^^^This. What would be the point other than a shake up? This team run by Cora would be an even bigger snooze fest IMO. Why not make the push for Martinez then? Another guy I wouldn't be too awful upset about talking with would be Don Baylor.
  14. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 01:15 AM) And you still haven't addressed my point about Cooper. And who the hell is balming it *all* on Walker? Do you really have to be so dramatic to try to make a point? ALL of you people defending Walker keep preaching about a hitting coach apparently makes NOOOOOOO difference at all and has no effect on how guys hit, right? So then why are you guys so adamant about NOT firing Walker? This is entirely irrational. If it makes no difference, fire him and hire someone else. Something to potentially gain but NOTHING to lose. Also, by your claims, no coach matters at all and Cooper should get ZERO credit for ANYTHING in terms of our pitching staff. Correct? I feel I have to repeat this since you ignored it earlier. Agreed...kinda silly isn't it? This is my biggest beef. Don't you think players reflect the personalities of their coaches. Ozzie's a different animal...and I think everybody has pretty much excepted the fact he's an enigma. But the personality of the other coaches...zzzzzzzzzzz. Walker, Harold and Cora have the personalities of a house plant. You don't think that rubs off?!? Oh...but they're professionals right!?! Horses***. Tell ya what...do any of you get stagnant at your job? Don't you need a lift?...somebody to stir things up once in a while or intrigue your senses to excel further? I know I do. If I'm bored (which I am completely)...I honestly check out. I collect my paycheck and don't really give a crap about going that extra yard. It gets hard motivating myself all the time. I'm good at what I do...but I get bored and complacent. I need some motivation. So does this team...I just don't see it coming from the current coaching staff.
  15. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 11:35 PM) That was 100% the case, I saw it with my own eyes on TV after the final out. WOW!!!! Completely unexceptable!!!!! Hope Kenny or Jerry saw it...now I'm even more pissed.
  16. Good lord...as is Hamilton didn't feel any worse I'm sure this didn't help: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/break...0,3900360.story
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 11:22 PM) How good can he possibly be then? As in, who does he compare to? I don't follow the Sox farm as much as other teams'. I cringe when I say this...but he reminds me of Orlando Cabrera without the sass.
  18. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 11:17 PM) Lillibridge and a free agent MI could fill in okay for 2012. Defense wouldn't be as good but the return from Alexei would really boost the quality of the minors. refresh my memory...who's in the wings? Escobar and Saladino?
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 11:12 PM) Yeah, it's the same we're paying Quentin this year, basically. Which is why Danks, Ramirez and Quentin are the 3 most desired targets for other teams (not including Sale and Santos). See your point caulfield...but I really don't want to worry about a SS. If the return is good...then ok...but it all depends on the return. I just cant see the Sox getting rid of him unless they are overwhelmed.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 11:04 PM) Better do it now, before he starts making $5+ million in 2012. That's actually pretty cheap for a top-flight SS. He's one I'd hang on too IMO... plus...I'd really rather have him on the team when Dayan is called up. Worth it...
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 10:50 PM) Don't like the report that D. Boston and Edwin Jackson were in the dugout at the end of the game joking around and laughing. Not when you've just lost 30 out of 37 games to your main rival. If that's really the case...there's a big problem down there. Seriously...unexceptable!!!
  22. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 10:47 PM) Id let the new manager select his coaches, if he wanted coop, baines, walker or whatever Id let them make that choice. new coach, he gets to choose his staff, im not getting involved. Hell to the no!!!! I still think their stagnancy is part of the problem. The all go!
  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 10:45 PM) Id be fine with just getting rid of Ozzie and giving all the players a fresh start to prove that they deserve to be on the team. If they dont shape up, anyone I could move would be gone. Unless you get rid of the entire staff (sans Coop)...it won't make any difference IMO.
