  1. Teams never look like they're trying if they aren't hitting. Also, AJ was often lazy on the field. You should watch him "run" out a ground ball or reminisce on all the back-handed passed balls last year. Being an asshole doesn't make you a winner. I love AJ, but he's not Christ reincarnate. Losing him has nothing to do with our struggles.
  2. Unclear if prescribed or not, but that stuff is all over the place in colleges. Not a big concern IMO, just one of many things to consider. He'll still go top 3.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 06:14 PM) How many lefties in that stretch, one? Doesn't matter -- he has an easily correctable flaw going. He's just lunging out, getting his weight on his front foot as soon as he strides. He can't even stay behind a fastball with his weight shift like this
  4. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 06:14 PM) Dan Hayes ‏@DanHayesCSN 35s Tyler Flowers said he was one of players who had meeting. Said it was about getting on same page, had overall positive tone. #whitesox https://twitter.com/DanHayesCSN Surprise surprise.... Hayes also said on his twitter that Flowers has reputation in clubhouse as one of hardest workers. Probably less of a punishment talk and more of a last vote of confidence. Not the "lack of enthusiasm" guy(s) that we're speculating about.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 06:09 PM) Viciedo should against LHP
  6. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 11:18 AM) The funny thing is, how in the world is it warranted? What has Beckham done to make Hawk this giddy about him? Cheese straws. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 05:36 PM) De Aza 8, Ramirez 6, Rios 9, Konerko 3, Viciedo 7, Dunn DH, Keppinger 5, Flowers 2, Beckham 4. Dunn 6th is new. Makes sense to demote Dunn in order to move up Konerko. Wait...no it doesn't.
  7. I'm not thrilled with a Ciuffo either.
  8. Jake

    Dunn?

    3 game hitting streak
  9. This is the face of a baseball player who just felt his career end That was really hard to see
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 08:06 AM) It certainly isn't Dunn. Dunn is actually markedly better the more fly balls he hits
  11. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 11:38 PM) I don't like any of the OFers they're considering. I'm not enamored either. Wilson from Stanford is probably the best of them, but I don't like him compared to the pitchers available.
  12. There's no way LA feels good after these beatdowns.

    6/2 Games

    QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 04:33 PM) Finished 1-5 with a 2b and 4K. I laughed out loud when I saw that stat line
  14. Wouldn't shock me if Cooper is our next manager
  15. How was nobody as amused as me at Hawk reading the at sign?
  16. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 05:06 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/news/chicago-white...utm_source=t.co Just came across this article on Yahoo and low-and-behold, one of SoxTalk's own wrote it. Nice work, Jake. Ha -- that's right! I think we're on more or less the same page, as far as likely targets goes. I was a bit strapped for word length because of course the potential players are endless. I really think we're going with a college pitcher, but you can't be surprised if he takes a guy like Wilson from Stanford. I was fairly surprised that we took Hawkins last year, but of course it was also not surprising. I personally really liked Marcus Stroman.
  17. I didn't think I'd say this a few weeks ago...but soon, we're going to have to find a way to get Keppinger at bats. He's arguably our hottest hitter right now. How are we going to do that?
  18. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 12:44 PM) I feel like De Aza is the one that would be on the bench. But I think it was obvious Rios needed a break. Rios is definitely a guy with questionable effort, or at least has been in the past. Keppinger is hard to read either way. I'm sure it's stuff that goes on behind the scenes that would determine how the staff thinks guys work. Could just be rest for these guys, though.
  19. Hahn talked about holding some players accountable for lack of effort on the radio today -- related?
  20. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 01:32 AM) I'd normally agree, because I hate Boston fans in every sport, but I really do fear the Pens. Boston doesn't scare me for whatever reason. Yes, in hockey terms this is true.
  21. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 1, 2013 -> 08:10 PM) And what has that gotten them? I don't give a s*** what it has gotten the White Sox. It has gotten me far more enjoyment than I would have had as a Royals fan.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 12:26 AM) BOSTON STRONG!!! don't even get me started...
  23. I'm rooting for the Pens. I freaking hate Bostonians, some of the most arrogant fans in sports.
  24. More of a dominant win than the score tells you
