QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 10:33 AM) I'll make sure I won't tell your fantasy team. Wanna know why? IS IT BECAUSE NOONE CARES

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 10:58 AM) The White sox are very good about letting pitchers throw the way they want to and focus more on the grip and quality of pitches. Cooper has often said that it's the results they look at. They only thing I've really ever heard him discuss with mechanics much was balance but this too was more related to being able to throw with command rather than actual mechanics. I like this approach. As a person who has studied throwing mechanics and worked with pitchers, people are far too concerned with minute differences in mechanics. Agree completely. Fairly large mental adjustments can be easy to implement while those minute changes in mechanics can be a big hindrance. Likewise, sometimes an approach change can unintentionally change mechanics for the better.

Tim Anderson retweeted my article on him. I consider that a ringing endorsement

You don't turn 18 year olds into relievers, unless we promised him a Sale-esque shot at the big leagues. The kid has two plus pitches and some scouts like his change and curve as well. He could be an excellent starter. You have to wonder if there is more velocity to get in a conventional motion, not to mention just from growing up.

Check out Phegley's splits. Pretty much the same guy vs RHP and LHP

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 11:57 PM) Really liking this Danish kid....Looks to be someone who could have a bit of a chip on his shoulder after reading this article about his father who was his coach before being sent to and dying in jail. http://tbo.com/list/news-columns/draft-day...ish-b82499461z1 A 0.00 era in 94 innings is rather amazing no matter what level of baseball you're playing. This almost moved me to tears:

Yeah, this ain't over yet. I like the Spurs as a matchup, but I've seen this movie before.

QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 11:00 PM) More often than not, money talks. I'd be shocked if he doesn't sign. Right. We drafted him a round early just for this reason.

Dunn has looked better this past week. Last I checked, his OPS is actually higher than the team OPS. I'm far more concerned about a guy like PK who just looks lost and isn't even hustling anymore.

Don't tell my fantasy team about this. He and Giancarlo are getting too comfortable on my DL

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 10:47 PM) I've gotta say, if I'm drafting I'm trying to maximize my chances at getting an MVP/Cy Young with every single pitch until fairly late in the top 10 rounds. And by pitch, I mean pick

Sox normally don't mess with a guy like this until he struggles. Should be a wonderful experiment.
-
I like it. We should be able to get saving with Anderson pick, plus this guy would only be going pro if drafted in this round. Good stuff.
-
Dunn hitting more line drives means there will be more outs like that. With the way the ball had been flying, very surprised to see that one didn't go. Can't be mad at Hawk for saying what I was thinking.
-
Austin Wilson must have signability concerns, I would think. I hope he comes to us.
-
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 09:40 PM) Manaea and Dozier pretty decent tandem for the Royals. They should get something done with the money they will be saving. I don't think signing Manaea is anywhere near a certainty. Huge gamble.
-
Any chance Wilson could fall to the Sox? (dreaming)
-
My thoughts on the pick will be published soon. Overall, I have to think the lack of good info on him may be related to the fact that nobody was going to Mississippi juco games to do a lot of scouting.

QUOTE (aboz56 @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 08:21 PM) Baseball America: "Tim Anderson could crack next year’s Prospect Handbook as Chicago’s top prospect. If he’s not, it will at least be a spirited debate." http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/2013-...round-analysis/ That says more about Hawkins than it does Anderson.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 08:13 PM) Yeah, some site is listing the right DOB but saying he's 22. I saw that. Confused the hell out of me
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 08:09 PM) Jake, where did you see that Tim Anderson is 19? The DOB posted on the live broadcast. Also, here: mlb.com

I actually love this pick. Really high upside. I didn't like JP Crawford at all. We went for a great athlete, which I like, but we got a guy who makes contact. I think he sticks at SS. Excited for him and a good change of pace from guys that K a lot.
-
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 08:03 PM) Wow, totally thought he and J.P. Crawford were both high school kids. I can't believe Anderson is already 22 years old. He better not take a long time. He is not 22. He is 19. I've seen the incorrect date posted around. According to MLB Draft broadcast, he is 19.

QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 6, 2013 -> 07:10 PM) Man oh man Harold Reynolds is picking up one EASY pay check tonight. Worse than Barkley in the NCAA tournament
