  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 08:20 PM) Good to see Tank is 2-2. Game not on TV or mlb so I looking at box score. Lilly 0-3. WOW. He should be DFAed IMO. He can't hit a baseball anymore. He also made a stupid mistake throwing to the wrong base.
  2. Rios has become my favorite White Sox to watch bat
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 08:15 PM) Other teams have had no problem utilizing them correctly. If you were going to use Ohman tonight, it should have been to face their first two hitters in the lineup. Ohman this year has been no different than the rest of his career save giving up an inordinate amount of home runs, which might be better attributed to his old age. I don't think we were going to use him against that part of the order normally but I think they were saving for Bruney for an emergency type appearance on his first day with the club.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 08:13 PM) The Sox pen has an ERA of 3.78, Milwaukee's pen has an ERA of 4.49, yet this thread has said the Sox have already pissed away the game. I would like to say that my post said "not a good game to piss away" The pissing has only started, not finished
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 08:12 PM) It's useful in our division with guys like Mauer, Morneau, Hosmer, Fielder and all the Indians lefties. Problem is Ventura and Ozzie had no clue how to use them. You just can't use them only as such. Too much dead weight to save him for just one batter when most games you don't need to face a key lefty.
  6. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 08:11 PM) So if Thornton gets traded that leaves us with Ohman and Santiago as our loogy.... not good Thornton is no better against lefties than righties, doesn't make for much of a LOOGY. He's just an effective reliever
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) Bulls***, you don't bring in a LOOGY to face a righty. End of story, that's Managing 101 Jones has been overused and normally that would have been a Brian Bruney/Zach Stewart appearance, but I don't believe them to be available. I think Jones needs some protecting, ie getting to start his own innings until he gets his game going
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 08:08 PM) Ha, Jones can't field his position. This team blows right now in every aspect. Not exactly an easy play
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 08:07 PM) Cause he has the slightest clue how to handle the pitching. It's a big reason for the terrible record in close games this year. Guys like Will Ohman have to be able to get outs in 6th, you don't want Nate Jones pitching in the 6th on a regular basis. Starter needs to make it or else you're choosing between Ohman and Santiago
  10. What the f*** are you doing Brent
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 08:00 PM) He's at Yankees next week....yikes. Hopefully we can get him the win here. He'd have a much better chance if he would just pitch inside and not waste 3 pitches per at bat trying to get a swing and miss
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 07:46 PM) That is huge that most of our guys refuse to walk. Shows again that hitting coaches don't matter. They didn't walk for Walk, either. Drawing walks is not something you're really ever going to teach. You can teach some approach things, but it is nearly impossible to train the tendency to walk
  13. Dylan, good luck in your career minor leaguer goals in 2012
  14. Why Dunn not hit pitches down middle
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 07:37 PM) He was giving up a ton of hits in his AAA game in the 4th. Common mistake, never have Sox prospects pitch in Charlotte. The Quintana Method ™
  16. But seriously, Axelrod needs to pitch inside
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 07:37 PM) Nate Jones please. He's not fooling anyone Simon Castro pl0x
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 07:18 PM) I can't recall specific game-changing plays though. I'm sure I'm forgetting some though, as his offense overshadowed his defense But we can also remember game changing positive plays by Hudson's D as well. He saved a game in Tampa, for instance
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 07:13 PM) And couldn't you also point to Hudson's defense though as helping to put this team in a slump? Also, I don't believe the Sox have won a series since the banner was changed f***in' Steve
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 23, 2012 -> 07:12 PM) When's the last time PK pulled a ball with authority? Seems like he just can't get the barrel on it these days when he tries to pull it. His at bats make it seem like he's trying to get out of that batter's box as quickly as possible
