Steve calls every slider a cutter. It's a slider. I'm gonna go against the grain and say it's not a bad pitch. It's only bad when it is up, like just about any pitch. He throws it up too much.

Behind in the count is not the best place to be. High and middle is not the best place for sliders.

If he hadn't repeated AAA so many times at a young age (maybe we pushed him along too quickly) there would be some major buzz at this point. I'm not eager to make him a big league backup, at least not this year. Next year, at 26, there won't be anything left to prove in AAA.

Matt Thornton is the max I'd trade.

Given the current state of our outfield (Viciedo and De Aza in the long term, Rios for the next few seasons) and the fact we have young OF'ers getting close to MLB like Mitchell, Danks2 (look at his numbers this year folks), and the possible emergence of big talents like Walker and Thompson...I don't see us needing to drop big dollars on this kid. Draft an OF if there's a good one available, sure, but no need to spend 30 mill on this guy.

At this point, I don't see us spending that much on a position that we don't really need now and actually have a few prospects in.

We don't need him yet. I want to exhaust the Hudson/Morel resources before deciding on him.

How long before we look at Jordan Danks as a legitimate MLB prospect? He's 25 and is really looking to be a productive player at AAA right now. Talent is sky high and I have to wonder if some of those poor numbers at AAA the past couple years were because we rushed him. I'm not sure if he should be riding the bench in Chicago.
