  1. Pitching around LaHair isn't the worst idea.
  2. Another good inning.
  3. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 07:28 PM) PK pulling everything on the ground lately. Still doesn't look right. Pitch recognition is for s***.
  4. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 07:18 PM) That cutter has been quite bad at times this year. I understand that he may need it when the curve isn't there, but it should not appear often when his curve is just fine. I actually like him throwing it up and in to the lefties. Way to go Gavin, working out of trouble for once!
  5. Don't deviate from the plan Gavin, keep working inside and using your entire arsenal.
  6. Lucky ass hit, wtf is that shift it's burned us twice in two nights now
  7. Curveball is biting, just nibbling with it. Can that f***ing cutter when the curve is working Gavin.
  8. He's thrown inside to each batter at least once, that's a good start. At least try to do it.
  9. Well we've escaped our first fastball down the middle. Gavin must be feeling frisky, hitting 94 now
  10. Let's go Gavin and White Sox!
  11. I feel better about Gavin because I've seen him be a pretty damn good pitcher for a lot of innings before. I love Humber and it was amazing to see that game earlier this year, but his success consists of something like 20 starts, maybe. That said, I hope they both get really hot and make the decisions difficult in a good way.
  12. Enjoying my new laptop so far. Looks good, runs pretty crisply with a few things running, and getting rid of all the bloatware didn't take too long. Any must-have software for Windows 7?
  13. I wonder if this is the end of the Hudson experiment.
  14. QUOTE (balfanman @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 03:34 PM) When was the last time we ran a bench level 3rd baseman out there? Probably the very 2 we're talking about (Fields & Teahen). I wish we had a bench level 3rd baseman to play there. What we are playing there now are emergency grade 3rd basemen at best. As I recall, why he was not a Gold Glover, Fields defense was not his biggest problem. Hudson's defense so far has been about on par with Fields/Teahen, though Hudson seems to clearly be more talented while also more airheaded. My statement was in regards to this year. It looks REALLY bad if you make multiple moves for a third baseman and every single one is a sub .200 hitter, especially if we keep grabbing them out of nowhere. While Hudson not playing well is embarrassing, there aren't press releases about him every day. When you announce there's a new player, you get new (high) expectations that will be dashed if he doesn't play well. You don't want to set up a pattern of having every new player acquisition play like s***, especially when they are brought in as a starter. I'd rather take our time and find the right 3B than getting desperate and having another schmuck over there. In the meantime, pump Hudson full of all the HGH or whatever fountain of youth elixir you've got and hope he starts hitting.
  15. The last time I went to a White Sox game, I had a great time. Sat behind the home dugout a ways back. This is all despite making a wrong turn and ending up in Gary, Indiana. I like going to minor league games as well, I frequent Memphis Redbirds games while I'm in TN and even go by the Normal Cornbelters here in Pontiac.
  16. John Salley took a big s*** on Michael Jordan on ESPN today. Said MJ doesn't make his top 5 best players, implies that MJ would not have been successful if he didn't have Phil Jackson coaching him, declares Magic Johnson far and away the GOAT
  17. I wouldn't quit being a fan if we traded Thornton for Youkilis, but the thought that those two are playing at a similar level is absurd. Thornton isn't the same guy that was once the best non-closer reliever in baseball, but he's still pretty damn good.
  18. Fields is not a sure bet to hit better and is another hopeless defensive 3B. On one hand I'm all for buying low, but our franchise can't keep running bench level third basemen out there. Hudson was worth a shot, but don't take another equally long shot. Get someone that you know for sure will do at least offense or defense better than Orlando Hudson.
  19. QUOTE (SpainSOXfan09 @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 11:57 AM) He didn't necessarily bring it up but he knew it was a loaded question and even said he would get blasted for it, which is what some of us (Me included) are doing for not focusing on the real issues. He clearly didn't want to discuss it.
  20. This is a stupid thread. We have a $100 million dollar payroll, I think it's fair to say that low attendance will tie our hands in adding beyond that. We have a good enough team to win, they'll just have to go out and do it. And thinking that this 3B situation is easily rectified is the same line of thinking that brought Orlando Hudson here. The league is short on good third basemen.
  21. The guy never manages to play a full season, it's crazy. He may prove worse than Hudson, though he may prove far better. Tough to say really. I have to think Hudson's defense will be better, so Youk better get to swinging that stick like he used to.
  22. The Cubs are bad, but I have to think their winning percentage gets better if they don't move their starting pitchers. They have a pretty damn good rotation despite all of their other flaws.
  23. QUOTE (Disco72 @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 09:28 AM) If he is, KW would be a fool to hold on to him. Unless he's trying to win this year and sell tickets in the near future
  24. I hate the NBA now. LeBron winning is going to ruin ratings for the NBA. The hatred of the Heat has fueled a new interest in the NBA, once they win everyone is just going to get pissed and quit watching.

Time to call Mustain up to the big show.
