I have a feeling Selig would not let this end in a tie.

Odds of Buehrle Going to the Hall?
He'll have to pitch successfully until late 30's and possibly 40, and his best years will have to be now through the next 2-3 years, with some Cy Young-like seasons.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 08:56 AM) I dont know if the link changed but it took me to an article about a girl thinking her mom was getting attacked and it turned out she was just having sex. Thats a much better story. That indeed was the story you were intended to see.

Music
QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 11:51 PM) My iPod lost it's appeal, quickly. I don't even know where it is. I'm too lazy to pick and choose what to load in and then actually input it and then update it. Call me crazy, but it's too time consuming. I buy CDs and play them in the car, period. I just put ALL of my music, regardless of my intentions of listening to it, onto my ipod. If I get a new cd, its a plug and click few minute ordeal to upload it. Another good poll question would be, In what way is the majority of one's music acquired? ie. illegal downloads, itunes store, other paid downloaders, actual cds, etc.

Konerko BAD - Fire GOOD
QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 10, 2008 -> 10:32 PM) Interesting...never noticed that. One thing I do notice when Paulie is slumping...and I know people will poo-poo me...but if you have any of these past 3 games recorded...tell me I'm nuts...but he tips his bat forward instead of being up and down. He was doing this crap last year I noticed too. He has always done that with his bat, it is thought to generate more bat speed and thus power. It is, however, not considered fundamental and makes it harder to catch up to a good fastball, something he never used to have a problem with.

Cubs @ Sox - Game 2 - 2:55 PM 06/28
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 28, 2008 -> 02:26 PM) We suddenly have only two guys under .270 in the starting lineup, Thome and Swisher. Both of which are over .300 in June.

Twins and White Sox Interleague Opponents
Also, when one team actually beats most of the teams they play and the other doesn't, it can make up for the slight difference in win differential, although I admit I don't know for sure how both teams fared in interleague play.

To lighten up things around here...
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 05:58 PM) Pssh. DJ's great. Except for his home run calls, it just doesn't feel right when that happens.

Brian Anderson
QUOTE (the People's Champ @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 03:42 PM) Ok, maybe it was a poor choice to use Freddy because while the Sox knew there was something wrong with him, Philly obviously didn't. But in no way can that be twisted into a comparison between the two players. You are way outta line with that one The Phils also "knew" something was wrong with Gavin Floyd, but they just happened to be wrong about both guys.

Brian Anderson
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 11:33 AM) His full season in the bigs could be considered a bit of a rush, but I can't call it wasted development since he was playing everyday (even though he was getting used and abused). The thing about his "full season" is that it wasn't full. He could hardly get a streak of consecutive games played without sitting out a day for Brian Mackowiak. Not only would that disrupt rhythm, but also perhaps confidence. Another fact that was virtually ignored by the White Sox was that he batted .257 the second half of 2006. .257 is very respectable, especially at the stage of development he was at. But all the Sox looked at was the overall .225, which was concerning but not representative of the strides he made.

Adriana Lima Engaged to Marko Jaric
Lenny Kravitz didn't date anybody who wouldn't go to bed with him. No way. I don't believe it.

Brian Anderson
QUOTE (WCSox @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 10:56 AM) Also, Crede plays a relatively difficult position and does it extremely well. While CF is also very important defensively, there are CFs available who can play the position adequately well and hit better than Anderson. As there were adequate defensive third basemen who could hit better than Crede, hence our fascination with getting Joe Randa way back when. I don't know if BA is the answer or if he will figure it out a la Crede, but you certainly can't write him off just yet. Also to be noted is that BA had a much quicker rise from draft to major leagues, leaving less time to make a prolific impact in the minors. His 2005 season in Charlotte was very good though.

Barry Zito
QUOTE (TCQ @ Jun 20, 2008 -> 01:07 PM) What happened to this guy, there had to be an injury or he was juicin cause theres no other explanation for him losin that velocity Well, the guy pitched more innings than anyone for a while there and at a young age. Might have just emptied the tank, we humans weren't made to throw that ball, let alone that much.

Brian Anderson
QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Jun 21, 2008 -> 07:34 PM) Anderson looks terrible much of the time at the plate. So did Crede when he first came up. Anderson needs big league at bats, and now is the perfect time to give him the playing time. Until I read this post, I had forgotten the years of Crede hate I had. He really struggled at the plate at the beginning of his career, but his defense earned him a lot of extra chances. Even in 2005, his average really wasn't too good and the rest of his numbers weren't eyepopping but since we were winning games it wasn't questioned much. He was a key offensive player in the ALCS and WS though. Nonetheless, once can draw some parallels between BA and Crede although it is of note that BA was not the caliber of run producer that Joe was in the minors. Also, I thought perhaps we didn't bring Owens up since Paulie would be back relatively soon and we didn't want to waste one of his options. That's just a guess on my part though, I don't know how many options he has or anything like that.

Tattoo ideas
Well I'm sure he watched sports but his main passion was motorcycles, he made custom choppers and harleys for a shop in Florida. He was always a good athlete but recreational drug use slowed a lot of things down in his life. The hell of it was he had just gotten clean before he died in a car accident. He was a big fan of Sublime (a band), but I'm not sure how that could be incorporated into a tat. One thing that I'm not sure how to work into a tattoo but always thought was cool was when he was interviewed as a high school football player and they asked him his future aspiration : "Ride forever." He also had many tats, but so many that I'm not too familiar with any of them they just kind of all blended together for me lol.

Tattoo ideas
I'm thinking of getting a tattoo in honor of my deceased brother. My deceased brother was an avid motorcyclist, so I have thought of incorporating that into the tat but I'm not sure. My other brother had an angel riding a motorcycle put on his right shoulder, but I'm not sure that I want something that large. Any ideas?

Sox need another bat
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 31, 2008 -> 10:18 PM) Shields "stuff" is quite mediocre. A solid fastball and a really good change-up. We should have dropped 7 or 8 on his ass. That's what every team he shuts down says after the game.
