  1. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 5, 2007 -> 11:29 PM) I read that as well. If that's the case, I hope they make this the final season. This is by far my favorite show on television, but I don't want this show to ruin a good thing by going on too far. It'd be best for them to go out on a good note. very true...you look at a show like That '70s Show that tried to go on after many of the main characters left, and it got quite bad. I'd be surprised if scrubs went past this season. I just got into the show when Comedy Central started showing reruns, and I'm kinda disappointed I hadn't watched it before that because it's hilarious.
  2. not sure if this has been brought up in the thread, but i heard an interview with zack braff saying that he is "90 percent" certain that this is his last year on the show, even if it continues
  3. QUOTE(ChiSox9 @ Dec 15, 2006 -> 10:23 AM) YASNY, I do realize that ARod and Crede has no bearing whatsoever but I used the example of things players say, ie Joe saying his agent will not get in the way of him signing, that are completely disregarded when a issue of money comes up... hence why i referenced A-Rod and his comments prior to his FA signing. There are some players that would do it for the love of the game (Konerko taking a home town discount to stay with the sox) and their are some that are more intent on the money (Arod negating his comments and going with the most bang for the buck). Only time will tell what column Crede falls into. The thing with Baseball these days is that outside of the season players at times forget about loyalty and those that gave them a chance. Those that are typically loyal to their teams become the face of that team for years to come... people like Damon who WAS the face of the BoSox lost all respect when his agent lied to the Sox about other offers on the table, he also stated he would never play for the Yanks... he's wearing the pinstripes now. All I am saying is in this day and age it is difficult to take any players words for face value! You talk about players showing loyalty, but here's a hypothetical. What if Crede signed a long-term, hometown discount contract here, but then completely crapped the bed after he signed it? How much loyalty do you think sox fans would be showing him if he was back to the Crede of '03-'04, with a .250 or so average and consistently popping the ball up on the first pitch? Loyalty is a 2-way street. Many fans expect players to be loyal to the fans and the team, but if they struggle the fans are usually the first ones to forget about loyalty.
  4. whatever happened to hi-c ecto cooler? it was delicious, and as if that wasn't enough, Slimer was on the box
  5. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Oct 27, 2006 -> 04:38 PM) I was just listenin to Coolio's "Gangsta Paradise" and I came across somethin I haven't seen in years. It's Weird Al's "Amish Paradise." Classic, don't know if it was posted but enjoy. And if your Amish, please don't watch or be offended. don't worry about offending the Amish, i doubt they have computers
  6. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Sep 27, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) Randall 16 in Batavia...late shows are $6.50 anyway, what was everyone's favorite skit in the movie? I think mines was the glow in the dark dodgeball, or the taxi driver going apes*** on 2 of the guys i thought the one where someone was shot out from underground dressed like the devil was hysterical, very clever
  7. If A.J. gets in, it says a lot about our supposed "small fan-base", which will have voted in the final vote player 2 years in a row. Not too many small fan-bases could do that
  8. Not sure if anyone posted this, but they said on espnews that the winners will be announced at 5:30 on sportscenter
  9. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jul 3, 2006 -> 11:59 PM) Gotta love "It's still real to me dammit!" guy. Although I think it pales in comparison to LUGERMANIA! Can you even afford to watch this? I DON'T KNOW! He's one of the biggest stars in this-GOD! And for those 80s wrestling fans, the Iron Sheik discusses Brian Blair and how he "humbles" people "old country" style (NSFW) Anybody remember this "wrestling" match? http://youtube.com/watch?v=UnkrYmBWth4&sea...tterbean%20gunn
  10. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 11:28 PM) I agree, it too me a minute or two to Rebound from this list. However, I think they were just trying to be Bad Boys. They couldn't put so many films from the Black Knight on there without drawing too much suspicion. It is a Thin Line Between Love and Hate for so many of these film choices on this list. It is too bad that they didn't Do The Right Thing, but I guess that's just Life. After all, What's the Worst that Could Happen? At least it isn't a threat to National Security. Man, You So Crazy
  11. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 11:58 PM) the momen this hits theaters i will s*** with laughter. ive never laughed harder than when those idiots were sounding the blow horn on the golf course in the first movie. im sure glad ive got every episode on dvd that i burned, cuz i dont think its ever going to come out. they actually released the dvd about 4 months ago. i think it was like $40 for the complete box set.
  12. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) Alright, then I will take your word for it. Thanks for the info. to be fair, maybe best buy didnt have it out yet, you might be best served taking a trip there if you dont want to take my word for it
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) This early? You went to 4 stores this morning? i went when i got out of class at about 9:30. there was a best buy, circuit city, wal mart, and kmart a few blocks apart and none of them had it
  14. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:22 AM) Im going to Best Buy in about an hour, I will give you guys the good word if they have it, which they should.... i went to like 4 stores, including best buy, and none of them had it. does anyone know a store that would have it for sure?
  15. QUOTE(letsgoarow @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) Peter "boston" Gammons has picket the white sox to win the serires against his beloved red sox......that has to be a good sign. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2005...s?series=boschw funny thing about gammons...he was also on dan patrick this afternoon and picked the red sox to win. patrick even pointed it out later how he picked two teams to win the same series
  16. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) You know what tomorrow the Sox should be in Cleveland by 7:00 Cleveland time, if they win in Detriot the team should by D-ray hats and tickets to the Cleveland game and if the Indians lose they should celebrate the outright division title right there in the stadium. that's the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. i can't think of one legitimate sporting goods shop that would ever carry 30 d-rays hats
  17. it would be disappointing, of course, to not win it all. but that wouldnt mean the season as a whole was a disappointment. nobody gave them any shot at all. i heard all spring that the sox would be lucky to win 80 games, and here they are on the brink of clinching the division and shoving it up the ass of the talking heads on baseball tonight. if that doesnt make you feel good i don;t know what else will
  18. MVP-Tadahito Iguchi-represents the idea that this team was built upon. 25 guys playing for one goal. gave himself up many times for the good of the team Cy Young-Garland, Buehrle, Contreras-ok, its a cop-out on my part to pick 3 guys, but i feel they all helped at different crucial points. garland started 8-0, buehrle dominated from approximately may to early july, and contreras has been incredible since the break Most Improved-Garland-no explanation necessary, i think Most Pleasant Surprise-A.J.-i had my doubts when he came over after hearing all those "cancer" stories. But i have to say i've never been happier to be completely wrong on a player Biggest Disappointment-Marte-remember like two years ago when he was at his nastiest? seems like decades ago. incredibly frustrating Best sideburns-Joe Crede-Hermanson looked like he had this one locked up, but when joe busted out those mutton chops i was absolutely flabbergasted
  19. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) Finally someone else knows whats going on thank you. to be fair, i have a lot of free time on my hands to figure out thses scenarios. remember russell crow in beautiful mind with all the newspapers in the garage? well, i don;t have a garage, but its the same basic premise. now let's finish this thing tomorrow!!!!!!!!
  20. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) Alright here: A White Sox win or Yankees loss and we're in. A White Sox win and an Indians or Red Sox loss and we win the division. I'm positive guys, look it up if you want. it doesnt matter if the red sox win or not. its simple logic. if the sox win tomorrow they clinch not only a playoff berth but a tie for the division, correct? since the best cleveland could do then is tie us, and since in this hypothetical situation the tribe has tied us and the sox have clinched a berth, that means the indians clinch a berth too. and because both teams would already be in, the sox would be awarded the division with a win tomorrow, no matter what happens the rest of the year with boston and cleveland
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) Thanks guys, after all this time following the sox I forget who was in our division. Listen, if us and the Indians are tied but both of these teams are in the playoffs, there is NO 1 game playoff then the division winner is determined by head to head which our sox have clinched. Meaning if the we win tomorrow and the Bosox lose they can't finish better then us and if the Indians were to win out, we tie for the division but the bosox are left out because of this, we win the division. it doesnt matter if the red sox win their next 4 games by 100 runs. even if they finish with a better record, it won't matter because as we all know by now, the sox clinch at least a playoff berth with a win tomorrow. even if the red sox win out, even if the tribe wins out, the sox would still be division champs with a win TOMORROW!!!, due to the fact that they would have already clinched a berth and the season series vs. the indians
  22. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:39 PM) Looking ahead to tomorrow if the Sox win and the Indians lose The Sox play at noon and the Indians play at night so if the Sox clinch tomorrow their will be no locker celebration on TV, that sucks. but if my theory is right, and i truly believe it is, couldnt the sox celebrate with a win because they would be playoff bound as division champs? personally, i could care less about a celebration tomorrow. although it would be nice, i want to see a party in about 3 weeks
  23. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) I just looked it up on MLB.com. They have changed the rules. If the Yankees lose, we clinch a playoff spot regardless of what else happens. that's not a rule change, that's just that if the yanks lose our magic number over the red sox and yanks will be 2 a piece, and since one of them must lose 2 over the wkend, the sox clinch a spot. but that wasnt what i was refering to about rule changes
  24. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) The Red Sox have nothing to do with our division. Here it is: The Magic Number is 2 If the Sox win tomorrow, but Cleveland wins: The Sox clinch at least a tie for the Division. With the magic number at 1 If the Season ends in identical records, the Sox will play Cleveland in a one-game playoff in Cleveland. The winner wins the division. If the Sox win and Cleveland loses: The White Sox are central division champs! sorry, but i have to disagree. unless they changed the rules, they don't play a one-game playoff to determine the difference between the wc and div. champ. they just go by the head-to-head record. wouldn't it be pointless to send out contreras to try and win a one-game playoff when a playoff spot was already wrapped up?
