  1. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 21, 2007 -> 06:22 PM) Somehow I doubt this, that sort of a role seems to be beneath him at this point. Where did you read this rumor? nevermind, I found it: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=39503 I will believe it when I see it. Rescuing Batman is one thing, that franchise was dead in the water for 8+ years. The Terminator series came out with a movie just a few years back. And it sucked. bad. Oh, believe me, I hope it isn't true either. It'd be one thing if I thought there was a great director at the helm, but, shockingly, I doubt that McG, the guy who made the masterpieces that are the Charlie's Angels movies, can resurrect this franchise either. Plus, what's the point of making another Terminator movie without the Governator?
  2. I didn't even know they were making another Terminator movie, but they are...and word is Christian Bale is going to play the grown-up John Connor.
  3. Here's a stupid question...the WWE has creative writers, right? Would they be affected by the ongoing Writers' Guild strike?
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 31, 2007 -> 12:04 AM) From www.whysoserious.com: It's a treasure hunt. There's like 20 more for other major cities in the U.S. The scavenger hunt revealed a message. If you go to the site, you can read the message, as well as see a brand-new photo of Heath Ledger as the Joker.
  5. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 4, 2007 -> 08:50 AM) sort of a trivia question, i dont know if any of you would know the answer: Is this the first time that 4 teams have made the playoffs that were not in the playoffs the previous year(since the wildcard expansion)? I cant remember if this is unique or not, the braves were in the playoffs for something like 15 straight years, so it would have been relatively recent if it ever happened Not only the N.L., but the A.L. playoffs have 3 teams who weren't in in last year. So in total, 7 of the 8 teams did not go to the playoffs last year. That's very odd.
  6. Dress him in a Cubs hat, glasses, and headphones, a la Steve Bartman
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 21, 2007 -> 03:19 PM) There are no #3 starters available in free agency. There's a bunch of 5's, a group of 30 somethings coming off serious injuries and a couple 40 somethings who are old or hurt. Colon is no where near a #3 anymore. He's started a total of 27 games the past 2 seasons with a combined ERA over 6. Rogers will be 43 and coming off a season where he made only 9 starts. It's probably time to call it quits. f*** Curt Schilling. Garcia just had surgery to repair a torn labrum and won't be back until August of next season. The Sox had better not be looking to free agency in order to fill major holes in the rotation, there's NOTHING out there this year. ESPN had a list of the top potential FA Starters for the offseason, #2 was Carlos Silva. That says a lot about how crappy this free agent pitching class is
  8. Belichick fined $500,000, the maximum allowed, Pats fined $250,000. More importantly, they will lose a 2008 1st rd pick if they make the playoffs, or a 2008 2nd and 3rd rd pick if they miss the postseason.
  9. On a somewhat related note, does anyone know a program to put a DVD onto an Ipod? I really don't feel like paying money to buy the ITunes versions of movies I already own on DVD.
  10. QUOTE(chisox72 @ Aug 25, 2007 -> 04:49 PM) Stubhub, etc... It cracked me up to hear the asshats on Fox talking about how "Red Sox Nation" travels the most out of any other team. I call bulls***. Most of the the time its Johnny Toolbox who lives in Winnetka and has been a HUGE Red Sox fan since ESPN told him to become one in 2004. The collective Red Sox asskissing that is occuring on Fox today is astounding.... I was at the game last night, and there were many Sawx fans in my section, yet not once did I hear anything remotely resembling a Boston accent. I had a "die-hard Red Sox" fan behind me who had a Texas accent. Oh yeah, they were all douchebags too. They were taunting White Sox fans non-stop in the section, completely unprovoked.
  11. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Aug 23, 2007 -> 10:56 PM) In my area Schaumburg I heard a tornado touched down on Wise/Roselle Rd if any of you know where that is, pretty busy intersection. Think I was without power for about 3 hours and the sun pump was almost overflowing, this day has been a pain, even worse I cut the lawn before it happened so I guess I can expect to cut it again tomorrow if the rain holds up. Jesus, that's like a mile from my house. Was there any serious damage from that tornado?
  12. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 20, 2007 -> 09:56 AM) I believe the last 2 Halloween movies, "H20" and "Resurrection", both came out in August of their respective years. I dug H20, but Resurrection was brutal. Wait, so you're saying you didn't enjoy Busta Rhymes doing karate on Michael Myers? Man, you just don't know classic cinema
  13. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 20, 2007 -> 09:50 AM) Never mind, I just checked IMDB for the release date. So much for listening to your friends. I just dont understand releasing a movie like this now when you can maximize the revenue a month and a half later. Its going to be an old hat in october, everyones opinions about it are going to affect new people seeing the movie, where they could generate some hype about it through the month of october and get butts in the seats. Bad move I believe the reasoning behind the release date is that Saw IV is coming out around October, and the makers of Halloween didn't want to compete with a very popular series from the same genre.
  14. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 05:09 PM) Agreed, just got back from it myself. I loved the first two films and was very pleased with those one. Just amazing that they can make a trilogy that actually stays just as good or improves throughout the films. That is a very amazing accomplishment. It may be more than a trilogy. I read a few months ago that since the movies have already strayed away from the novels, that they now want to make at least 1 or 2 more Bourne movies. That would be great, considering there is still a lot to discover with the character, and also the fact that the series gets better as it goes along.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 6, 2007 -> 04:22 PM) Steroids do not make you hit the ball with more regularity. Steroids do not make you have better hand eye coordination. If Bonds did use steroids, it should be taken with a grain of salt. So did Guillermo Mota and Robert Valido... I saw on HBO the creator of "The Clear" (the stuff Bonds was allegedly on), and he said that it has been scientific researched, and proven that "the clear" improves not only muscle growth and repair, but also improves bat speed and hand-eye coordination, FWIW.
  16. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 3, 2007 -> 09:10 AM) I'm stoked about Ultimatum. Gonna wit til Tuesday to avoid opening day crowd. Saw it last night. Even though I loved the first two, I actually thought this one was the best one yet.
  17. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jul 21, 2007 -> 09:35 AM) Right now: 46% of people on ESPN said a ref betting on their sport is worse than dog killing.... 14% say that Barry Bonds cheating (steroids) is worse than Dog killing... 60% of people are retarded. *this report was brought to you by PA's scientific research institute* The poll question asked what was worse to you as a sports fan. In general, dog killing is obviously much worse. But in terms of sports, fixing games is the worst sin one could do.
  18. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 08:55 PM) How'd Elton Brand get involved in the movie business? No clue. He's rich and lives in L.A., so I guess he met some people to open the door. Saw Transformers last night...thought I would be disappointed, but I ended up thinking it was great.
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 1, 2007 -> 01:30 AM) He's going to win an Oscar for this role. Since the first time I saw Patrick Bateman in action Christian has been my favorite actor. It'd be interesting if the film won the Oscar for best picture, for the reason that it would lead to the words "Academy Award winner Elton Brand" (He produced the film).
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 21, 2007 -> 12:59 AM) Austin St. John does not do gay porn, he's pretty much taken the same career path as Jason David Frank in moving away from the acting and concentrating on Martial Arts. I remember when the pictures first started going around, the guy who was supposedly St. John looked nothing at all like him. Ah, i gotcha. It really looked like him. Guess i didn't look close enough. Then again, how close is too close when examining pictures of gay porn stars
  21. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 20, 2007 -> 04:15 PM) Jason>Tommy Was Jason the Red Ranger? Someone sent me an e-mail with photos showing that the Red Ranger is now a star of, um, some adult themed movies that involve him using his morphin powers with other dudes.

    Entourage

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 4, 2007 -> 04:25 PM) SPOILER QUESTION I'm confused as to what happened to the other two people (the foriegn guy and his sexy model wife) -- they talked a little bit about it at the very beginning of the show, but my attention was sort of diverted. Did it end up not working out because Vince didn't "seal the deal"? Also, on an unrelated note, they had a two hour special on Pablo Escobar on the History channel. That really would make an interesting movie, to say the least, although (tying this back into Entourage), Vince is going to have put on a lot of weight and age a little bit to play the part to a 'T'. Yea, they briefly mentioned at the beginning that since Vince couldn't "seal the deal", the foreign guy backed out.
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 7, 2007 -> 12:29 PM) And now you tell me how "tired out" makes ANY sense in the context of the statement. It doesn't. He's lying through his teeth and for some unknown reason people are going right along with it even though it doesn't fit. Like I said, I could really care less if he's using the word 'f**' to mean 'wuss' but to lie about it in this way just makes him look like a complete fool. I don't know if he's lying. The fact that he said he would and probably will use the term again makes me think that he thought he was using it in the proper usage, it doesn't seem like he would say that if he were trying to cover his ass. Remember, this is one stubborn-ass announcer. Is it possible that he honestly thinks it means "lazy" when, in reality, he's wrong? It wouldn't be the first time he was wrong and refused to acknowledge it. I think this is more a case of ignorance of his understanding of the term. With that said, he needs to realize that it's not the 1960's anymore. Even if used in the proper context, the word "f**" mainly has a negative connotation in 2007. Anyone, especially the number #1 college b-ball broadcaster on a national network, should have a little more common sense.
  24. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 08:06 AM) I actually enjoyed Tarantino's movie a lot, it was way way more realistic than Death Proof and I think the movie needed the talking, it also why his past movies have been successful. And like mentioned b4, when there was action it was top notch. Thats not a knock on Death Proof which still overall was prob the better movie. Also I think that the Machete trailor might be a real one that Rodriguez plans on working on. Wait, I'm confused...wasn't Death Proof the one that Tarantino made? Or was that just a typo?

    Entourage

It's the strangest thing...I make sure never to miss an episode, yet I rarely feel like I've watched something that was great. It's just very addictive.
