  1. Mag$$ hitting the Sox hard... He needs to get pegged.
  2. QUOTE(SS Gload @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) right center field, just got over the fence, probably 421 ft. 3-2 breaking ball. If Paulie can heat up again down the back stretch here, we gotta be feeling pretty good. EDIT: Nice baserunning on the routine fly, Aaron. Gotta get back on the hit n' run.
  3. Tell me about Paulie's knock: what count? opposite field? bomb?
  4. QUOTE(TLAK @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) I wouldn't mind Brian Dolgin getting a shot. He has improved every night, he has P b P experience and he brings a playfullness to the air that I've come to enjoy. Except when he talks about his damn car he is relentlessly sane and I think he would be a good change of pace from Farmer on a daily basis. Yikes. As much as the Soxtalk community enjoys Bryan on the pre and post, I think a move to the in-game is not the cards for some time to come. Get someone with MLB radio expierence--MAYBE with actual MLB-playing experience--to keep Farmer level-headed regarding the glory days or we are all in pretty deep.
  5. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) I was always under the impression that average income in the community/house prices were positively correlated teacher pay. SCATTERPLOTS!!!! ...someone should flex their psych. muscles.
  6. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) I was always under the impression that average income in the community/house prices were positively correlated teacher pay. That's because you are correct. Compare avg. salaries for those working at Steinmetz to those at New Trier, or even Whitney Young for that matter.
  7. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) Anyone know what the weather is supposed to be like in Detroit? It would certainly suck to have to sit through more rain delays Per weather.com Temps between 70-53 Partly Cloudy. = no rain outs.
  8. Um...upon further review, if Simply The Best sounds a bit too...how do you say...queer; maybe Living Legend or just Brett Favre Quarterback Green Bay Packers You know what to do lol lol.
  9. You think you have it bad and then you read a story like that. Very touching. You know, I'm sure that is something Willingham would have done as well, but it's stuff like that which makes the Irish the Irish. What a storied program.
  10. QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) Didn't realize this is John Rooney's last home Sox broadcast. I'll miss him next year. Farmer will put people to sleep with his pbp. You're right. Gosh, that's such a heartbreaker. He'll most def. be missed.
  11. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) If, and a big if, we win today, is the magic playoff number 3 right? Yes, with the division magic number going to 6? Or would it be five with both a Sox win and a Tribe loss?
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) Bingo I actually went with Borchard. I wouldn't mind seeing Joe get some at-bats with his power potential. That said, you really need to straighten Carl out come playoff time. It's a tough call.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) I can't believe what I voted for in the Everett poll. Spelled backwards, is it OMIT? Desperate times.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 03:39 PM) Because there were also no legit replacements on the team at the time. Also, he knew he was going to need those two for the entire season. Right now, Ozzie should be taking this one game at a time. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=2&t=40436 Vote. What should Ozzie do?
  15. Genuinely interested. What would ya'll do?
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) Good job by Buehrle. He's going to just stick with that fastball, and that's what he needs to do. Damage control is something he has been lacking in his previous outings. He's looking a bit more like the Mark of old.
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) Are you talking about that quote where he was mad at himself for booting a ball that cost us a win? I still don't think he was complaining about his playing time as much as complaining about him booting the ball. That's not the quote I remember.
  18. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) Ross Gload > Carl "b**** about every Pitch" Everett Ross Gload = Started b****ing earlier this season than Everett
  19. The van is maxed out, gassed up, and ready to rock. Well done, Soxtalk!
  20. OUR SOX ARE BACK!!!! THEY'RE ACTUALLY BACK! Hurry, three spots left in the van, who wants em'?
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) Man, I don't even get your guys's game, but 4 INT's for Orton in the first half? Ouch. Five. Five interceptions by the third quarter. BLAKE
