Funny story about Robin. In 1998, when I was in sixth grade, Robin saw my teacher at a bar in Lincoln Park and tried to pick her up...heres the best part...she said "no!" She was a causal fan of the Flubs and had no clue who he was. Well, I was a die-hard Sox fan since birth so when I heard about this I asked to go to the bathroom, so I wouldn't have the urge to slap her in the face. Imagine that for show and tell...ugh' I hate Cub fans.

Agreed. With Gload then taking over at 1B, I think Perry would be a nice player to have. Plus...He's the Milkman! He always delivers! =

Bench/Spot Start, Whatever You want.

Inspired by our other two threads about free agents... Both Robin and Herbert Perry are free agents...would we have any use for either? Is the bridge burned between Robin and the Sox? I think Robin would be a good clubhouse presence and a nice weapon off the bench, but he may be too expensive. I dunno if either of those two would contribute, but I think it'd be a good PR move to bring them back. I'm Pro Robin in 05'

Signing Patterson would be an awful move. Partially because he was a Cub, but also because he's a bust. I know, I know...he's young, he may achieve and have himself a nice career and maybe be in the hall of fame and we can tell our kids about having watched Corey Patterson. Or, we can enjoy Aaron Rowand. I choose the latter.

Using that logic...that Sox would have to either sign Beltran before making the trade, or trade-away knowing full well Beltran will be on the SouthSide next year. I just don't see it happening...I would LOVE to be proven wrong by KW going out and getting Beltran, but I think someone will out-bid us. The problem is...this all sucks. If JR would just open his freaking wallet, we would have all three (PK, CLee, and Beltran). You don't win by cutting one area to improve another...good teams build on their current success, not just move some pieces around. "I tell ya...I get no respect."
