Guys, help me out. I can't see which users are in a thread. Is this a problem on my comp. or did the admin. team change this setting in an attempt to prevent server issues?

Anyone else smiling uncontrollably?

QUOTE(downstairs @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 10:31 AM) So does anyone know if the Sox will celebrate the division title after this win, or are they not going to do that? I know St. Louis did not when they were in this situation. Anyone know? If I'm not mistaken, the celebration comes after the magic number reaches 0. So, I'm not too sure. If the Tribe loses, and the Sox win. The magic number hits 0. If the Sox win and the Tribe win, the magic number stays at 1. Right? Screw it. I don't care. I just can't wait to call this team division champs.

If you see this van-a-rocking...we are going to post-season baseball M'Fers. Ice the bubbly.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:47 AM) Trust me I would love to see Pauly back here for cheap, but I think if that were going to happen, it would have happened already. That's hardly cheap. That said, with the recent steroid madness, guys like Paul Konerko who produce 30-40HR on a fairly consistant basis and do it CLEANLY are really going to see their vaule sky-rocket. I never thought I would say it, but, guys like Paul Konerko have become a rare commoditiy.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:41 AM) I would be shocked if he signs for anywhere near that little money. There are teams that need his juice-free bat, badly, us being one of them. I have no doubt he will get at least a 4 year deal with at least $11 million a year. Well, I suppose I could see both Houston and Boston offering that fourth year. But, I fear that might be something Reinsdorf and company shys away from. At some point, I just have to admit that I still find solace in good old hometown favoritism and loyalty. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with wanting the most green. Baseball is a business. But, I can still dream can't I?

QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 10:45 AM) All is well. Mother and daugher are resting comfortably. Joe supposedly heading back to Detroit for the game tonight. HEY HEY!!! Congrats Joe! Go get them kitties!

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) Will Reinsdorf be willing to pay Konerko a possible 4yr/40 million dollar deal? Houston, Boston, Anaheim have already set their sights on him. IMHO, 3yr/$33M gets it done. Thoughts on that? As for Konerko being the only major-leauge hitter in our lineup...I couldn't agree more with that statement. He needs to be back. NEEDS to be back.

QUOTE(Mrocks24 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:23 AM) This guy was the worst possible guy to bring up to the plate w/ the bases loaded. He makes borchard look like an allstar ...and this is worth starting a thread about? Really? I, mean, really? The Sox have pissed a 15-game lead down their leg and we start a thread calling for Geoff Blum's head? ...amd I missing something? This thread wasn't really started was it?

At what point do we re-name the Manager of the Year Award the Bobby Cox Manager of the Year Award. It's getting laughable at this point. Hats off.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) Yankees have the first two guys on. They put B. Crosby in the lineup, and he's been a huge spark for them. Just like that one guy has been for us. Ya know, that, um, guy we brought up to help the team. That, firey new-blood at the trade-deadline to help give the offense a spark. That guy.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 06:34 PM) If they don't score again tonight I hope Ozzie closes the locker room and RIPS THEM A NEW ONE No, he should only do that when the team fails to play .500 ball and pisses their lead down to... Wait...um...nevermind.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) "shuffle" = regular rotation + too many Talking Heads songs. I enjoyed the Extreme Zone after midnight, but just like 94.1 JJO in Madison, what started as a nice little hard rock/heavy metal station turned into the heavier end of the Loop's playlist. The thing I'll miss about the death of the Zone is not hearing Pantera at 3am on the way home from work on Sunday night/Monday morning. f***in ay'. They were the only station to play Pantera, Lamb of God, Classic Megadeth...even if it was after hours.
-
This wouldn't be as bad if the Loop didn't drop their real heavy classic rock cycle of Zeppelin, Floyd, Doors, etc. There's only so much Nickleback and Geddy Lee that I can take.
-
I really dig it. I don't think you could make a bad wall even if you tried. Thanks as I'm sure this one wasn't as easy to make as most. Awesome as usual.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 26, 2005 -> 06:04 PM) damn everett is pathetic right now. but I have to say I do think he needs to hit his way out of it. you can't expect him to sit then pop off the bench a few days later and magically be out of his slump. That is such an interesting topic...and that is sorta why I made the poll. On one hand, you'd love to see Everett get outta the funk by hanging in there and slugging his way out of it. On the other hand, we still need to clinch the division and get a playoff birth. It really is a tough one. Me, I'm sitting him for a few days. Get Borchard some at-bats, get Anderson some at-bats...anything to shake it up and produce a little more offense from that slot in the lineup. -

Why does every single ball--without fail--hit off Uribe's bat seem like it is going to travel 800+ feet. Yes, even his patented high fly to the middle infield. -
