I'm not going to start a new thread...but, I really hope 99 makes a green Freddy banner. ...if you want to strategically hide a broom in there, that's fine by me.

I read through this thread looking to echo someone's sentiments and this is pretty darn close to what I'm thinking today. This win isn't going to come easily for either club. This one oughta be a nail-biter. A win today and I'm on cloud nine. Let's Go Go Go White Sox!

AND THATS A WHITE SOX PLAYOFF WINNER
AddisonStSox replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Probably won't be seeing much of me during the playoffs. Sorry Soxtalk, but ya'll take a backseat to post-season baseball. I just can't jeopardize missing a single pitch. That said, what an amazing, tone-setting preformance. Words can't describe how important a demoralizing defeat like that is. If our Sox come to play tomorrow we could be looking at two straight... ...shhhhhhhhhh, don't say it. -
This thread is priceless. Absolutely priceless.

QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 07:38 PM) yessir missing all classes like the badass i am. oops Hey, badass, do you have a VCR? Some Illinois students do not find themselves in your privileged position. Not only do I have class until 3:45, I have a Pre-Law meeting at 4. Yippee. Seriously, though, do you have a vcr?

QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) Either way curry is gone at the end of the year. So we might as well get some players back this year that can help us... because at this point it doesn't look like curry would be doing jack s*** for us. If curry turns out to be an all-star trading curry at this point is still the right move. This also puts us in a bettter position in the following off-seasons. Ah, gottcha. I was under the impression Pax and company wanted to keep the hometown talent in the franchise despite the king's ransom he was going to ask for. Let's hope we get in return is a little better than a couple mid-prospects from the Oriole organization.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 06:38 PM) If this trade ends up hurting the Bulls I will eat my toes, ol' chap. You say this because... Curry's health is still a question, he was a prick, he's not a good baseketball player? What?

I'm not an NBA guy, but could this be the NBA version of the Sosa deal? Getting rid of a guy for whatever the hell you can get just to get him out of town? I know Sosa is washed up, owed a ton of money, etc. and Curry is still young, promising, ??liked in the lockerroom??, but could this end up being a real negative thing for an otherwise postitive, rebuilding franchise?

I their bullpen.

One of the main reasons I created this thread was to give credit where credit is due. SoxBadger called Carnell Williams a Walter Payton type player since day one and so far, SB was all over that one. He defended Carnell as a HB and proclaimed he would trump all other first-round HBs because of his running style, power, explosiveness. Hats off to SB on what looks to be a dead-one assesment. So, let's take a look around the league. Who is your team? Does your team have a rookie that we can already call a can't-miss success? Is there someone out there that slipped much further than he should have? Are you absolutely irate your team wasted a pick on someone you think is going to flop? Hell, is this too early to even put out inatial reports? s***, some rookies haven't played one down of National Football League football yet. In any event, what's shaking? Any eye openers?

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) Willie without a doubt could become a key factor in this series. Ummmmmmmmmmmmm....yeah, I stick by my statement.

I'll just say this: If we face a situation where Willie Harris and Geoff Blum become important figures...we're f'ed.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) Well it pisses me off. Can we please get your gangsta avatar back...please? Loved it.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) I agree 100 percent. First Trammell didnt have any talent on his squad, and had to sit through the painful examination of the minor league product. Then they added a few pieces last year (Irod and Johnson). Then this year, his team gives up on him. Sure, he can and will get blame for his team giving up on him, but the veterans on the squad deserve alot of the blame for that if you ask me. Irod hasnt seemed interested for an entire month, Maggs came back, and was just kind of there. The only time i ever saw a Maggs highlight this year was when he was hitting well for a week when he came back. He had a couple of homers and then nothing. This team gave up on Trammell more than he gave up on them. Way to make your hometown hero a complete goat, Detroit. Nice post and I totally agree. It's really a shame to see a guy like that get the ax, but, baseball is a business. Trammell was one of my favorite players from that era.

Happy BDay. Have a good one.

We're talking post-season baseball. Am I the only one that this hasn't sunk in for yet? You guys make some great points. It's threads like this that make me appreciate Soxtalk. Honestly.

Season Finale 10/2 Game Thread
AddisonStSox replied to AddisonStSox's topic in 2005 Season in Review
Wow. Ozzie smelled the blood and is going in for the kill. Should be a fun one. Knock these bastards out of the playoff picture. Ouuuuuuuuuuuu that would be sweet. -
ROLL TIDE! God damn I love Alabama football. ...and, yeah, that was a nasty, nasty break.

Bring out the brooms and bear down for post-season baseball. Brandon McCarthy 2-2 4.21 v. Scott Elarton 11-8 4.51 I just want to take this opportunity to mention what an absolute joy White Sox baseball has been this season. It's been one hell of a ride. Go get em', rook!

Kap...close this one up?
