  5. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 08:18 PM) the Peyton Manning mastercard commercials = win "D CAF" is the new "cut that meat".. I think I'll make a sign for MNF.
  6. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 07:48 PM) Buck is saying the non interference kept at least 1 run off the board, how does he figure? That would have loaded the bases, and Garcia fanned the next 2 guys. You know what happens when people "ASSume".
  7. QUOTE(RudyLawRules @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 07:31 PM) Drink. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=41476 Are you trying to get everyone drunk!!!!!!!
  8. QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 15, 2005 -> 07:03 PM) The announcers need to shut the f*** up. It sure it obvious to the naked eye... when you have to blow it up ten times in super slo mo. These ump's aren't superheros that have x-ray vision. Move on, enough already.
  9. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 06:54 PM) Bad Call but dumb dumb Baserunning by Rowand. My god. What a moronic move. Ozzie needs to talk to him about this. Quinlan has always had a good arm. Cora sent him!!!!! Maybe Ozzie needs to talk to his 3rd base coach.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 08:13 AM) I guess Reynoso got turned down? I am not sure because it looks like there are still about 10 pitcher spots and 1 catcher spot that is "TBA" for the Peoria team.
  11. According to the AFL website... it looks as if these Barons are assigned to the Peoria Saguaros starting October 4. Sean Tracey Josh Fields Ryan Sweney Edited to add Robert Valido from Winston-Salem
  12. Does anyone know the dates for the Instructional League and AZ Fall Leagues?? They are both located in the Phoenix area, aren't they? Thanks for any help
  13. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) yeah that was a circus, The Umps had talked during the break in between the top and bottom of the 9th they decided to play. It was so bad that Isenia had to call time because he couldn't even and the umps couldn't even see him step out of the box!! so they had an argument over that which let the infield take a beating for a couple more minuets Kennedy the crew chief finally called for the tarp and it looked like the Biscuits grounds crew was struggling to get it on Razor had a heated conversation with it looked like the Montgomery GM there was a whole bunch of confusion over where the 2 runs would come off the board or what would happen Finally the Barons got the tarp on I left because I didn't see anyway that they could play again because the infield was nothing but mud. That was a wierd event It looks like the game would either be suspended (with no makeup since they don't play each other again) or revert back to the 8th inning-with the Barons losing. Either way it seemed the Biscuits would benefit from calling the game. I bet if Montgomery had the lead with the Barons batting that tarp would have covered the field. The Barons players ended up helping pull the tarp because only half the infield was covered and the Montgomery GM said they couldn't get it done (too heavy?) with the people they had. Wierd indeed or convenient.
  14. Great Pics!!!! Tom, Were you at the game in Montgomery last night? What was the deal with the rain delay and tarp???
  15. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 03:32 PM) Yes it is true he has been assigned to divison rival Mobile, Ryan left for Mobile this afternoon. Good luck to Ryan you were a class act. Well I guess the Barons will be seeing him in the middle of August when they travel down to Mobile. All those make up games from the rainouts during the hurricane fallout... alot of doubleheaders. I am sure we will see Meaux facing his former teammates.
  16. It looks like the White Sox received veteran switch hitting infielder Geoff Blum from San Diego for Birmingham reliever Ryan Meaux. Good Luck to Ryan, he did a great job for the Barons. And hopefully Blum will help the Sox.
  17. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Jul 23, 2005 -> 12:23 AM) Barons 6 Huntsville 4 W- Meaux L- Stamler A well played ballgame the Barons never give up out there down 4-0 the Barons didn't panic in the 5th back to back singles by Owens, Gonzo and a 3-0 pitch to Fields that he absolutly crushed to LF for a 3 run shot. Next inning with 2nd 3rd 2 outs Owens hit a little chopper and he hustled all the way to 1st and beat the throw to tie the game. In the 8th with 2nd 3rd 2 outs Andy Gonzalez drove a 2 run single to left center. Ryan Meaux out of the pen was lights out, Haeger outside of the 4th was outstanding. Owens, Gonzo, Lopez, Gray, Fields all had 2 hits. Josh also made some outstanding plays at the hot corner long throws great stabs all round great game for Josh. How is Gonzalez finger? I saw he was good enough to bat (and get a clutch hit!!!), but how far away is he from being able to play the infield? Thanks
  18. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 07:18 PM) Well it's not obvious for those of us that can't follow the day to day injuries like you or BHAM. In my previous post I stated the situation and I was told to "chill out". The topic of the Barons roster being short handed started Friday. I don't follow day to day injuries of any other teams than Birmingham, so any info I can bring to help others is all I am doing. Since this is a place to talk about our Future Sox players I welcome input about the other farm clubs since I don't follow them as close. And as far as the "obvious" goes anytime a pitcher hits for himself when the DH is available then there is something behind it.
  19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) Whatever!!! Just stating the obvious.
  20. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 07:00 PM) What happened to Chris Young, did not know he was hurt? No way the Barons should be playing shorthanded like that. The White Sox need to get them some help. Sorry EDITED.. Thought you were talking about Gonzalez. Just caught myself. He got hit on the finger/hand while batting late in the game Friday night. Not sure of the seriousness, but the Lookouts broadcast said the Barons " hope it is not broken", so I am sure he may be out for awhile. I agree the Sox need to do something!!!!!!! But they still seem to be able to pull out the win even as shorthanded as they are.
  21. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) I guess the Haegermeister is just too f***ing cool to have someone hit for him. Maybe he is too "f@#%^&*" cool for the DH or MAYBE The Barons roster is according to the Chattanoogna Lookouts ... "very undermanned and Razor has his hands tied". Since as Tom stated all weekend with Gonzalez finger in a splint, Young out and Garcia hurt they are down to the bare minimums-- 4 infielders and 3 outfielders. Because of this the DH was lost late in the game on Friday and Saturday nights and that is why the pitcher HAD to hit for himself, there was no one left. Maybe you should find out why the pitcher was swinging the bat before you start making comments like that.
  22. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) This is very ironic, the very day a backup infielder is sent down your starter gets hurt so now our starter (Gray) is normally a 3B and his Defense at 2nd is not good. I wonder when the Sox's activate The Duke where will Jenks go to Charlotte already has 30+ players on it we have 21. We need a closer Pollok is a good 7th 8th guy but has really struggled in the closers role. It should be interesting to see what happens with all these moves and transactions. All year it seems the Barons have been playing short-handed. I guess I don't understand some moves that are made, ie. why Charlotte has 30+ players and W-S looks like it is loaded with middle infielders. Do you think we will get Jenks back?
  23. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 16, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) Don't complain too much. I'm stuck with watching the Yanks-BoSox. It is sad when I am three hours from Chicago and instead of getting the best team in baseball, my local affiliate is broadcasting NY-Boston --east coast teams that I could care less about. Maybe they will get another barnburner 17-1 like last night. LOL I e-mailed my local Fox station voicing my displeasure and lack of Sox love.
  24. QUOTE(BHAMBARONS @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) Chattanooga 6 Barons 4 W-Schmidt L- Pollok A very difficult game the Barons Bullpen entrusted to get 9 outs couldn't do it. Josh Fields made a huge error but still a 1-1 pitch single to Assadorian who was 0-2 2K's against Tracey then 1-2 pitch homer to a weak hitting Bryan Anderson. Barons offense continues to hit very well the team AVG has to be close to the League Lead. The Fields error doesn't bother me as much as the homer because Josh made a good pick to even get the ball then rushed his throw. Sweeney power is getting more and more evident each game today he slammed a ball off the RF wall for a double. Blakely slammed a ball into into orbit tonight at least 450 to RF. What's up with the Barons roster. Now with Gonzalez hurt and out for ??? and sending Haggerty to Winston-Salem (huh) they have 4 infielders. I guess you gotta hope no one gets hurt, so much for a utility guy. Have you heard of any moves? Thanks.
