7/21 Game Thread - BoSox vs. ChiSox
Southside hitmen replied to DABearSoX's topic in 2005 Season in Review
Patrick (Chicago): I know you're writing off the White Sox but would you at least give them a second look if they acquire Burnett or Schmidt? Rob Neyer: (3:00 PM ET ) Oh, a little bit, I guess. But the problem isn't the pitching; the White Sox can throw three solid starters at you in a postseason series. The problem is the hitting; they're sixth in the American League in scoring, and they're in real danger of falling a couple of notches below that. Plus, have you seen their record when not playing other AL Central teams? It's 31-24, which is fine but far from special. -
7/21 Game Thread - BoSox vs. ChiSox
Southside hitmen replied to DABearSoX's topic in 2005 Season in Review
Ryan (Boston, MA): Rob there you said it again! What is the infatuation with the Yankee and Red Sox in the AL? What about my Angels as World Series contenders or the team with the best record in baseball, the ChiSox? Rob Neyer: (2:32 PM ET ) Obviously, both the Angels and White Sox are contenders, simply by virtue of their likely division titles. But are they truly *impressive*? The Angels are merely good -- as they were last year -- and the White Sox remind me of the 2000 White Sox and the 2001 Mariners: good teams that had great seasons. -

Maybe we can get Gonzalez in a trade this year instead of waiting for him to become a free agent. Gonzalez might sign for less like Garcia did.
-
Its time to get rid of Viz and bring up Baj from the minors
-
If the Yankees or the Redsox had our record&lineup these so called experts would be falling over one another to kiss the team ass
-
I cant wait to destroy the Redsox this week and the Yankees in aug.. than these so called f***in experts will shut the f*** up

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 01:49 PM) Who was it? Valvano? Jason Smith? I bet you he thought the Yankees pitching staff is really good Eric something
-
Said that the Whitesox have no shot in the playoffs because of our weak lineup compare to the other AL Teams But this Loser didnt mention our pitching staff

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) Source? ESPN 1000 2:20 report
-
Shingo released SOx have 10 days to trade him
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) Agreed. I'd rather have the solid veteran player this year. Good point. However, it's probably not doable. Yah I dont think its very doable either but Counsell would be such a huge pickup
-
What time does this trade have to go down to put Hernandez on the active roster
-
I would rather have Craig Counsell over Cintron. maybe we can trade Shingo,Willie for him than bring up Ross Gload
-
QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) I have noticed this too. They all seem to come from listening to the Giants flagship station. If that station is anything like the speculation-and-not-fact based Chicago sports radio stations, this is a waste of time. I think alot of stations throw alot of s*** out there and see what sticks. So they can say they were the first to report it
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 11:14 AM) I may be wrong but haven't you started a lot of random rumor threads CS23? I think his threads have been pretty accurate when the news come out of SF.

Another poster on the Redsox message board had the same post From: chisox4ever 1:20 am To: drice unread (4 of 8) 133914.4 in reply to 133914.3 Ben Maller was on XM Radio reported that Burnett,Lowell and Mota will be traded to the Whitesox
-
QUOTE(peanut33tillman @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 12:07 AM) how credible is this poster any idea??? Well we have 2 different posters say the same thing but hell I dont know
-
this is off the Redsox message board site From: hawkisgod 1:59 am To: mannyvaritek2433 unread (51 of 51) 133899.51 in reply to 133899.49 I hate this time of the year, so many conflicting reports...xm radios Ben maller reported the white sox have a done deal that will send mota lowell and Burnett to the sox, also the the sox want a 72 hour window to negotiate a contract with AJ, and this other source is reporting the red sox have a done deal. Well this much is sure, AJ will be on the sox, but which color will he be sporting, red or white? The thing that also really confuses me is gammons says the red sox were far from a deal this morning, and the white sox were close. Now its time to wait and see which source is correct.
-
On the Redsox message board it has the same rumor about what Maller said about Burnett coming to the Whitesox.
-
QUOTE(rcpweiner @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 11:46 PM) Um ... over on his website (www.benmaller.com) he says that A.J. Burnett will be traded to the RED sox within a week. So ... I don't know if you just heard Sox and assumed it was the white variety, but just thought I'd point it out. He got that rumor from the sunday newspaper
-
Is Maller usually solid with with his reports. So does this look like a done deal
