  2. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 22, 2005 -> 08:45 PM) If they trade Jeremy Reed for Bronson Arroyo, they could try Ichiro in CF but I doubt he would agree to it. LF Raul Ibanez CF Ichiro Suzuki RF Matt Lawton DH Carl Everett Im thinking it will be ichiro in right ibanez in center and lawton in left, pending on reed going to boston
  3. WAIT'LL (The ever-popular classic, to "Dreidel'' by a Chicagoland choir of pro sports teams' fans -- with White Sox faithful sitting this one out) We preach a little wait'll Whenever our teams play And when they're good and ready Then "wait'll'' we won't say. I like this one, ill sing this to cubs fans lol
  4. Anyone know if there are any certain times for the bloomingdale locationt that the trophy will be there?
  5. QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) I hope his number isn't 35 as it was made famous by Frank Thomas. I also think that a safe bet would be 33. Unless Dye would agree to let Vazquez have the number 23, that does happen once in a while. I doubt it, most likely 33 and I doubt dye gives up 23 unless some sort of deal between the two is involved
  6. QUOTE(Balance @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 12:26 AM) That game was a f***ing disgrace. The Bulls are not good enough to take the night off, but that's what they did. No defense at all. This game was pissing me off, i wanted to stop watching but then the bulls would catch up and then were down by 8 again, Bulls just couldnt catch them and they didnt even have okafor ridiculous
  7. Id be happy to have him back, we could use a veteran arm in the pen, and a reliever in general after losing marte and viz
  8. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 01:17 AM) I can't believe the Yankees and their constant overspending. It's like they want to put the other teams out of business financially r something. Keep throwing money on it is George Steinbrenner's motto You have to like these types of Gms who will do anything to win, seems like this past year KW was also willing to throw money to get the winning team, eventually it all works out, yankees are by far the team to beat in their division, steinbrenner is determined to get the yanks back in the series, overall even though damon has a bad arm they did need the outfielder and they have almost all of their holes filled except they could use a pitcher
  9. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 11:06 PM) Don't forget they have their cy young candidate Josh Beckett and perennial all-star Mike Lowell. oh yeah forgot about that :rolly
  10. Well now that the Red Sox are falling apart does this mean that its going to be a Toronto and Yankees division if so that would be nice, Red Sox havent gained much and seems like they are falling apart.
  11. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) King Felix is the key to their rotation. That kid looks like an absolute stud, somewhat like Mark Prior when he came up. If he has the kind of year people think he can have, he ends up being their ace, making that a much stronger rotation. Moyer and Washburn are then serviceable middle of the rotation guys, and if Piniero gets anywhere close to his old self that's a fairly good rotation. Yeah I really like Hernandez, awesome pitcher, they have a couple good young pitchers in their system. Angels have lost some pitchers this year, paul byrd and now washburn. Now all they really have is colon lackey and santana who is another good young player I like besides hernandez, this division should come down to the mariners oakland and angels but who knows.
  12. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) That sounds semi-reasonable in this market. Washburn is actually much more established than a good chunk of the guys getting this kind of money, and he has some playoff experience. For his career he is almost 20 games over .500 and has a career ERA of 3.93 in the AL. He's a pretty decent #3 starter, although he's gone downhill a bit since his excellent 2002 season. Makes you wonder what guys will be getting next year when some real pitchers are on the market like Pettitte, Schmidt, Mulder, Zito, and our two guys. Will the salaries keep escalating or will they calm down a bit because there is more talent available? Somewhere in between sounds about right. I can't imagine too many pitchers getting $12 mil or more per year. Good point, washburn deserves the money he had an awesome year He definitely helps this mariners team who needed pitching, mariners seem like they are going to try to make a run at the playoffs this year with some of the additions they have made, new catcher from japan, carl everett, a lefty bat that they desperately needed their rotation should now be: Moyer, if he didnt retire Washburn Pineiro Hernandez Franklin Maybe madritsch can also fill one of the spots and meche (if not traded) THey still could use another starter, because their staff is still a little weak but their hitting should make up for it
  13. This should be an interesting dodgers team next year, after getting nomar mueller and furcal and now add a possible leadoff man besides furcal the dodgers have basically locked up the division win, lofton should give this team experience in the postseason and some steals and hes good defensively i like the move
  14. instead of where it says dynamite poster under my name can i have it changed back to the standard name, if u know what i mean
  15. They also signed sean burroughs in the process after getting josh paul
  16. this has to be the stupidest trade, a team trying to rebuid is now getting older
  17. bulls should win this one, make it two in a row
  18. congrats they got the worthless graves who blows every game and karsay who eats salary big whoof
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 01:38 AM) Ok, wait, if we were using Wilkerson as a leadoff man, how would Pods be on base? Would you have Pods batting 9th? Or would Wilkerson be batting 2nd, which makes more sense based on everything else you said? Ok i said this wrong id have wilkerson bat second like everyone else, i didnt really state that good enough
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 01:44 AM) I can't see that happening unles Tyson Chandler starts playing like he did last season. If that doesn't happen, the Bulls will be around with about 5 teams fighting for that 7-8 spots in the East. Yeah this is the most likely scenario, and if the bulls make the playoffs i really dont see them getting by the first round
  21. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 01:42 AM) Who do you think are good candidates to make a Garland for 2 pitching specs trade? My leading candidate right now would be the Dodgers. They have quite a few good young pitching specs, they seem to want to contend right now, and they're on the west coast, which plays into their favor when trying to resign Garland. I'd love to get a couple of their pitching specs. dodgers have some good players, i like some of the mariners pitching spects as well as some of the astros, hard to say what is going to happen, id think having the season garland did you would want to sell him high now that he had such a good season and bring in alot of talent Possibility you could get some good mlb players for garland, rather than spects
  22. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 01:33 AM) I'm sure Spiff will tell you the Celtics aren't anything special at all this season. Besides Davis and Pierce, they've basically got no other good scoring options. Still a good performance by you guys, even though I'm sure Skiles didn't like the TO's. Looks like Sweetney dominated. Yeah sweetney played well, i think if he can pick up the slack that curry gave us the bulls could make a late run for playoffs, however losing antonio davis to me was the biggest loss to this team, he was a great leader and was smart with the ball, and as a young team the bulls dont really have any players that mirror davis at this point besides piatkowski and i guess allen who rarely plays, however always nice to get a win, and id agree the celtics arent the greatest but pierce usually gives us hell
  23. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 03:20 AM) Speaking of the Texans, this Bang Cartoon is a good one; http://www.bangcartoon.com/firstpick.htm that has to be one of the best ones in a while, carr said he wanted to be traded lol
  24. one thing i think of if this trade "somehow" happened, is wilkerson is used to a rold as leadoff man, he might benefit with pods on base, this would give him a chance to drive more runs in and get to hit with runners on, also it gives us two lefties leadilng off. That is only if it were to happen, personally I dont see any trades happening, and if so not till late december
