  1. QUOTE(babybearhater @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 09:07 AM) I dont think that they would keep 3 catchers on the roster if they sign AJ, Burke will be back down to the little league i have seen burke play the outfiedl but he most likely will be in the minors
  2. QUOTE(gsoxs1 @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) AROW was still coming off of that life threating injury when they brought in Evereet. I always have liked AROW he set himself back with that injury. AROW will be an ALLSTAR this year. hes not yet the player people notice around the mlb so unfortunately you can count him out of the allstar game
  3. Why do i envision him going back to the minnesota twins?
  4. Frank Thomas Carlton Fisk Robin Ventura Ozzie Guillen Ron Karkovice (jk just thought id bring the name up)
  5. lets not jump to the start of the season already, some of the good free agents like delgado can still help teams
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) That is a joke. So are we the Chicago White Sox of St Petersburg Florida now too? :rolly maybe :banghead
  7. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 09:55 PM) You obviously missed the Milwaukee game. Gordon has to learn when to pass the freaking ball, he is pissing me off. This shows how valuable Curry is. He is so freaking good on the offensive end. Chandler is garbage, I don't see why people love him so much. He is a level above stiff in my book. totally agree, he tries to hard to be like mj, not that its bad because it could pay off in the future but the whole team played like crap
  8. are offensive linemen arent fast enogh for sheas scheme, and we seriously need to go out of the shotgun, it allows you more itme to see open guys downfield, i dont care if terrell doesnt come back, he cant catch
  9. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) I would love to have a game breaking WR, but I just don't think that either Mike Williams or Braylon Edwards fit with the Bears system or are worthy of the #4 overall pick. I would pick OT D’Brickashaw Ferguson from Virginia in the first round and then hope that WR Chris Henry from West Virginia is still there in the 2nd round and grab him. I really like Chris Henry and most are projecting him to go in the 2nd-3rd round range. If Ferguson comes out early this year then he could potentially be our left tackle for the next 15-20 years. id rather get a ot out of free agency, offensive linemen seem to always disappoint, remember tony mandarich, best ot in college football ever bust in the nfl. edwards and williams could fit if we have a qb who could hit them downfield
  10. if they pick a defensive player im going to have a heart attack, and they better not taking an offensive linemen till the third round
  11. QUOTE(ISF @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 09:00 AM) Ortiz spent most of his career in Candlestick/Pac Bell. no he didnt
  12. QUOTE(lvjeremylv @ Jan 4, 2005 -> 10:06 AM) This team has been severely lacking in the "I've got balls" department, and hopefully the dumping of Magglio and Lee, who are both absolutely sackless, will help fix that. We need AJ to show some of our sheepish players what it takes to win games. Sometimes it takes an asshole attitude to put you over the top, and AJ possesses that quality -- and yes, if directed correctly, it is most definitely a quality. I've got balls department
  13. QUOTE(JimH @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) Joey Cora is his brother, not his dad. I think someone else posted that to you a few days ago. Iguchi used to play SS in Japan but moved to 2B in 2001 due to a shoulder problem. Do not know if he can handle SS here. guess i got a little confused, i saw that message too :banghead
  14. when spod gets on big pressure will be put upon the number two hole to either move him to second if hes already not there or get him to third or score him, interesting to see who bats second
  15. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) 3 lefty bats, (assuming there's a new 2nd baseman) 1 right handed stick and a switch hitter isn't that bad at all to have. It also depends if were signing a platoon like player or a fulltime guy. But thats just me. i think if we sign iguchi he will definitely get most of the starts whereas if we sign cora he might share with willie and i dont think hed mind being he has his dad on the team Crede will definitely sit out some games and uribe would play third and that allows harris to play can iguchi play short?
  16. Heres my lineup: Spod Rowand Thomas Konerko Dye Pierzynski (if signed) Uribe Iguchi (if signed) Crede Crede could give some good pop near the bottom, not sure where to put Iguchi because im not to sure of how good he is
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxmatt @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 04:49 PM) It will be pretty hard to contend in the west. Even if harden is a stud. Anaheim and Texas are both going to be good again this year. i think seattle will be better than texas figuring they go after a pitcher
  18. Figuring we do sign AJ and we do sign a second basemen, we might have one of the best benches in the leagues (decent pinch hitters). Ross Gload Carl Everett Willie Harris (if a 2nd basemen is signed) Timo Perez Davis/Burke Harris will mostly pinch run or pinch hit for squeeze bunts. Im only worried about how everett will feel, I dont know if he will like pinch hitting or not, guess he could share some time with rowand and Spod and do some DH. Perez really is of no use to us however but you may think otherwise. Davis is good to have around because he should catch for Garcia. Looking at this we should definitely have one of the top ten benches in baseball.
  19. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) If timo was never resigned that would help alot right about now. He is doing nothing more than wasting money and a roster spot. we dont really need timo and borchard and davis (if we get pierz)
  20. QUOTE(bulokis @ Jan 3, 2005 -> 06:55 PM) Heard the same thing about Vazquez being shopped to us. I dont think KW will try and get him bcoz I read Vazquez wants to stay in NL. yeah i saw that, hes too much money anyways
  21. give em credit, ortiz green glaus they are going to improve in a not so good division
  22. id give grossman this year, if he doesnt do anything worth it heres what id do draft next year if they join (possible candidates): vince young omar edwards (bowling green)
  23. my only concern is that maybe we shouldnt have signed ben davis, because i like burke a lot better and davis cant hit, pierz will most likely limit the other catchers playing time
