  1. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ May 25, 2005 -> 04:37 PM) I WOULD TRADE EVERY PLAYER ON THIS TEAM COMBINED FOR ANY ONE PLAYER THAT COULD GET US A WORLD SERIES RING. I WOULD TAKE 1 WORLD SERIES RING FOLLOWED BY 100 LAST PLACE SEASONS. I JUST WANT TO WIN. WIN ONE. WIN SOMETHING. WIN NOW. Hell yeah. They can have BMac. Give us the ring. No doubt about it. In a second. For sure. Most definitely. You get the point. Being above average gets you nowhere. Its all about the ring.
  2. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ May 24, 2005 -> 11:05 PM) your right he isnt an ace when are people finally gona give mark his due. he is one of the best pitchers in baseball. case closed this ones for you ace He really is. I feel so comfortable when he's going. That's what I kept telling myself last night- Mark's gonna mow these guys down tommorrow. Thank goodness he did.
  3. That might be our biggest win of the year so far. West coast, playoff caliber team, pitchers battle. Exactly the type of game we would lose in the past. Ended the losing streak too. I was a little worried. GREAT MOTHER-f***ING WIN!!!
  4. Yeah, I was a little surprised when they showed him walking out already... but then I immediately realized what he was doing. I don't think the move was bad at all. That's how he decided he wanted to do it. Get McCarthy out with some confidence. I had faith in Vizcaino too, I think that as time goes by, he will do better and better.
  5. QUOTE(TheDybber @ May 23, 2005 -> 10:50 AM) Frank is at the point of his career where he just wants to win a WS ring. And he probably thinks that this year might be his last good year to do it. Chemistry won't be a problem. Don't forget, there are a lot of Frank's former teammates coaching this team, they all know his antics and won't let him get away with them. Dye in right, Everett off the bench/trade bait (hopefully we can get something back for him, since we gave something up for him...TWICE), Frank DH. No ifs, ands, or buts. Right on. Frank has seen what has been going on without him. I think he will fit in nicely. Also, few things would solidify him being Hall of Fame bound more than a long run in the playoffs with him performing well. I only see benefits from his return (provided he is ready).
  6. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ May 22, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) The team needs a balance of veterans and youngsters, etc. What Frank Thomas can and does bring to this team by his leadership & his presence on the field can't be measured. He is a professional hitter, who will take the walk, go to the opposite field, hit with power, etc, and all that does is make the line up that much stronger. I think it will also help the likes of Paulie, Carl and Jermaine, as well as others. Frank Thomas deserves to be back in a Chisox uniform and helping this team to the championship. The man is headed to the Hall of Fame and I want it to be in a Sox uniform. I couldn't agree with you more. I think it just feels right that Frank should be back and help this team. After watching yesterday's game I'm convinced there's something special to this team. And I want Frank to be a part of it. After 20 games in the minors, I really think Frank will get the cobwebs out and be ready.
  7. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 20, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) Me neither. me neither
  8. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 20, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) WSCR 670 "The Score" reported earlier that Everett would be in the lineup tomorrow for either Podsednik or Dye. He's gotta get at least one start. If Dye doesn't have a good game today, it makes it an easy decision.
  9. I think everything is in line for Garcia to have a great game. Day game, wind in, and no DH- a nice break to get him on track. I feel good.
  10. I forget, are Hawk and DJ on WGN or Comcast today?
  11. I will also admit I had given up on him and I used to rip on him often. I'm glad I was wrong.
  12. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ May 17, 2005 -> 10:53 PM) Here's what I'd consider trying Lineup for now: 1) Podsednik LF 2) Rowand CF 3) Iguchi 2B 4) Konerko 1B 5) Everett DH 6) Pierzynski C 7) Uribe SS 8) Crede 3B 9) Dye RF Lineup for the return of The Big Hurt: 1) Podsednik CF 2) Rowand RF 3) Iguchi 2B 4) Thomas DH 5) Konerko 1B 6) Everett LF 7) Pierzynski C 8) Uribe SS 9) Crede 3B I don't understand why you would mess with the top 3 right now. Pods, Gooch, and Rowand are right where they should be for the rest of the year. How would switching Gooch and Rowand help us? I dont' see it. And, did I miss something, why are you switching positions for Pods and Rowand. I don't get this.
  13. To all the people who were saying AR was a fluke ( and you know who you are): Told you so.
  14. I really enjoy hearing these stories and things from people who have been around longer. The nostalgia makes you feel good. Enjoying things with family and friends is what it's all about.
  15. 1. Ozzie ... he's always been my guy. 2. Aaron Rowand. 3. Harold 4. Mike Sirotka 5. Mark Johnson 6. Bo 7. Jose Valentin 8. Robin 9. Frank 10. "Nawton, you're the greatest." I forgot the man I would probably put ahead of most of those players- Wimpy. I'm pretty sure he never played for the Sox but make him my #4.
  16. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am no longer a draft pick. Movin on up.
  17. Aaron is coming around. I really like him batting third. I say keep Pauly at four but move Dye down like you all have been suggesting.
  18. Also, you know you're a die-hard when you keep a pocket schedule in your wallet.
  19. Step #1 to being a die-hard: knowing every player on your team. I know too many friggin flubs fans who pretend they are die-hard and dont know s***. So I'm like "I'll give you some respect if you can name more players on the cubs than I can." And you know what, they usually can't. Don't seem to happen very much with Sox fans.
