  1. I'm getting really tired of Dye too. And unlike guys like Rowand and Konerko, I just have a feeling that things are really not gonna get much better for JD. I would really like to see Anderson up here, but I do agree it could hurt the chemistry. So I am in favor of keeping it as is until Frank comes back and then almost platooning JD and Carl. As far as Wagner goes, if things stay as they are, I think we should go after him. I'm getting ahead of myself but I can just picture now our bullpen trying to get out of jams in teh playoffs. I think if our play still warrants it then, we should go for it. That IS what its all about. Also, I am really getting ahead of things now, but I would rather have el duque in the pen for the playoffs. He just seems like a perfect guy to have in there. He's been through everything before and he already has to grind through every start so it's not that big a change.
  2. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ May 9, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) Well, I don't like having Carl in the field or Frank...so both are DHs period. I don't think there is a perfect answer. Maybe Carl just needs to move around a little...play left....play first...DH...and get in 3-4 games a week, moving around....being a super sub type....who can't field I pretty much agree with this. As others said, Frank should be in almost every game for his OBP. They should be able to find a way to get Carl like 3 starts a week playing matchups. When we face a tough righty who one of the other guys has a hard time hitting, put Carl in there. Otherwise, I think he would be a great pinch-hitter off the bench.
  3. "With the kiss" "Send it down big fella" A little Bill Raftery for y'all.
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 3, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) Thank you. I rest my case, people are going to the park more and more. This team will surpass the attendance mark from last year and maybe pretty easily. We averaged more in this years April then last years and the Yankees series was in April last year. When the weather heats up the park will fill up more and we'll also start stealing some casual fans away from the urinal as we keep winning and the flubs don't. Thats the big thing I think. Once the weather gets warm, the casual fans will start going to Sox games more if they are still winning. Switching up the half-price tuesdays really sucks though. Those were a blast last year.
  5. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 3, 2005 -> 05:15 AM) I'd guess that they would still have the drug in their system. So, they fail, get tested in 5 more days and hope. If they fail again, 5 more days. So on and so forth. Hell, they put the stuff there. Not letting them play until it's not there anymore is only common sense. Makes sense to me.
  6. I agree with most of you in that I like this team a lot more and in the end I think the record will support that. But I definitely agree with what the writer said about why have our record. I think our pitching is extremely responsible for our record. I really think that the hitting will pick up but I have to agree that if our offense continues like this we are going to struggle to play .500 ball.
  7. I would say pitching or middle infielder makes the most sense. Its gonna be a logjam already in the outfield when Frank comes back. Let Everett play like 3 days a week against tough righties or bad matchups or what have you. I'm looking at short and bullpen myself. I'm not sure who is out there to play short but I see it being a weakness most of the year. Otherwise, pitching because I'm not as sure as I used to be that Shingo is gonna come around. Hermanson is not gonna keep it at this level all year ( its impossible) and Politte is not gonna keep it up like this either.
  8. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ May 2, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) The Sox organization has to be very cautious when it comes to Garland and not make the same mistake that they did by resigning Rowand. Garland is only five starts into the season and we all know anything could happen in the remained of his 27 starts. Garland hasn't had a track record for doing fantastic at the big league level, and it is Garland's contract year after all. I'd shy away from throwing any money at Jon for the forseeable future. Not so fast, they did not make a mistake on Aaron. He will hit, and even when he's not he's still a plus defender.
  9. I would have to say I agree that is very hard being a Sox fan. His reason were pretty off but he was on the right track. I love the White Sox and am very happy I at some point in my life chose the Sox or they chose me. But in another way I kind of feel like a masochist. I feel that in the end, every year, I'm just gonna get hurt. Especially the people on this website and others who are similar. We are all die hards. Why else would we spend time writing meaningless messages like this one. I mean there have been times I'll see a guy in a bar wearing a Sox hat and I'll say nice hat and we'll just start talking. This is because I have a certain amount of respect for a person just because they are a Sox fan. I don't know, basically I am just trying to say I agree with the guy who wrote the blog.
  10. f***ing cocksuckers. All of em. Hit the batter. Cause a brawl and then punch the umps.
  11. Lets just hit them, I would rather throw at this team and get some retribution than possibly win. enough is enough.
  12. QUOTE(danman31 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) The thing that annoys me about it is that it doesn't work that way. He claims the games they aren't supposed to win are those 42, but that's not the way baseball works. I always thought of that statement about the other 42 being similar to a Yogism. It's true in a sense of the statement and is clever, but completely misses the point. Exactly. Hawk is right in a sense of when you're looking at the season as whole. But when you try to apply the theory to a single game, you're left with nothing.
  13. QUOTE(mrzo2733 @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) Oh my goodness, who is this guy? I have ripped Garland a ton and am glad to say I am wrong so far. This is incredible. That still doesnt change that he is pretty douchebaggy though.
  14. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 26, 2005 -> 12:18 AM) I SUPPORTED HIM ALL ALONG! Oh my goodness, who is this guy? I have ripped Garland a ton and am glad to say I am wrong so far. This is incredible.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 08:48 PM) There Arow had his night. He got the game winning hit in the 10th. And a game tying hit today. Boo yah.
  16. This just proves how stupid they are. They really, honestly, do not know what they are talking about.
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 12:55 AM) Not really. There was a point behind it. Give the man a full month before ripping him. I think he has earned it. As far as I'm concerned, I will never ever say anything bad about AR. He has been my fav player on the Sox since he crashed into the wall making a catch twice within like a week back like 4 years ago. I've been on the bandwagon from the beginning and I'll go down with the ship if need be (even though that wont be necessary).
  18. I have always loved Ozzie. I used to wear 13 in little league because of him. However, I just have a feeling that way too much blame is being put on Mags for all this stuff. I tend to think that Ozzie is more to blame in this mess than Mags. Both need to just shut the f*** up. I am so sick of hearing people talk about players we used to have and how our atmosphere is so much different. I believe that it is true that the chemistry is much better, but enough about. All this crap is ridiculous. If I go see the Tigers play the Sox, I will clap for Mags when he comes to bat... and proceed to hope he strikes out. I would never want to change the way Ozzie is and acts but he needs to start conducting himself more like a manager and learn to have some tact and that taking the high road is sometimes best.
  19. Whoever started this thread is a moron. That is all.
  20. Its very close. I like Jose and wish him the best because I love the way he plays. But I gotta say Crede. I like his D and who knows, he still has upside if he can ever figure things out. I have a feeling Crede is gonna take a step this year and at this time next year this type of talk will be nonexistant and Crede will be looked at as a staple for a long time to come. Also, on a different note I'm kind of attached to Crede, I can hardly remember the time when I had not heard of him as a prospect. I just hate to see those guys leave.
