QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 10:03 PM) OTOH, Boozer was the Jazz's worst low post defender. Yeah, he's a bit undersized. That's more of an issue in the West. I wouldn't be too worried about it in the East.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 07:53 PM) It's not a huge downgrade when he comes here and plays with Rose. Deron is on another level, but the downgrade isn't gigantic. I'm not sure playing with a European C like Okur helped Boozer either. Probably caused some matchup problems for Boozer having to deal with the opponent's best low post defender. I really like Boozer's game personally and think he's a perfect fit with Rose and Noah. Injuries are my main concern. If all else fails, and we can get Boozer on a 4 year deal I'd love it. Would also give us a valuable expiring contract the year LeBron opts out of his would-be new CLE contract (not that should dictate our moves this off season)...

Though it'll be tough for the Nets to move past the Knicks. It'll be a Cubs/Sox situation where the Sox will always be second fiddle.
-
Definitely. If he's willing to wait 3 years until the move, it'll pay off big time. Of course it could backfire if the Knicks land Melo, Amare, and others and become a power.
-
But it's NJ. Though when it becomes Brooklyn, that's going to be an awesome spot to be. So who knows.

QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 03:01 PM) i dont think the bulls are as close to landing bosh as some people may think.....i see us landing wade if we are lucky and that's about it out of the big 3 Really? Bosh wants the spotlight. He wants to become a superstar. He's made it very apparent that he wants as much attention as he can get. He wants the marketing opportunities. I think he knows Miami or NJ isn't the place for this. Personally, I think this is why Wade has so much sudden interest in CHI. But we all have our theories!

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 02:11 PM) This whole circus is the most annoying thing I have ever seen in my life. These guys need to make up their frickin minds already and stop the media craziness. They are know where they are going to be (IMO) they are just attention-starving media whores who can't get enough of the limelight. And sadly, I am following every gosh darn tweet about them. Both the players and teams are waiting on LeBron, and his decision is the toughest of them all. I doubt there are many formal offers on the table to take.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 4, 2010 -> 01:06 PM) The whole 3 year contract thing doesnt make sense. I thought the whole idea of signing with Cleveland was that Lebron could get more money and after the CBA the new max contract may be lower meaning Lebron may never get that much again? Seems like a lot of contradiction. What's an extra $20 mil or so to a man who's going to make a billion...

RicBucher: But if and when LeBron does re-up in Cle, know that it'll be w/3-yr out. We'll be doing all this again in 2013 + Nets could be formidable. Oh Joy...Another Lebron-a-palooza in 3 years.
-
What's up with Johnson? How do you not sign that offer sheet?
-
The Bulls are not going to sign Lee. Thib would have a fit with his defense.

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 05:53 PM) I understand, but they (reportedly) focused the presentation on this cartoon and how they "know" him. I think that pitch was a calculated mistake because I'm sure LeBron doesn't have a problem with the organization or Cleveland. The problem is that the team has not been able to win a title and it doesn't look they will be able to with their current roster. I think they should've focused more on how they plan on building him a competitive team and less about how he and his boys love inside jokes. They met for an hour. The cartoon was 10 minutes. CLE also been able to talk to LeBron for months. This meeting was meaningless for the Cavs in comparison of what it was for the other teams.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 01:14 PM) Either the Bulls or someone deeply invested in the success of the Bulls has more balls then I imagine. They gave Lebron a package at midnight and thet flat out challenged him to beat Jordan. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie I hope that was the Bulls. That's f***ing brilliant.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 12:43 PM) http://www.tmz.com/2010/07/03/dwyane-wade-...go-bulls-video/ I'm surprised that the TMZ guys didn't get punched by a security guard or something. Poor Chris Bosh...The chicks didn't ask him for his autograph. He looks a little disturbed by that.

QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 10:04 AM) Can someone explain this? From ESPN "The Mavericks were expected to present Nowitzki with the maximum offer. The most he can re-sign for is four years and $96 million." Why would the max only be 4 years? I thought the max was 6 years?? Max contract, I believe, are based on how many years the player has been in the league (or age, something like that).

QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 12:12 AM) It feels so much better being on the other side of the big 3, or big 2 talk. But remembering how I felt about the Miami one it would totally suck for the rest of the nba. I wonder if Stern would approve since it would be in one of the 3 largest markets.
-
Give Bosh a break. He needs to re-adjust to the American culture.
-
The Bulls are not going to pass on their opportunity to land LBJ. Especially when they have a VERY good chance of landing him. They may not wait very long for him to make a decision, but they will present their case and try to get him.
-
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 07:24 PM) If the Bulls swing and miss on Wade, does LBJ at any point in this process feel betrayed by the Bulls or upset with the Bulls? As in, would he think, geeze, these guys tried to sign Bosh/Wade and cut me out? Not saying I believe it, but just throwing out the question. That's what I was thinking. I don't think the Bulls go into their meeting with LeBron without room for him.
-
Isn't David Lee horrendous defensively? I believe someone on ESPN said he was the worst defensive player in this FA crop.
-
I think it's possible that Wade's ties to Miami aren't as strong as people have thought. Miami is like a vacation spot for Wade. Chicago is his and his family's home.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 03:48 PM) ? What happened Caff? Sorry, that should be green. Nobody cares where I work. I got rickrolled like 3 times until Firefox let me start a new session.
-
I just got fired.
-
Deng might actually become attractive.
-
Interesting. So if Bosh would agree to take a couple mil less, there's no way to make that up to him in later years?
