  1. I'd rather the Bulls target Lee instead of Boozer. He'll play all 81 games, and is 2 years younger. And I think Thib could help turn him into a passable defender. Plus, the Bulls window for a title is probably closed for the next 4 years. Go with the younger of the 2, imo.
  2. Ha. Bosh just called himself a winner. He's been one of the best losers in the game.
  3. Blah blah blah I'm not opposed to taking less money to get the players in here to win a championship...blah blah blah. Wade, you are inking yourself a max deal tomorrow guaranteed.
  4. Rose is going to average 25-10-10 and Noah is going to average 22-18 next season while beating both the Cavs and Heat. But the Lakers will beat us in the Finals.
  5. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 11:00 AM) Watching any sport is supposed to be entertainment. So you're saying if the Sox couldn't win a championship, but kept on getting to the ALDS or maybe the ALCS once or twice, you'd rather be the worst team in baseball instead of that? I agree. I'll take an Eastern Conference Finals caliber team right now. It's a whole lot better than what we've had. And there is always hope of making a Finals appearance. s*** can happen. Nice to be in a position to capitalize when that s*** happens. Like Wade breaking his leg or Bosh receiving an elbow from Noah breaking his nose in 3 places.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:39 AM) Yes, but they didnt tie up the guys in the basement and torture them until they agreed. Because of that, they are failures. It's not that they deserve to be canned because they didn't get anyone (I'm not saying to fire them.). It's that this was this regime's defining moment. I have no issue in letting them try to regroup and move forward, but if they can't turn around this franchise in a couple years, they all should be replaced. They put all their eggs into this basket, and it backfired. That's the failed part. We gave up our 1st rd pick this year which is now completely wasted. Regroup fast or get out.
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:18 AM) I agree. The Bulls have to pull off Boozer + Allen and they can still be legit (assuming LeBron to Cleveland). Unfortunately for the Bulls, I don't think Allen's a possibility. His son has a rare case of diabeties or something like that, that's going to keep Allen around his northeastern home. Unlike Wade...
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:18 AM) Exactly. And as much as Chris Broussard is telling us he's going to Miami, I just can't see LeBron's ego allowing that to happen. Could they even afford to pay him a full boat? If they dumped Beasley's $5.0 mil they would have exactly $16.6 mil to pay LeBron's max contract. That's with no S&T for Bosh.
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:15 AM) I'd be pretty suprised if LBJ doesn't either stay with Cleveland or go to the Knicks tomorrow. I agree. If LBJ was coming to Chicago, Bosh would be too.
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:08 AM) their best bet is to be a suck-fest this year and try and get a top 5 pick... ugly option, but in the NBA it's the way it has to go sometimes. But can the Bulls suck that bad with our current roster? Sadly, we are going to need some luck to get out of this hole we are suddenly in. Rose type luck.
  11. Bosh wanted to go to Miami and not Chicago. End of story.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 09:48 AM) If the Bulls didn't offer up Noah, they didn't do everything they could. If you offer up Noah, Toronto agrees to it. And then you see just how much Bosh wants to play in Miami, as in will he take 30 million less to do it when he could go to a big market with a good roster. Had they done that and Bosh said no, i'd rather play with Wade in Miami, then they did everything they could. But they didn't, so we can't say that. How can you possibly know this?
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 09:43 AM) If you're the Bulls, you offer Noah to the Raptors in a sign and trade from the beginning. You had to acquire him to not only avoid coming up empty, but also make Wade make a decision. That is entirely on the Bulls, end of story. If Wade and Bosh were so tied together, make them prove how tied together they were. And getting snuggy with WWW is nice, but every other person surrounded by LeBron is a friend who benefits from him staying in Cleveland (which is why it'd make sense if he stays there). You can't put all of your trust into one guy like that, or you risk looking like an idiot as the Bulls now do. It doesn't matter what the Bulls offered to Toronto. Bosh decides where he ends up in a S&T.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 09:35 AM) Well we don't know everything they did wrong for sure. But it sounds like the two biggest mistakes were buying into the relevance of William Wesley in LeBron's circle and not securing Chris Bosh first (even if it took giving up the almighty Joakim Noah) to take away Wade's options in Miami in terms of getting help. Acquring Bosh early on also would have made Chicago an even more attractive spot. I don't think it was possible to secure Bosh. Bosh and Wade have been tied at the hip this whole process.
  15. They said something interesting on Sportscenter about Wade just being a recruting tool for the Heat and meeting with teams just to take that information back to the Heat. What a bulls*** f***ing move. f*** Wade.
  16. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 11:07 PM) Just to give you guys some false hope, guess where Lebron will be on Friday.... http://www.neobasketball.com/Tournaments/S...owcaseHome.html I actually kind of feel Lebron may come to Chicago. He waited until his Cleveland camp was over and now he makes his announcement the day before his Chicago camp? Quite the coincidence if it indeed is one. I'm with you. I have a sneaky suspicion.
  17. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:40 PM) Maybe ESPN asked him. Who knows? Wade and Bosh have been parading around in the media for days, I can give Lebron 1 hour if he gets down to business. It actually makes me glad because I dont have to read this thread or worry what is going on. Thursday night everything will happen. (imo) As for disrespectful, how would it be disrespectful if Lebron gave a speech about how Cleveland was his home and he loves it, but some times you have to move on? Itd be more respectful for him to just leave in the middle of the night? I agree. Hearing it from the horse's mouth is the most respectful way to either return or leave. LeBron's handled this process very well. Not sure why it's an hour long though.
  18. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 07:56 PM) The thing with whiffing is what can you do? Say LBJ and Wade both return to their teams, and Bosh follows Wade (A. because him and Wade are lovers, and B. because he wants the extra year and Toronto won't S&T with us), then what could the Bulls really do in that situation? Nothing. The Bulls have played this flawlessly as far as I have seen. It's not like baseball where you can ultimately flash more green to pursued players.
  19. Might be the dumbest comment of the off season.
  20. Portland was young talent not established stars. What a stupid comment.
  21. The only S&T demand that makes sense to me is Bosh's. He's not going to make nearly as much off endorsements as Wade. Wade's going to make hundreds of millions off the court. I just don't buy the "only way Wade leaves Miami is through a S&T" jibber jabber. If he wants to be in Chicago, he's going to be in Chicago.
  22. Is the hometown max contract really that much more? It's an extra year, but when the 5 year deal is up, they are going to sign for $20+ mil for that 6th year anyways. It guarantees more money, but will it really be THAT much more than what players like Bosh and Wade will make anyways?
  23. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 06:36 PM) Havent readthat, all ive seen is that multiple meetings pointing to desperation on knicks part, and that knicks are believed to be far down on james list, nets bulls cavs is what my thoughts were It's been on Sportscenter. The idea of Amare and LeBron this off season with Carmelo joining next off season. Carmelo I guess wants to play in NY.
  24. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 06:08 PM) Depends on what the "fill-in" is. They'd have a lot of cap room to add something legit in the backcourt. However, I think it's moot. They won't deal Noah for Bosh unless they know Lebron or Wade is coming as well. Looking at it from LeBron's or Wade's point of view, wouldn't you much rather player with Noah and Boozer than just Bosh? I know they're friends and all, but Noah/Boozer is a much stronger situation to come into, imo.
