  1. Word is Reyes activated Mulder to DL, Pujols activated Duncan sent to AAA.. waiting on confirmation
  2. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 10:19 AM) At Tuesday's game, they had a stat on the board that said the Cardinals are 11-2 against the NL East this year. It's true.. 3-0 vs Phillies 3-0 vs Marlins 3-1 vs Nationals 2-1 vs Mets Doesnt mean much but we're a decent team if we arent playing against our own crappy division (I guess the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th records go real far from a bad division in a crappy league).. we're less than .500 in own division games this year.. Check out the whole NL really Best Records: NYM: 44-27 (NL East, 1st) STL: 42-28 (NL Central, 1st) CIN: 39-33 (NL Central, 2nd; Wild Card, 1st) SDG: 38-33 (NL West, 1st) HOU: 37-35 (NL Central, 3rd; Wild Card, 2nd) LAD: 36-35 (NL West, 2nd; Wild Card, 3rd) ARI: 36-36 (NL West, 3rd; Wild Card, 4th) COL: 36-36 (NL West, 3rd; Wild Card, 4th) SFG: 36-36 (NL West, 3rd; Wild Card, 4th) MIL: 36-37 (NL Central, 4th; Wild Card, 7th) PHI: 35-37 (NL East, 2nd; Wild Card, 8th) Yea.. :puke And the Reds are winning 2-0 over Pedro and the Mets.. about to drop 3 of 4 to the Reds.. Wow I guess Ican see why the Cards are like 18-19 vs the NL Central.. Edit - Ok maybe the Mets wont lose 3/4 to the Reds.. they just exploded..
  3. QUOTE(bmags @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 12:21 PM) mets have to be considered the best in the NL right now...but if they are beating up on these midgets...then i have no respect for them. I dont get that either.. Cards took 2/3 from the Mets pretty easily.. Mets have just lost 2/3 to Baltimore at home and currently 2/3 to the Reds at home.. Not as if the Mets are clear and away the best team in the NL.. It's the Cardinals and Mets this year (nobody else really concerns from the NL side unless the season changes).. and those two are a big dropoff from the AL's teams..
  4. Not surprising.. that's Selig for ya.. once an ass, always an ass.. There are other things he should worry about besides a little plunking here and there.. it's not as if the Cards and Sox fought..
  5. QUOTE(peanut33tillman @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 11:46 AM) I believe BA getting plunked was intentional simply out of frustration though I believe the Ozuna pegging was just a case where the pitch got away from Ponson, with that being said Cards15 we appreciate you here providing alot of insight and not being like other jackasses that roam around here from other teams...at least from my standpoint it's been a pleasure with you posting here It's cool.. I dont have time to be an ass and Im not but if I was now would be the wrong team to be one.. we're getting our asses handed to us.. I appreciate and respect the White Sox and wish em well again this year.. it's a tough time right now and it could very well be a sweep tonight but I still root on the Sox.. I can stand losing to ya'll.. of course it's never easy losing games.. I sure as hell am not sure of a time I remember seeing the slaughtering we are getting.. but I'll live with it
  6. QUOTE(G&T @ Jun 22, 2006 -> 11:13 AM) To me, Duncan is either a liar or a complete idiot if he thinks Ponson didn't hit those guys intentionally. But I guess we have enough discussion on that around here. So it was intentional? Here I was thinking Ponson sucked ass (hence the reason he was moved to the pen) and wouldnt hit anybody with the bases loaded.. if he did hit em intentionally he sucks even worse ass than I thought..
  7. Maybe he should STFU and get our pitchers learning how to pitch again.. STFU Duncan.. you useless bum
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 11:03 PM) That's what I'm saying, their starting rotation is nothing special and their lineup is no where near that of the Mets. The only teams worth a damn in the NL would be the Mets and Cards and IMO the Mets are the stronger of the two. And I'd be 80% certain right now if these two teams met the Cards would come out on top.. That's just me already seeing the Cards beat the Mets this year.. Mets didnt look like anything special when we played em (except when Glavine had a good game).. hell Mulder had 8.1 shutout innings against em.. Izzy came in with the bases loaded in a 1-0 game with 1 out to get out Floyd and Wright.. And Houston aint all that either.. neither is Cincy.. the NL West wont be a threat either despite all those teams being decent this year.. It still should come down to the Cards and Mets.. but again it's sorta early so if the Astros improve and make a run at the Wild Card.. I would not be surprised to see an NLCS of Houston/St. Louis for the 3rd straight year.. but I think it'll be the Cards and Mets.. Met's may look like the favorite but I'd take our chances.. But again that's just me having faith in my team again..
  9. Far and away the best team? Actually while the Cards are playing crappy.. it just shows how crappy the NL is.. Cards will still be an NL Contender.. They've already played the Mets very good this year.. And the Mets just lost 2/3 at home to the Orioles and Reds.. with the Reds again tommorow some team that is too..
  10. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 09:09 PM) You could try Timo at 1b. I'd rather have him pitch than Marquis.. shoulda started him.. Goin for the tommorow with Reyes on the mound.. poor kid!
  11. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) Man. Encarnacion hitting .420 in June. Pretty good considering today is the 21th. Too bad he cant pitch.. Wow Timo got a hit
  12. Really hoping you pissed this Cards team off enough for this weekend.. was that the plain?
  13. Pull out our starters.. oh wait.. Holy crap.. I didnt think Marquis was gonna pitch worse than Mulder.. granted he's pitched .2 IP more.. but s***.. Very pissed right now..
  14. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 07:58 PM) Didn't Edmonds delay a stint on the DL when Pujols went down? Dude's tough as nails... Yep and played first for a bit.. he could barely run at the time.. about a week later moved back to CF..
  15. Gosh damnit.. hell of an attempt but he probably has a concussion.. TIMO!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Just painful.. Get Marquis the hell outta there.. put in Wainwright
  17. Well I'll just throw this here.. Plenty of news Posted by Matthew Leach on Wednesday, 21 June 2006 at 05:28 PM Couple of updates, and I'll follow through with more information in my notebook later this evening... 1. Anthony Reyes is here, though he won't be added to the roster until tomorrow. He will start Thursday's game against Freddy Garcia and the White Sox. No word on who will be sent out to make room, and La Russa would not give anything up as to whether this is only a one-start deal or it's more than that. My guess is this is not a one-start thing, but we shall see. 2. The manager did deliver some very encouraging news on Pujols. He said he fully expects No. 5 to play against Cleveland next week. Pujols had another extensive workout today, even more intense than yesterday's, and he seems to be doing well. As always, a big part of the equation will be how he recovers tomorrow. -M. [Here] Is it raining or anything? Will the game be played? Cards: 1. SS David Eckstein 2. LF So Taguchi 3. 3B Scott Rolen 4. RF Juan Encarnacion 5. CF Jim Edmonds 6. DH Hector Luna 7. C Yadier Molina 8. 1B Chris Duncan 9. 2B Aaron Miles White Sox: 1. LF Scott Podsednik 2. 2B Tad Iguchi 3. DH Jim Thome 4. 1B Paul Konerko 5. RF Jermaine Dye 6. C A.J. Pierzynski 7. 3B Joe Crede 8. CF Rob Mackowiak 9. SS Juan Uribe
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 01:21 PM) Your biggest problem with Marquis on the mound? You're in an AL park, so the DH rule is in effect. And that's why I'm worried.. not to mention playing the Sox.. oh well we'll take our beatings from ya if we can beat up the Tigers this weekend
  19. Marquis is our 2nd best pitcher and that's very sad.. I do however have confidence in him unlike the other starters save Carp.. I dont feel that good tonight but I hope it's a better game and we somehow sneak this one out..
  20. All I can do is laugh so And yes Chris Duncan is Dave Duncan's son..
  21. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 10:36 PM) how about tony yelling at ponson? Brilliant.. he was mad about being moved to the pen too.. he's gaining his weight back.. supposedly he could ask for a release and I'd be fine with it!!!! QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 10:38 PM) As a Cards fan, you have more insight than I do about Mark Mulder. I heard Hawk mention he's lost velocity on his fastball. Is that true, and is that the only problem with Mulder's pitching? Break it down for us Sox fans. Alright I'll take a shot but it wont hit much.. He started the year off fine and his pitching was hitting the spots.. he was like 5-2 with a 3.4 ERA mid May.. he came off a stellar 8.1 IP of shutout ball against the Mets.. since then he just doesnt have it.. He missed a start due to back problems and one has to think he's injured and trying to pitch.. He doesnt have velocity, he cant spot pitches, etc.. at leastwhat most Cards fans are feeling now is he's trying to pitch hurt.. Not a good time for the Cards pitching wise.. they we're strong all year until recently.. I dun get it!
  22. LoL good blowout guys.. I'm just glad we scored a few runs in the 9th, lol.. Hoping it'll be better soon..
