ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Scott Spiezio and the St. Louis Cardinals agreed to a $4.5 million, two-year contract on Thursday, keeping one of the team's top reserves with the World Series champions. (Seems fine with me)

Scott Spiezio, a switch hitter who played five different positions last season, signed a two-year contract with the defending World Series champions on Thursday. Financial terms of the deal, which includes a club option for 2009, were not disclosed. In the postseason, Spiezio added six RBI, including a game-tying two-run triple in Game Two of the National League Championship Series against the New York Mets. "You hear the term winning player and that's what Scott is," Cardinals general manager Walt Jocketty said. "Scott showed once again why he has been tabbed with such a label. Good stuff.. I dont care much we pay him.. he had a great leadership role as a Cardinal and he's been a great Cardinal.. he deserves to end his career with STL!

I have nothing to say on this.. Rogers said it was a clump of dirt.. Ha.. Either way the man shut us down.. that's all that's to be said.. wether he shoulda or not been pitching after the first..

I'm just glad despite all the struggles our team is back in the World Series.. of course we dont stand a chance but I'll take that chance.. We didnt stand a chance of making the playoffs.. made em.. didnt stand a chance to beat the Padres.. beat em.. didnt stand a chance against the Mets.. beat em.. dont stand a chance against the Tigers? We'll see what happens.. Honestly I just want my team to show up in the WS this year and get a couple wins at that.. a WS title would be amazing though.. the chances of that happening arent great but who knows? That's why they play the games!

Been a tough road, a tough season, but sorta fun.. I'm not happy with the year they had but ya never know.. anything can happen in the playoffs!

Trade is official.. Unimpressed honestly.. Loved Luna myself.. He shoulda been our everyday 2B, but we went with that bum AAron Miles.. If anything this does improve our 2B position and offense but the most important part to this.. Miles shouldnt be out there everyday.. Thanks for that much Hector!
