I don't think we will ever see Frank at 1st base again, regardless of Konerko's health. If Konerko gets hurt we would see Gload play 1st. It's not worth the risk and I think the organization finally realizes it.
I just heard an interview with Frank and he said that he would start his minor league rehab assignment sometime next week and he feels that he will be back with the Sox sooner than expected. He said he is feeling alot better and doesn't think he will need many at bats in the minors because he has been hitting so much BP.
Never, IMO. Hopefully Cotts will be replaced as soon as possible. He can learn some control in Charlotte. My heart can't take watching Cotts come into a game and issue a leadoff walk every damn outing.
So leadoff walks and other walks won't hurt in long relief? It may not hurt as much but it will still hurt. Cotts has 54 career walks and 75 career strikeouts. That's terrible. I have no doubt that Kenny will deal for a lefty reliever at the deadline.
Ozzie using Cotts in wrong situations is no excuse to walk the first guy he faces EVERYTIME.

That's not good. But I have no doubt that Kenny will make a move for a RELIABLE lefty reliever if we are still winning like crazy by the trading deadline.
I think it's quite obvious already what we will need to trade for by the deadline -- a reliable lefty reliever that doesn't issue leadoff walks. Cotts may be good in time but right now he does not have enough control to be reliable in high pressure situations.
Damn straight...
