  1. I would be fine with Jeff Blake. He showed he still has an arm when he played for the Ravens in 2002 and the Cardinals in 2003. He would be a decent backup.

  3. "f*** you Jobu, I do it myself!"
  4. Joe has such great power that it's depressing that he can't make contact on a consistent basis. Maybe if he lost the "deer-in-the-headlights" look and opened his eyes when he's at bat, he could make more contact. "Zzzzzzzzzzzzz..."
  5. No, we just realize that he's a bust while you keep holding out hope. It's an exercise in futility. You always love to bring up stats. Why don't you bring up Joe's awesome career AVG and OBP?
  6. Yep. The best free agent QB's left are Jeff Blake and Quincy Carter. Since Carter is a coke-head, I would take my chances on Blake.
  7. Against the worst lineup in baseball. Sergio Mitre of the Flubs even made the Royals look silly yesterday. Agreed. The less innings for Diaz, the better.
  8. According to the box score, the Sox are winning 3-0. Anyone know how we scored 3 runs?
  9. Diaz pitched 16.2 innings as a reliever last season. He could have just managed to get by without getting rocked for that amount of time, even with his crappy no speed/no movement fastball. Getting by for 16.2 innings didn't suddenly make Diaz's fastball any better.
  10. Agreed. There are scouts in camp that are interested in Adkins. Adkins has trade value. When we signed Pierzynski and sent Jamie Burke down to Charlotte he had to clear waivers and no other team even bothered to claim him. How could Burke have any trade value if other teams had a chance to claim him but didn't even bother to?
  11. Bingo, and we all know what happens to guys who throw slow, straight fastballs -- they get rocked.
  12. Fiedler is a loser with no arm. Did you see the ridiculously stupid picks he threw last season? I know he had no offensive line but damn, it was almost like he was trying to throw the ball to the other team's players.
  13. We need a backup SS right? Trade Felix Diaz for Mike Caruso!

  15. The phrase "showcasing Felix Diaz" is an oxymoron.
  16. I would like to see both Paulie and Frank back again next season but... Frank at DH & Gload at 1B > Gload at DH & Konerko at 1B
  17. http://rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/p...ort=NFL&id=2160 Damn. I guess Jeff Blake is still available.

  19. Funny. Sabathia will miss opening day and Buehrle is our opening day starter. And I didn't know Shingo's last name was Sasaki. :headshake
  20. There were also news articles saying that the Sox were close to signing Vizquel. Vizquel himself said that he was almost a White Sox but signed with the Giants at the last minute.
  21. He is at camp. I'm sure he sees the scouts there.
  22. http://www.suntimes.com/output/sox/cst-spt-sox14.html This actually makes alot of sense. Keep in mind that signing Jeremy Giambi was Reinsdorf's call, not Kenny's. This is why Kenny refused to comment on the signing. Also, keep in mind that both Giambi and Frank have the same agent, Arn Tellum. Reinsdorf loves Frank and knows how important it is that he retires as a member of the White Sox. But Jerry also knows that his $10 million player option / $12 million team option is alot of money and they still need to re-sign Paulie. Maybe Jerry is trying to angle for a restructured 3-year retirement contract for a little bit less money to help Frank hit 500 homers in a White Sox uniform.
  23. You would be wrong then. Yesterday on ESPN 1000, Bruce Levine said that there were a few teams interested in Borchard. Other teams have scouts at every Sox game to look at Borchard, Willie, and Adkins.
