  1. I would love to have Castillo as our #2 hitter. He can bunt and steal bases. I don't mind that he has no power whatsoever. He is a perfect #1 or #2 hitter. But at the same time, I would hate to give up Marte. I do think that Marte and Willie for Castillo would be a fair trade. I still don't see it happening though.
  2. I would say a 6-man bullpen... Hermanson Cotts Vizcaino Politte Marte Shingo Both Hermanson and Cotts can eat alot of innings and can even spot start if we have injuries to our rotation. Let's just hope it doesn't come to that though. Hopefully, we will have a new 2nd baseman taking up a roster spot soon.
  3. Here's some pics I found of Iguchi. Most of them are from Tadahito-Iguchi.com:
  4. No offence, but why does anyone bother to repeat rumors from any MLB.com board? They are all filled with bogus rumors and lies. Stick with believable rumors like the ones from ESPN 1000, WSCR 670, Rotoworld.com, etc. I'd love for this trade rumor to be true but I have only seen it sourced from the WhiteSox.com message board.

  6. I agree but Miguel Cairo was already signed. There are no quality 2nd basemen left. I would like Barry Larkin on a 1-year deal but he is still looking for a guaranteed starting job. And still, Larkin is a righty bat but he actually hits righties better than lefties. He can't seem to hit lefties at all.
  7. Now let's sign Iguchi for that $75 million payroll we were promised.

  12. Cody Ransom signed with the Flubs. Osuna is expected to sign with the Nationals.
  13. He doesn't walk and he strikes out alot. We should still take a flier on him considering our 2nd base situation. 15. If you read those boards for long enough you will realize why. It's filled with trolls (some Cubs fans / Sox bashers) and people who like to make up bogus trade rumors.

  19. No, he didn't. The Cardinals were rumored to be signing him but they signed Grudzielanek to play 2B instead. They may still be interested in him though. But as of right now, Alomar is still a free agent.
  20. Mota is on the Marlins now. He was involved in the Brad Penny, Hee Seop Choi for Lo Duca and Mota trade of last season.
  21. Donald Lucy in Great Falls White Sox ®. He is years away from the big leagues though.
  22. I found it. Here is the article. The quote is in Bob Nightengale's "THE BUZZ" section on the right side of the page... http://www.usatoday.com/sports/bbw/columni...ading-off_x.htm
  23. Ray Durham 2005 - $6.5 million 2006 - $7.0 million player option (which Durham will no doubt accept)
  24. The Red Sox and the Yankees were both interested but Boston traded for infielder Ramon Vazquez and lost interest. The Yankees showed luke-warm interest in Iguchi but they signed Tony Womack to start at 2nd base. Plus, they have been more worried about Randy Johnson lately.
