Jenks' ERA is down to 2.87 after last night's game, just to correct my earlier 3.00 ERA stat. He had 2 K's in 1.1 innings and didn't allow a hit or issue a walk. He now has 15 saves for Birmingham. He only blew 1 save, correct?
I don't think Shingo is going anywhere with his $2.5 million salary. They will unfortunately let him work out his kinks as our bullpen's jizz-mopper in blowouts.
The problem with Shingo is that he can't get his one good pitch, the frisbee, over the plate. Then he gets a 3-0 count and has to throw his weak sauce 85 MPH meatball over the heart of the plate. Without good control, Shingo is worthless.
Giants release Brower; more moves to come?"

Brower is an inning-eater and he can apparently still throw 94. He is off to a really rough start but he had a pretty good season last year. Our 40-man roster is only at 39 right now. Would he be worth picking up with the hopes that he could turn it around with a winning team? I don't see how he could be any worse than Shingo.

Jim Brower's career stats
And Willie is now hitting .237. I have a feeling that he will be sent down once Gload is healthy. I also don't think much of Willie's ability to play SS.
I'm not saying I want to trade Carl but he is starting to light it up. He is now hitting .270 with 8 homers and 40 RBI's while playing semi part-time so far this season. He is also showing that he can still play both corner outfield spots. His trade value is rising to both A.L. and N.L. contenders now. If Frank shows that he can stay healthy and be the everyday DH, I think Carl could bring a good reliever in a trade. I'm not saying I want to trade Carl. It's just some food for thought.
