Good idea. I still don't think we would get a prospect in a trade of (Vizcaino or Shingo) and Timo though. I think it would just be a 2-for-1 trade.
Shingo's 2005 salary: $2.5 million
Vizcaino's 2005 salary: $1.3 million
Timo's 2005 salary: $1.0 million
--------------------------------------------------
Feliz's 2005 salary: $2.43 million
Feliz's 2006 salary: $3.63 million
I could see a trade of Vizcaino and Timo for Feliz. I think we are stuck with Shingo at $2.5 million though. The open roster spot would then go to Gload when he is healthy. Feliz could then be our starting 3rd baseman next season and we could cut ties with Cruddy and Borass. The problem is that I'm not sure Feliz is worth $3.63 million for next season.
I think he can still hit .300 but his homerun total will be WAAAY down from knocking them out at the Cell. I would say 10 at the most for the rest of the season.
Today, Jake Westbrook and the Indians' bullpen was able to hold the Padres' offense to 3 runs on 3 hits. The Padres still ended up winning the game 3-2 because Eaton started for the Padres. Now we face their 3 worst pitchers and struggling offense while they are facing our 3 best pitchers. We should be able to take 2 of 3 this weekend.
Wow, Wilson Valdez is now a Padre...

How many teams will Wilson Valdez be on this season? White Sox, Mets, Mariners, Padres...

Some good will finally come out of Ozzie's sweep lineup this time...

We got the sweep and our guys are rested and fresh for tomorrow.
I wouldn't call Mackowiak a "terrible infielder." He's obviously not as good defensively at 3rd base as Crede and as good as Willie at 2nd base but he's far from a butcher at both of those positions.
Well, Konerko puts up good power numbers and still manages to put up a decent OBP (.351) by drawing walks. He is not free from criticism either. But Crede is hitting .229 with a measly .300 OBP. That is pathetic.
He can hit and he can run. He obviously can't play 3rd base and he's prone to brain-farts on the base paths. I only want to see him in LF, 2B, and some SS. Kenny needs to go after a 3rd baseman.
That was all in the past yet most of the sports media still bring it up. As far as we know, Carl has done no wrong in the Sox clubhouse. They also loved him in Texas in 2003. The bad temperment stuff is from his days with the Red Sox and Astros.
