whose the most hated sox pitcher?
Yep, that guy made watching every 5th Sox game painful.

whose the most hated sox pitcher?
For sure on Gabe Kapler. That guy is a beast. He must have been on the Giambi plan.

Ryan Drese
He also would have overpaid Orlando Cabrera. :headshake

Ryan Drese
He's gone and he isn't worth $2 million.

Shingo against Left Handed Hitters
As long as you don't mind Shingo serving up some deep shots. He has given up 5 homers to lefty batters in 7.1 innings... http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...0968&statType=2 Vizcaino is getting killed by lefties this season -- 17 hits, 8 BB's, and only 3 K's in 10.0 innings... http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...0430&statType=2 Not this season.

Mother of all trades suggestion
I know Randa doesn't really have much HR power but he hits to all parts of the field. He can also bunt and has a solid glove. I could care less if he keeps up his current HR pace. Just consistently hit, bunt, and play solid defense. I'm sure that's all Ozzie wants from his 3rd baseman as well but Crede can only handle playing good defense consistently. Crede hits lefties a helluvalot better than righties. Just look at his splits on the season. His career splits show the same trend. Crede could start against lefties and also be a late-inning defensive replacement for Randa. He could also give Randa a day off whenever he needs one since he is 35 afterall. Randa has been killing righties a lot more than lefties this season as his splits show. Randa would start against almost all righties. Here's ESPN's scouting report on Randa... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/scouting?statsId=5298 Randa is not a star or anything like that. He's just a solid, fundamental player. No offence to Joe, but he's basically everything that Crede is not. I'm sure Randa could help this team in a big way. If we traded for Randa at the deadline or maybe a month before it, his prorated salary wouldn't cost much -- around $1 million or less. He would be an inexpensive trade option, both in the way of prospects and added salary, that would definately improve our lineup.

Mother of all trades suggestion
He's 35 but he can apparently still rake. I'd take him. He signed a 1-year deal with the Reds for only $2.15 million. I sure wish Kenny would have given Randa the $2 million he wasted on Ben Davis and Timo Perez. I guess he can still trade for him though.

Mother of all trades suggestion
Even though Randa is smoking the ball, the Reds still can't expect much in return for a 35 year old 3rd baseman that's playing on a 1-year deal. A couple of mid-level prospects would probably get it done. What other teams need a 3rd baseman for the stretch run?
-
Mother of all trades suggestion
Wow, Randa is just killing the ball... Joe Randa .299 AVG .377 OBP .492 SLG .869 OPS 8 HR 35 RBI 24 BB 30 SO Because his OBP (.377) is so high, the Reds are actually batting him 2nd in their lineup.

Around The Majors
Hillenbrand would be a great trade target. He could play 3rd base for us this season and then we could move him to 1st base and dump Konerko after the season is over. I thought he was a butcher at 3rd base but he made some nice plays against us in that series at Toronto. Since he probably won't be signing, we'd be better off giving up some average prospects for Randa. He is tearing it up.

Heave the Hawk Conglomeration Thread
I just thought it was funny that Hawk's catch-phrases bother the person so much that they would make a website about him.

Feliz to the Sox?
Supposedly, Jayson Stark hinted at a Giants and Sox trade when he was on XM radio and that the Sox are talking to them about Pedro Feliz.

I like Hawk but it's still a pretty funny site.

"Secret's out: Leadoff men back in vogue"
It's pointless to even think this way. The Brewers are stacked with good 1st basemen. They already have Lyle Overbay and they may even trade him because they have Prince Fielder in the minors. They would not have wanted Konerko.

Ichiro
No one is "s***ting all over themselves" but .300 is "meh" for Ichiro. Hell, Iguchi has been hitting around .300 for most of the season so far and this is his rookie season in the MLB.
-
Ichiro
Most likely. But they sure must be pissed that they signed Beltre to that huge contract now. :puke
-
Ichiro
Not that Ichiro needs any but there's also no protection in the Mariners' lineup. Their whole lineup is struggling.

Feliz to the Sox?
Yep, I've noticed that as well. He hasn't been able to throw the frisbee over the plate all season. Of course, his 85 MPH fastball is always served up for a meatball right over the heart of the plate. :headshake

Feliz to the Sox?
The problem is that Shingo either completely fools someone for a K or gives up a bomb. He fools batters when he gets ahead in the count like he did all of last season. This season, Shingo has been getting behind the first batter he faces 3-0 almost every outing. Then he has to throw a "get-me-over" 85 MPH fastball right down the pipe. Those pitches get crushed by major league hitters. Unless Shingo starts consistently getting ahead of batters in the count, he is worthless.

And successfully stealing 2nd or even 3rd base is even more effective than bunting because obviously you don't burn an out doing so.
