My point was that Ozzie getting along with the players has nothing to do with his bad managerial decisions. Being a players' manager doesn't get him off the hook when he makes bad moves.

It's obvious that they are just trying to cruise by until Gload gets healthy. But it's pathetic that they are risking not having a backup 1st baseman just so they can keep Timo on the roster.

Ozzie can only start Timo at 1st base. He doesn't trust him enough to use him there for just 1 inning. :headshake My dead grandmother could have rolled out of her grave and over home plate faster than Paulsy did.

What does any of that have to do with bad managerial decisions?

And once again, Hermanson has gotten a few saves on awesome defensive plays to end the inning.

I think you would have to be a fool not to notice how many of Hermanson's saves have come after awesome defensive plays by guys like Crede and Uribe. Hermanson is good but he isn't that great, folks. Especially not against a team like the Padres that have seen him a lot.

That is my only problem. I actually liked that he stayed in the game. But let him swing away. Even if he hits into the DP, Uribe scores.

I don't have a problem with Buehrle staying in the game to hit. I have a problem with Ozzie making him bunt, especially on a 2 strike count. Let him swing away. He made contact in two AB's. He even hit a deep fly. Instead he was showing bunt on a 2 strike count. That is moronic for a guy who never bunts.
