  6. They choked with a runner at 3rd base with 1 out. :puke http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...ndpost&p=723066
  7. Well, Garland will likely be there at least. Who cares if he starts.
  8. Cesar Izturis reaches 2nd base on a throwing error by Juan Castro. No outs. Hee Seop Choi bunts him to 3rd base. 1 out. J.D. Drew up. Drew grounds out. Izturis stays at 3rd base. 2 outs now. IBB to Jeff Kent. Runners at the corners. 2 outs. Jayson Werth up. Werth flies out. Inning over. f***ing garbage. :finger
  9. Duaner Sanchez strikes out Lew Ford, grounds out Luis Rodriguez, and strikes out Joe Mauer. Inning over.
  10. Yep, but it shouldn't have been. Rowand's catch was more impressive and it saved the entire game.
  11. Rowand's catch was ESPN's #4 Web Gem. Should have been #1 considering it was the whole game.
  12. Yep, the problem is that we need someone who can play 1st and 3rd base. Norton can play both positions but he is a butcher at 3rd. I wouldn't trust Burke there either. Maybe a trade is coming?
  13. There would have been an easier way of clearing a spot on the 40-man roster -- OMIT TIMO! It's too bad Kenny didn't think of it. So do you guys think a trade is in the works or is it just to bring up Burke or Norton?
  14. Norton has actually had some success in the majors. Dransfeldt never had any.
  15. LOL. I just remember him from 1999 when he hit pretty well for us. He was a butcher at 3rd base though.
  16. Norton DH'ed in yesterday's game for Charlotte. He was 1 for 2 with a single and 2 BB's. Greg Norton's stats for Charlotte 107 AB .280 AVG .369 OBP .439 SLG .808 OPS 4 HR 18 RBI 15 BB 15 SO
  17. Don't. He quit because he wasn't good. You beat me to the punch!
  18. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/scouting?statsId=6494 We already have a guy with a long swing who's an easy strikeout victim. I also wouldn't want him if he can barely play 1st base.
  19. I would have liked that as well but Phelps can barely play 1st base. He is a pure DH.
  20. Unfortunately, Honel is just another player in the long line of Sox draft busts. I'm hoping to see Norton back. He is doing pretty well for Charlotte and he would make a good switch-hitting pinch-hitter that can backup Paulie and maybe even play some 3rd base. But you're right, it could be either. Especially with Ozzie's man-love for Burke.
