  1. Good lord. Why do people think we need another outfielder? We need a 3rd baseman and a lefty reliever. We don't need another outfielder.
  2. I bet Carl gets dealt for a reliever or 3rd baseman at or before the deadline.
  3. Yeah, Frank absolutely crushed the ball. A 440 foot straight-away shot over the rocks in CF at Coors. They have a replay of the homerun at WhiteSox.com. Click on the #2 news section and it's labeled "Thomas goes deep:".
  4. And you believe him? Saying he won't trade Everett is one way to get teams to offer more for him. Frank has 2 pinch-hit homers already and needs to be our DH everyday. That would leave little playing time for Everett. Although, it's nice to have Everett as insurance in case we have an injury.
  5. And Randa's bat could still help us more than Crede's good chemistry. The fact is that he is hitting .229. Crede could still remain on the team for his cheerleading services though.
  6. The only question that Kenny probably has is -- is Joe Randa a "grinder"? If so, I think he will go after him.
  7. I agree that it would suck to downgrade our defense at 3rd base. The best and cheapest likely solution is probably this one... http://www.usatoday.com/sports/bbw/columni...08-majors_x.htm Randa is just about as good defensively as Crede at 3rd base and his bat is light-years ahead. He can even BUNT!!!
  8. I would take Hillenbrand in a second. I thought he was a butcher at 3rd base but he made some nice plays against us in our series at Toronto. He obviously doesn't have the glove that Crede has but his bat is 100 times better. He could even move to 1st base after the season is over and we could let Konerko go.
  9. Agreed. The only reason Crede is our starting 3rd baseman is because he is the only one who has the glove to handle the position. I love Ozuna but he was a butcher at 3rd base last night. Obviously, Kenny saw this. I wouldn't doubt that he is looking for someone who could at least platoon with Crede at 3rd base, if not start full-time there. Agreed. If Crede can hit .250 I think he stays. I just have no hope in him doing so. By the way, I never suggested trading Crede in a deal for Feliz.
  10. I'm not saying that Kenny is going to trade for Feliz but I do think he will look to upgrade 3rd base by the deadline if Crede continues to hit near the Mendoza Line. By the way, I never suggested trading Crede in a deal for Feliz.
  11. Was meant to be in green? He's hitting .229 and he can't even lay down a bunt, that's why. He hits an occasional homerun once every couple weeks but does nothing else on offense. He only provides good defense for our team.
  12. Anyone think that Kenny saw that Cruddy couldn't even lay down a f***ing bunt and that was the last straw? Maybe now he's looking at all available 3rd basemen after that crap?
  13. I don't see how it's "laughable." Crede is "laughable." If you don't think that Kenny is looking at all available 3rd baseman right now, you're nuts. How long do you think he is going to stick with a .229 hitting Crede? All of the f***ing Flubs' pitchers can hit for a higher average than that.
  14. I could see the Giants taking Everett and either Vizcaino or Shingo honestly. We would need Feliz because he can play 3rd base and 1st base. They would replace Feliz, who is currently playing LF, with Everett and get some more bullpen help hoping that either Vizcaino or Shingo could turn it around. Remember, Carl is 33 and the Giants love old guys.
  15. Bullpen help, I would assume. They have found out that LaChoke Hawkins doesn't have it anymore.
  16. Wouldn't it make more sense for the Giants to keep Pedro Feliz and try to trade us 3B/2B Edgardo Alfonzo? Oh wait, Feliz can play 3B, SS, 1B, and the outfield. I guess Feliz would make more sense for us.
  17. Here are my realistic trade ideas... 1.) First, play Carl Everett in LF some more and show other teams that he can get the job done there. 2.) Trade LF Carl Everett to the Atlanta Braves for LHP John Foster and a pitching prospect. The Braves desperately need some offense in their outfield before they fall out of the division race entirely. We get another lefty for the bullpen so there's less pressure on Marte. 3.) Trade 2B Willie Harris, OF Joe Borchard, and the Atlanta prospect to the Pittsburgh Pirates for UTIL Rob Mackowiak. The Pirates are out of the division race once again and will be sellers at the deadline. Mackowiak is under a 1-year deal for only $1.5 million but he will be due more money in arbitration after the great season he is having. The Pirates could use a 2nd baseman and leadoff hitter in Willie and hope that Borchard becomes a decent power-hitting outfielder. They would also receive the Braves' pitching prospect that we obtained in the earlier Everett trade. The Pirates can always use young, cheap pitching talent. Some people may not want to trade Willie but the addition of Mackowiak would make him expendable. Mackowiak is a lefty bat that can play 2nd base. 4.) Mackowiak can hit for some power, get on base, run the bases, and play many positions (3B, 2B, LF, CF, RF). He could platoon with Crede at 3rd base, platoon with Iguchi at 2nd base, and also play the outfield some days. He would negate the need for Timo on our roster because he's a lefty bat that can play the outfield. Once Gload is healthy, Ross could replace Timo on the roster and our roster would be set.
  18. So the Padres may shop Sean Burroughs? It's a crying shame that Kenny didn't jump on this guy... Geoff Blum 127 AB .299 AVG .357 OBP .449 SLG .806 OPS 4 HR 18 RBI 12 BB 10 SO He can play 3B, 2B, SS, LF, and 1B and the Padres are only paying him $575,000 for the season.
  19. Eddie Guardado please. *cough* given that he's off the roids. *cough*
  20. Monday, June 6: Freddy Garcia, RHP (5-3, 3.53) vs. Joe Kennedy, LHP (3-5, 6.51) Tuesday, June 7: Jose Contreras, RHP (2-2, 3.27) vs. Byung-Hyun Kim, RHP (0-4, 7.04) Wednesday, June 8: Orlando Hernandez, RHP (6-1, 4.15) vs. To be announced
  21. Friday: 23,132 Saturday: 26,365 Sunday: 26,146
  22. What makes you think Everett can play 1st base? Didn't Timo teach you that it's a bad move? The errors Everett would have at 1st base would be worse than Paulie's crappy hitting.
  23. It makes absolutely no sense. The only thing you have to know is the following...
  24. Well, Gload has yet to do it for an entire season like Hatteberg and Snow. I would like to see what Gload can do the rest of this season before I give him the full-time job. Of course, he has to get healthy first and even then he may not get much playing time. Remember, Ozzie's jizz-mopper Timo needs to get his at bats in.
