Notes: Harris' days numbered?
Of course, but the Reds aren't going to trade a cheaper, younger Freel. He's the guy they would want to keep. Randa + Mercker is my trade deadline prediction. Good production at a cheap price, in the way of prospects and added salary.

Well, Mercker's b****ing at Steve Stone and Chip Carey was pretty lame. But here are the contract details for each of them... Joe Randa 2005: $2.15 million Kent Mercker 2005: $1.25 million 2006: $1.35 million They are both doing very well with the Reds and their cheap contracts would make them great trade targets. We would fill both of our holes (3rd base and lefty reliever) and solidify our team. That would be worth Willie and a prospect or two in my opinion.

A perfect trade for us would be Willie and prospect(s) for Randa and Mercker, except for Mercker's clubhouse crap with the Flubs last season. We would get a good 3rd baseman and a solid lefty reliever. Neither Randa nor Mercker are making much money either.

Anyone think that Kenny is looking to deal Willie for a lefty reliever and/or a 3rd baseman? Maybe his idea is to send Willie to Charlotte where he can tear it up and raise his trade value even more. Keep in mind that D'Angelo Jimenez probably won't be on the Reds after this season with his clubhouse issues and Aurilia is old. They will need another 2nd baseman. Kenny could be looking at a Willie for Randa swap. The Reds would then have Willie at 2nd base and could move Ryan Freel to 3rd base. Keep in mind that Kenny has dealt with the Reds in the past as well (Scott Sullivan, D'Angelo Jimenez).

I'm not lying. I have seen it. I wondered how much they paid him to promote that crap.

Pods would be facing a tough lefty and he could probably use a break anyways. Carl has surprisingly killed lefties so far this season. He also needs some time in the outfield with Frank back as our DH.

Even Ozzie isn't stupid enough to start Timo against a nasty lefty... or is he?
