    We would never take on Griffey's contract so it's almost pointless even thinking about it.

    Nah, there was a report that we had shipped a minor leaguer to the Pirates to help the Mets get Benson and block the Twins from getting him. But it was a false report as this would have been a form of collusion.

    I guess if we traded Marte for Mueller and went after Eddie Guardado it would make sense.

    It would leave us with one lefty reliever that is better at getting righties out. We would need to make another trade for a lefty reliever then.

    We'd have to then trade Crede or Everett for a good reliever or two.

    Urbina has had more than 1 good season, unlike Shingo. Urbina has name-recognition as being a good closer. Shingo is probably viewed as a 1 year flash-in-the-pan by most teams' GM's.

    Dingo, Jizzcan, and Bajenaru are no where near the level that Urbina is at when it comes to trade value.

    Mueller will cost more than a mediocre reliever like Dingo, Jizzcan, or Bajenaru.

    Answer above. El Duque's WHIP has been horrible all season long. Sooner or later it was bound to catch up with him. He can't get lucky all the time.
