AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
I guess I disagree. I don't see Leury as a real prospect and don't think playing him every day will put him in conversatoin for a starting gig even if he hits .300 this year.

4/8 game thread WHITE SOX HOME OPENER vs Cleveland
If Danks consistently has his 91 mph stuff that popped up I'd be optimistic. But he just has way too many days of nothing and he can't junk it up when that happens. I feel for danks. Not like he asked for his shoulder to fall off.

Yeah, I just don't see us of having a shortage of players who hit lefties well. I feel like he'll get bonifacio playing time, not sure we need that. Honestly would probably rather have Leury just to have someone with 80 speed than him now that I realize how hard it will be for him to find time.

STAR WARS Everything
You would think after becoming the republic they would have made a priority to create a death star that can blow up death stars.

Oh, I don't want to know more than that yet. I'm sure wiki/reddit could float that boat.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 09:35 AM) Phil Rogers @philgrogers 36m36 minutes ago Pitchers who have been w/their teams longer than Danks: Wainwright, Weaver, Felix, Cain and Verlander. That's excellent company. And he fits like a glove with that group.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 09:35 AM) Is there any background on where this one fits into the overall story arc? I am kind of confused Right around episode 4. This is the story of the group that smuggled the death star plans that is referenced before luke blows dat s*** up with the force.

Has Sands played yet? His is still the roll I just don't get where it will work. I'd rather have a long man for when Danks has his "nothing" starts.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 12:19 AM) OK PC police. Does it make you feel important because you're PC bro? That was only two characters. I'm just saying they don't get points for female characters, nor should they. Speaking of bros. You already know that a han solo will be a part of the movie. That darth vader and a bunch of dude characters will be in it. Having a female lead character makes perfect sense. It opens them up to love story angles and some balance. It should have nothing to do with PC.

Panama Papers
It's absurd because this is exactly how the snowden leak was handled (I don't know that they ever released all of it, Greenwald and team vetted it first), but more, there is perfectly good reasons for Suddeutsche Zeitung and the rest not to completely leak it, as the Snowden leak was regarding a government, whereas these are involving private citizens, some of whom could be engaged in something completely innocent. More than innocent, some of the people may be doing this to protect themselves from an adversarial gov't. It shouldn't be dumped.

STAR WARS Everything
I found their male leads in the first 6 installments pushing their masculine agenda.

Panama Papers
It doesn't remotely hold any water. Even if the leaks were motivated (as if Snowden's werent), has there been any pushback whatsoever that this information is forged or untrue? Cameron has admitted his involvement. The Icelandic PM has admitted their involvement. But a US businessman was willing to throw 2 allies under the bus to cause mild discomfort to Putin? This information has been spread to multiple news sources nad the actual docs are with the Suddeutsche Zeitung and 5 other news orgs, with only one org that has Soros as a contributor to the non-profit company.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 10:42 PM) I think it was mainly because Latos doesn't have the arm strength currently. He pitched in what, 3 games in ST? And never got past the 5th I believe. So? He was having a hell of a game. Dusty Baker probably throws him out there. Robin made good decision to stick with pre-game planning. When things go right people don't consider a decision having been made. When they go wrong, then it was a manager doing something.

I give Robin credit for taking Latos out when he did. 3rd time through lineup would not have gone well.

At this pace we will win 121.5 games.

4/7 White Sox at Oakland game thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 05:39 PM) Well I think you need a bit of both. A team full of Adam Dunn's is going to be pretty s***ty (and that team would have power and OBP). Bottom line, when power isn't there, you still have to be able to score and execute but you can't have 126 home run power either (unless you are elite everywhere else). It isn't as if the Royals / Giants in recent years were power laden teams so it isn't a pre-requisite. I have always said when it comes to offensive stats, I prefer average and OBP to almost everything else. I agree, but if you have a team like ours with low obp and low power, it was going to be difficult to make improvements in both especiallya fter we weren't going to sign the top tier players. In that case, I'd prioritize improving power before OBP, as it seems to naturally get better when there's a real threat of power anyway.

4/7 White Sox at Oakland game thread
I think the 9th showed some pretty clutch hits. BUt yes. This is why I wanted to prioritize power over OBP. We weren't going to be great at OBP anyway, may as well make it easier to score through more doubles/HRs. Because we had like 8 hits in the ninth to score 4 runs.
