  1. I also would like to see if it's implemented to go hand in hand with policy to increase housing capacity, but that is going to need to happen on the state level. Otherwise I worry it will get sucked up in rents.
  2. I miss this joke. It never failed to make me laugh.
  3. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 10:43 AM) What do you worry about re: $15? Nationally? I worry it will kill employment levels in areas where they couldn't come close to hitting that productivity. It would be better to know how places like NY/CA can handle that before applying it to areas with nowhere near the density.
  4. I listened to a podcast with Dan Pfeiffer and Jon Favreau who had on Kal Penn. Forgot how smart he is, I hope he runs for office at some point.
  5. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 15, 2016 -> 10:34 AM) I hate this answer. It puts everyone else in a s***ty position where now they've gotta be the guy who goes to complain about a kid being around the team 24/7, and now management's gotta do something about it. Players might feel like assholes for complaining about it until it really just gets out of hand, and then we all see what can happen when management has to deal with bulls*** problems that shouldn't even exist in the first place. Granted, they brought some of that on themselves, but it's still ridiculous for LaRoche to be that un-self-aware of the situation he was creating. This is what bothered me about the whole situation. By its very nature you are asking your coworkers to be critical of someone's family. That's a tough road to navigate for anyone.
  6. I think debates are growing tired. This national $15 an hour though, I worry about. Bernies backtracking on the "qualified to be president" thing: it does remind me about how much backtracking Bernie may have had to do had he been under the same scrutiny for 30 years. It may be...Shock...clinton-like!

  8. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 03:58 PM) Just caught the post game show and watched the highlights from today. Have to say it's pretty hard to find fault with the way things have started. Hitting is still iffy but I think that's still because the weather hasn't been great temperature wise. Pitching has been superb but to me the biggest improvement has been defensively. They just haven't been making stupid plays on batted balls, they are catching what they can and not making a lot of mistakes. If you can pitch the ball and catch the ball you'll win a lot of games. I may have to figure out a way to get home this summer if this keeps up! Congrats to everyone on the start...keep it going! Mark Agreed. Among the many frustrating things to start the season last year is it felt like we had 2 errors a game at least.
  9. Man this feels good! I feel like every time we've started a season hot good things have happened. Seems like we are always chasing .500
  10. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 11:20 AM) Chargers gotta be excited, this probably gets them Tunsil. QBs going back to back 1-2 really helps bears for this reason. What may have been a DL/LB pick now is an OL, Will be interesting to see what SF does.
  11. This feels awesome. Sweeps are fairly uncommon anyway, but I would have bet soxtalk would have put a 5% or less chance of the sox sweeping the twins to put them at 0-9 during their home opening series. They are defying our expectation in a good way. Let's keep this up. This is the kind of pitching staff I felt like we had, and they are showing it to us.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 10:36 AM) http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2016/04/13/bul...k-in-nba-draft/ Dang it. I stopped following and assumed we had the kings pick this year. The hits keep coming.
  13. I just don't get it. Basically their summary is that the team failed because of Jimmy/Rose... But their roster construction was insane. A logjam of 5 competent front court players with disparate styles that struggled to play together, and a paper thin backcourt with very little difference in style that struggled to execute pace. Remove the one element that held them together (defense) and "whoa, can't believe that didn't work!"
  14. I am very disappointed Gar Forman is not gone.
  15. Awful lot of noise from BANNED people. NFL thread will be reserved for off the field criminal activity until July, thank you very much.
  16. Granted, he may be super intense during mound meetings and I'm going off of interviews from Brett Austin being terrified of him.
  17. You jerks, I made the NFL draft thread for a reason. Banned. All of you.
  18. So the Rams traded 2 firsts, 2 seconds and 2 thirds for the 1st overall pick, a 4th and a 6th. Tennesse got the dream package in a draft that I don't know anyone saw with a dynamite #1. It helps in that there maybe 3 QBs taken ahead of bears. The pivot point the bears may be able to take advantage of now is the OT and interest among them if they fall.
  19. Rodon on the mound hasn't had the "lose your cool" moments due to a bad walk, etc, that we see from Sale. That's nice to see as I thought he had a reputation for getting over worked up on the mound.
  20. I'm a failure at my own thread. I'm going to ban myself.
  21. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 02:36 PM) This is where it may help if one of the QBs drop, hopefully someone is targeting them and wants to move up to grab them. That's a lot of ifs though. But to who? The rams are only team in need of a QB (unless saints make the jump), and the teams around the Rams are unlikely drafters of a QB>
  22. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 02:29 PM) Do the Bears have the leverage needed to trade down and get multiple draft picks if their guy isn't there in the top 12? That's what we're saying. There doesn't appear to be a good trade down partner.
  23. Keep in mind, what likely would have been coming back was picks, as Boston has unprotected Brooklyn Nets picks this year.
  24. Right - I don't see the scenario where a team sees 11 as attractive for the bears to get a deal. If they get a good deal they should definitely do it in this draft. Looking at teams behind them, no idea why any of them would hop over the teams around them. Even if QBs fall...the rams are the only serious threat behind bears for 10 spots.
  25. He didn't make a stink about it at all, you guys just don't get it yet, you slow children.
