I really hope they make Getsy available

Love working from home where I can just have this in the background lol. Poles started off a little shakey, and then by the end he was really interesting to me. It was definitely funny how little they seemed to care about the media questions on the conspiracy process stuff related to their hire. Eberflus is interesting to me. I think without a doubt given the option you'd take a real savant scheme guy as head coach. But you are in deep shit when you think you have a savant guy and they aren't. I don't think there were any shanahan/belicheck level geniuses in this round, but I could be wrong and Daboll is that guy. Daboll what I liked was how he changed based off personnel. That is in fact what Flus seemed to be implying. They kept trying to pin him down to how his cover-2 system would play, and he didn't commit at all to it. All questions like this he'd basically respond "we'll see what we have and what we need and play a defense on that". Which, if it fails in 4 years we'll say it was because this guy was an idiot. But I think if it succeeds it's because he's prioritizing teaching the players and relying on his coaches to scheme them up for success. Not having a system defining it. Who knows, but this is definitely a different crew, we'll see if it works. Clearly, Eberflus sees his role as more of a Tomlin and John Harbaugh, and was appropriately focused on coaches that can execute. Maybe the most interesting thing out of this is they just did not talk about the roster, even fields. I think they are setting the standard that this isn't one player above another?

Forgot about this omg. Some baseball writers try to measure the impact of grip help, so bernstein can only use that to wage crusade against players loosely attributed to it.
-
I think my brain has forgot all baseball players since the lockout.
-
Meh, I think this is why I can't stand him. I think he's a fraud on that stuff. I generally know the arguments and writers he's alluding to when he's creating his stances and like those writers, he's only capable of trying to turn that stuff into a good vs evil battle.

My thoughts that Demeco Ryan should be a HC now and Cooper Kupp is MVP are unchanged so far.

Nfl just can’t be stopped. In a year facing the conplete turnover of its epic QB generation, the new group puts together a playoff for the ages. Go Bengals

I feel a little better with him going to Miami. Seems like that owner would trump any offer. If I’m Minny I think I go Demeco Ryans but we’ll see. I definitely realized with these big coaches how Bears can never get one. They need a strong owner to negotiate with a Harbaugh or McDaniels and organize the GM type stuff there. George is too scared, he committed to staying out of the way now he’s trying to orchestrate both positions at once? Doesnt guarantee any results, but definitely is the reason we will always be a first job (or pre retirement when it comes to Fox)

Honestly I hope this is true now (obviously) but I think Harbaugh is still a good coach. On one hand, the NFL is a lot different that when he was successful, especially offensively. On the other, he’s been facing these offenses in college. I think he tailors his coaching to his players and that’s a strong compliment. College recruiting can be an awkward game, but I think it’s fair that he may not have overachieved on the whole.

https://www.milehighreport.com/2022/1/13/22882564/what-would-packers-luke-getsy-bring-as-broncos-head-coach Good stuff. Im impressed by how LaFleur set up his staff vs what Nagy did. I hope Getsy replicates that here.

Seems like a four years from now problem. Fun thing to think about is the bears and eagles both fired their longtime coaches after 2012 and have both had 3 coaches since (bears on 4). All 3 of their coaches made the playoffs, and one a super bowl. Bears only got two winning seasons and 2 playoffs, with no wins. So basically I don’t care if he’s not likely to be a 40 year coach. They need to start stacking winning seasons.
-
Man the Vikings are going to get Harbaugh and it will 100% be due to the mccaskeys not understanding how the Gruden deal was par for the course in college now (ie they were cheap). Makes me sick.
-
I don’t know that you need to be convinced of greatness but the OCs under offensive head coaches are head coaching candidates so it’s more likely to pluck their QB coaches for an OC job. There is risk but also high upside here, since it is the Shanahan/McVay tree, and lafleurs run schemes were very good. You show me they are connected to shanahan / McVay right now that’s enough to walk through the door.
-
Yeah I mean Zac Taylor became a HC with playcaling duties with the exact same resume. But Scarangelo went to DEN with Fangio and bombed. We just don’t know. But Mcvays acolytes have had more success elsewhere than Shannys. Shanahan may be the new belicheck honestly. He just lacks a brady

Ugh the good news is there's a rumor the Bears are trying to get Bill Callahan as OL coach The bad news is the rumor comes from Erik Lambert. Real rollercoaster.
-
I don't know but I think that's a good part of Pep at this point, I don't think he's looking to play power plays. He's probably content to just be a young QB partner.
-
Who knows. Pep is a long enough coach he can help a lot. He's been a playcaller before. And if you get Bisaccio and Marinelli you'd have 2 former head coaches on staff
-
It is interesting, but again a wild card. Was hoping for a hail mary of getting O'Connel or McDaniel. I'm not even sure what his key beliefs are based on resume, assuming he is on the McVay tree now. We need some blocking receivers. When he was OC at MSU (not a playcaller), they had a really rough year passing but had no QB, but ran the hell out of the ball. Maybe he will bring cool run concepts and Pep will handle the pass concepts.
-
woof sorry I forgot how annoying that backend is. Not today satan.
-
I've thought about this a lot too. I'll check.
-
Gotta tell ya, Breer has been soooooo off the entire search, I'm struggling to believe he's got a handle now. But maybe he's got more coaching ties than the front office stuff.
-
Also we are off to a good start targeting Rich Bassacia (raiders interim HC) as ST coordinator. Hopefully he is released from his contract soon and that can be finalized.
-
Cunningham was also an olineman. Thumbs up from me.

I’d be more into this. Who know how they handle Abreu next year and replacing that with LH would be helpful.
