Man there is some revisionism around Abrams. There was only like 2 people that liked him, and I think it was me and @chitownsportsfan
People called him yolmer sanchez because sox fans only have 3 player comps. If you are good defensively with a light bat you are Yolmer, if you strike out and hit for power you are Dunn, and if you are a pitcher you are James Shields.
It's one of those things that on value it lines up but is that really where you want to unload your top available prospect? I just don't trust Hanigers production and I hate Gonzalez.
It really is so hard to grapple with them not even trying here (I hope they are), because the offense (thanks to much of their moves) is really one elite player away from being actually elite.
I already had that.
$25 mill projected tenders
$29.8 mill signed players (Abreu, yonder, eloy, tim anderson, kelvin herrera)
18.3 million Yas
I had 8.5 for unsigned guys, but even at 10 that puts you at 83 pre mazara, add 5.7 and you are at 88
2020 is for OF what 2019 was for pitchers, which means we'll try to focus on Pederson and then get out bid and trade prospects for like, mike foltenewicz or something.
JRs real advice to that Marlins guy should have been "always have one of the worst positions in baseball on your team, that way, any improvement makes the fans satiated. Gives them that little bit of excitement that this might be the year"
Exactly what I woke up thinking. Imagine getting a 1.000 OPS guy in a lineup that will add Vaughn and Robert and have Madrigal as DEPTH. That is comparable to the best lineups in baseball. An actual Elite thing to have.
