  1. Nova was a much, much better pitcher than Covey or Fulmer last year, but you’d rather have watched some of the worst pitchers in baseball make up Novas 190 IP last year because you get that much satisfaction out of the white Sox having another 8 million in their pockets?
  2. Well to be fair he’s not saying what teams are interested he’s saying what teams need starters.
  3. I’m not a big yearsbug but yeah do not give Ryu 5 years.
  4. Probably the least impactful use of 45 million I can imagine but This is Hahn so you may be right.
  5. Honestly what does it matter what the Sox plans are? They are less accurate than a horoscope.
  6. They are going to be treading in the waters soon of guys that are incredibly risky not just to be bad but of not being available much next year.
  7. Thank god. Hopefully they can get a really great deal.
  8. what The fuck are the Sox doing
  9. We close the mlb forum in the offseason.
  10. Surprised by the amount of interest in Avi by smart teams. Seems they believe he can be consistent now, wish they believed that when we were looking to trade him after 2017.
  11. Name a pitcher that isn't gerrit cole.
  12. The $24 million was in reference to the AAV not the total contract value.
  13. But there are real concerns that Kluber can even pitch. Price had the cyst removal but should not prevent him from going. Regardless, seems like it will be resolved soon, so we will see.
  14. Yeah they will almost certainly hit 100.
  15. There's been a lot of red flag pitchers getting paid. Clearly there are multiple teams bidding on price, which is a good position for Boston to be in. Do I think anyone will feel sad about whatever return boston gets, not really, I also don't even want price. But the fact is Boston will almost certainly be able to shed price to the dollar amount they need. It's another feather in the cap for not worrying so much about the last few years of a deal.
  16. Getting down to the $24 million mentioned in the article.
  17. Absolutely. Could very well get a bullpen piece back or blocked player that could be on their team this year.
  18. I think the writer is spot-on personally. The fanbase is a few months removed from hearing they may trade betts, and would need to attach benintendi to price to move him. It's pretty clear they can not only move Price, but could possibly get a valuable piece back (the reliever cleveland got back looks to be a help to the major league roster in 2019 on pre-arb salary). Moving out price means they could dip below the luxury repeater tax and re-sign Betts.
  19. Why is there a fit from the cubs? Shedding his salary doesn’t move the needle much
  20. It’s very likely the most probable answer is none of the above

Yeah sorry, some update is specifically causing issue with mobile safari. If you download chrome it’s not an issue. It’s with the main boards product so I don’t know if a resolution yet.
  22. I think Keuchel/Wood would be pretty good. Add Salazar on a minor league to majors deal, Or mchugh. Then Betances. Otherwise it’s Miley/Wood.
  23. People acting like this is a horrible deal are delusional.
  24. Yeah at this range I’d have liked it. Very confident he will be productive just not top line. Fans convinced themselves that since he wasn’t an ace he’ll be terrible but he’s still pretty valuable.
