  1. I wonder if this is the same scout that plucked Anderson. Obviously big risk this guy never sees A+, but in the fourth round, this is a great value. Huge tool and others developing, along with reasons he was pushed down that are largely circumstance. It relies a lot on luck but, lets hope we got really lucky.
  2. That's all you can do, we're working off of 2 paragraph blurbs that all say variations of the same thing.
  3. Wait a second...I like the Reds draft?
  4. I definitely could have put together a different draft I'd be psyched about, but while I usually convince myself that every player could be good, I am very pleased with the draft strategy and use of resources. But, like, I am very happy with the thought in drafting thompson, but I would have really loved tre fletcher, antoine kelly or mo hampton.
  5. That is awesome. Really pumped about that pick.
  6. BA James Beard Loyd Star HS, Brookhaven, Miss.OF Notes: Ht: 6-1 | Wt: 160 | B-T: R-R Commit/Drafted: Meridian (Miss.) JC Scouting Report: Beard is the fastest player in this year’s draft class. He’s an easy 80-grade runner, but this spring he showed he is more than just a speedster. Playing in the same area against similar competition as the speedy Jerrion Ealy, Beard showed a better bat as well as some strength in his hands and his swing. Compared to last summer, Beard carried a little more weight and significantly more strength this spring. His newfound strength paid off in improved bat speed and gap power—he hit 11 home runs in addition to 25 steals in 26 attempts. He has a chance to develop into an average hitter thanks to his speed and solid swing. Beard does not project as a power hitter by any stretch, but he has shown he’s can run into 10-12 home runs in pro ball. Defensively, Beard outruns his mistakes for now, but he has potential to be an above-average center fielder with more experience to improve his routes and reads. Beard has some refining to do, but he has some of the best athleticism in the class.
  7. James Beard! I like it!
  8. gar, massey to royals.
  9. Would like miller. I can't even figure out who is left, massey or miller, i remember those names.
  10. Royals up, sox next.
  11. McAvene is interesting if Cubs can make him a starter.
  12. Pepiot to Dodgers.
  13. Your quibble is with the decision to broadcast the phoning in the pick, but lay off the numbers! The numbers are good!
  14. Damn it. I built up a huge relationship with him when I clicked the expand button and saw bat speed for 30 seconds.
  15. Not that we know anything but if we were allowed to choose prep arms I'd, uhh, have preferred Josh Wolf and Allan to Thompson/Dalquist.
  16. Wow Mets got Allan.
  17. If he's 2 million, 1.3 is a bit to make up. Gotta wonder if we got some from Vaughn and if Thompson was possibly underslot by 2-300k.
  18. Bill Melton decides how your name will be pronounced.
  19. Sox appear to be following the baseball america/keith law list to draft, not fangraphs
  20. Andrew Dalquist - the hockey player
  21. Truly surprised how college pitching heavy KC has been.
  22. Zach Watson. Good. I hadn't looked up his profile so he probably sucks.
  23. Manfred: - Players must wear shock collars to speed up game, game too boring Also Manfred: - Perhaps we could add a 5 minute moment of silence between every draft pick to make mlb draft more thoughtful
