  1. QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 10:36 AM) I think that if Youkilis' minor league numbers indicate anything about his major league numbers, and if Lee plays like he has throughout his career (.276/.363/.662 34 2B, 28 HR, 86 RBI with solid defense), then yes, Youkilis will be a bigger bargin. Youkilis will be making near the league minimum, Lee will be making an extremely large contract. I know, which is why i think its unlikely that they do that I didn't say this is what Boston would do, I said this is what I would do if I were in their shoes. I just don't see how you could let a 40 homer, gold glover in the middle of his prime leave because you have a guy who walked a lot in the minors.
  2. A ton of good games on today, I'm probably not even going to leave my room.
  3. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 01:18 AM) Is there any doubt that Steve Nash is the MVP of the league? Chauncey.
  4. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 04:40 PM) I still don't buy Pitt just yet, they have a really weak schedule. We'll see how they do in their two games against West Virginia, at UConn, and against Syracuse. Those are the only tough games they play tough. Sadly, they only play UConn once and wouldn't play Villanova until the Big East tourney. I'm amazed that they can get a schedule that weak in the Big East. Their other remaining games are Marquette and Providence twice, at St. Johns, at Georgetown, Cincy at home, and Seton Hall at home. They really won't have been tested a whole lot going into the tourney, and I think they might be like last years' Boston College team. BC didn't have Karl Krauser, though I understand what you're getting at. Pitt has impressed me from watching them play, not that they're undefeated. I had my doubts about them too, but as weird as it sounds the game against Depaul sold me on them, though they didn't play their best.
  5. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 04:31 PM) You're not offending me. I said it already. I know, just saying it anyways. By the way, I'm throwing a 9th team in there in Memphis. They're a team that I could see losing 2nd round or winning it all.
  6. Take out LSU(next year is when they'll make their run imo) and Indiana(sorry greasy, just dont see it without white) and add Pitt and Texas and I'll agree with those teams.
  7. Reduce the month long slumps, that's basically it. If he can minimize the damage so to speak when he's slumping then he'll be fine.
  8. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) I think the Twins are back to being an underrated team. Starting 5 of Santana-Radke-Silva-Lohse-Liriano, still a very solid pen, and a pretty solid lineup all around. I still think they should have reacquired Koskie, traded Lohse to whomever for some more prospects, and gone with an infield of Morneau-Castillo-Bartlett-Koskie from 1b-3b...but I do not make the decisions for the Twins. They will also get Kubel back from his ACL tear, and his addition is huge...you are looking at Stewart-Hunter-Ford-Kubel in the OF, which is very solid and underrated offensively, especially if Ford can bounce back to anything near his 2004 campaign. The Twins were right in the middle of WC race before Torii went down. You take that into account plus Castillo who is just infinitely better then who they have had there before, insert Liriano/Baker and eventually both plus I expect Morneau to improve significantly and you got the 2nd best team in ALC imo and maybe in the AL.
  9. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 09:16 AM) Once it becomes OK for a player to go into the stands for a certain reason, there will be players in the stands all the time. Even if his wife was having an argument, you call security. The guards were there even before AD got there. So what exactly was he helping? What if the guy took at swing at AD? Then Eddy Curry decided to help out? Now since you think thats acceptable behavior, Ron Artest goes into the crowd to protect his brother, someone takes a swing at him, and he swings back. But its ok because he went to protect a family memeber? Thats flat out retarded. PLayers have no business going into the stands. Remember when Bagwells wife got her hair pulled? If that was above the dugout and he saw it and ran into the stands, would that be acceptable? No. What would be acceptable is alert the guys who are paid to handle the situation, and keep your ass on the playing field. There is no excuse for a player going into the stands. Security wasn't there when AD got there first off, second your family comes first no matter what. It's against the rules for AD to go into the stands so whatever suspend him a couple of games but I have 0 problem with what he did, if I'm him I'm going right into the stands as well. Sorry, but if you got an asshole harrassing your wife you can go protect her whether the NBA has a rule against it or not.
  10. QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 10:50 PM) Youkilis is a damned good player. I'd take him over Lee in an instant based alone on the price Lee would be (especially if the Yankees are pursuing him)
  11. QUOTE(TLAK @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 06:25 AM) The Central was the weakest division in a fairly well balanced American League last year. I don't agree with this. IMO it was better then the West, and the only thing that brings us down against the east is how much better the Drays are then the Royals. The central was the only division in the AL where 3 teams finished above .500 plus having the team with the best record in the al. All 3 division were pretty damn good and I don't think it's correct to say the Central was the worst division, jmo.
  12. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 06:18 AM) Hope you aren't putting any money on that to happen.......... At Iowa, at Michigan, vs Illinois, at wiscy, and at MSU. A minimum of 2-3 losses there if you ask me.
  13. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) What do you guys think of the apparent new ESPN.com homepage. I thought I was on the wrong site at first... I don't like it right now, but I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually.
  14. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 11:06 PM) Ah, Rowand agreed with you therefore it is right. I just saw the replay. You guys are full of s***. They were all sitting down except his wife and some other lady. Totally unnecassary. common flipping sense :headshake I definitely saw a few people standing up, he obviously saw something otherwise he wouldn't have ran up there. I mean the security did such an awesome f***in job getting there so that helped as well. I don't see how anyone could fault someone for trying to help their family. AD isn't going to see something going down and thing "well, something might happen and security still isn't there but hell..I'll take my chances.
  15. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 10:55 PM) Ok just shut up now. Dont start making up wild scenarios to defend your opinion that men should rush to the aid of their wives everytime there is a disturbance. You arent even married, you have no idea. The situation was harrassment, she wasnt being sexually abused. I just saw the replay of it, and it just looked like something bad was going to happen as everyone seemed to be standing up and yelling at each other. If I'm AD I do the exact same thing, instinctfully.
  16. The last 15 seconds or so of the Nuggets-Cavs game was nuts. Bron chokes in the end and Denver wins.
  17. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 10:31 PM) Antonio Davis is done for 10 games, minimum. I don't care why, YOU DON'T GO INTO THE STANDS, PERIOD! To protect your f***in wife you can go into the stands.
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 10:29 PM) Then you might be talking about a different shot. Hehe.
  19. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 10:28 PM) , Kerry Sayers :puke
  20. QUOTE(rventura23 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) I thought gooch did a great job in the two hole. He was good behind scotty and a very productive hitter. Im not sure that Uribe is going to be a better 2 hitter. Gooch did a great job, moving him down is to make him a run producer and let him swing away more. It has nothing to do with him getting demoted from that spot or anything like that.
  21. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) Um no, Pitt has to be the most inconsistent team, everyone ranks them high but they are usually one and done in the final four, i fail to see the good in them Considering pitt was the lower seed when they lost their first round game last year I woudn't consider them very highly rated. In 03 and 04 they made it to the sweet 16, so good try. That being said I fail to see what the past has to do with this years pitt team. Krauser and Gray are about as good as an inside-outside combo as there is in the nation and I believe they've recieved very little attention this year.
