QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:33 PM) Nope, I retired. My own free will. We having a ceremony or something to put you in the admin hall of fame?

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) To me, that's communicating to the guys coming up what to expect. Yet, the ump was giving him the evil eye as he was doing it. Carl's always verbal with his hands after he strikes out or just gets out, it's just what he does. Umps are to damn sensitive, it's ridiculous.

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) the mic placed perfectly to hear carl throw some f-bombs. "That's f***ed up"--The great Carl Everett.

QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) Gload in for DH? He's playing already.
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) Ozzie going to talk to the home plate ump, and now Carl comes back from the dugout to join in. Carl is pissed and might get run. Joey is pushing Carl back to the dugout. Wow. Carl is HOT. He was thrown out before he came back out. I have no clue why the hell he got thrown out.
-
Carl got thrown out for some reason.

I'm cheering for the Twins to lose every game until we clinch the division if we clinch the division.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:23 PM) Good inning for Garland, but Hernandez has some wicked numbers over his last few starts. We'll get to him, why??? Because I like this lineup
-
QUOTE(ptatc @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) The only way I put Politte in the deal is if we get Mota. Mota is a closer (protection for Hermanson +a closer for next year), Politte while good is pitching over his head and not a closer. Mota's not having that good of a year. Cliff's been the best setup man in baseball this year, trading Cliff would just be dumb imo.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) Why do you say that??? Because it's obvious. When Paul was really, really scuffling he was still in the number 4 slot. He's not going to be moved from that spot in the order.

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) I hate Bruuuuuuuuce Levine. Why?? What he do now?
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) LMAO, I'd like to see you try.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) But he shouldnt be the cleanup hitter. He is brutal with RISP and 2 outs. I am tired of his pop ups and GIDP. Dye has been tearing the cover off the ball and he deserves to be the cleanup hitter IMHO. I'm not disagreeing but Pauly's going to be our cleanup hitter no matter what so it's a moot point.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) You don't have the guts to go through with it. You're next.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 11:04 AM) I disagree strongly. Crede is abso-f***ing-lutely solid at 3B. His defense is top notch and his offense has been coming around. I have really warmed up to Crede and I hope he has a monster 2nd half. Imagine this: Pods Gooch Overbay Dye PK Rowand AJ Crede Uribe Haven't you realized by now Pauly's going to be the teams cleanup hitter all year. EDIT: To answer the question I'd absolutely love Huff or Overbay.
-
Cliff's not going anywhere if he did, I'd kill Kenny.
-
I like Dolgin but he'll never be as good as Wills, but not many are.
-
Holy hell I love this lineup.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) This is true but did we know ANYTHING about Carl Everett? Did we know ANYTHING about Robbie Alomar. All this was kept under-wraps and was a surprise to everyone. KW's style is not to have anything known. Trust me, he watches TV and listens to the Radio too. Everyone knew the Sox were going after Alomar in 03, the Everett trade however kind of came out of no where. Last year there was a ton of speculation about Carl and everyone knew we were after Freddy as well. Some times you can keep things quiet but some times you just can't. Anyways it seems to be more quiet today then it has the past 3-4 days, who knows maybe something's brewing.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) 2.79 ERA in the California League (that's a high-A league, right?). Yes sir.
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:55 AM) Ok so we're what the Arizona Diamondbacks all of a sudden? I'd rather have no bullpen at all than have their bullpen
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) BUMP. The Dodgers are 4 games back now. Hate to say I was right but ya know............... DBAHO, I think we could take 9 people from soxtalk and win the nl west. Screw a bullpen as well, no need.

QUOTE(forrestg @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) San francisco giants Tomko could be available.. In the past he's been great in the 2nd half of the season he's 15 and 5 in the second half of the last two seasons with a 3.80 era. there's some trade rumors between the Phillies and Angels making inquiries. If Tomko came here, AJ would kill him.

Make a GOOD deal, Kenny, or don't make one at all

QUOTE(mrzo2733 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:23 AM) I couldn't disagree with you more. It depends on what your idea of a good and bad trade are at this point. For me a good trade is ONLY getting big players who can help us, regardless of what we give up. I am absolutely willing to overpay to get guys like Guardado, Wagner, Vizquel, Overbay. A bad trade for me would be to only get a guy like Scott Eyre at the deadline, even if we got him for Timo. I will be so upset if we do nothing. So much so that the idea of Burnett is getting better and better ( I don't really like him too much) as time goes by and I get more afraid that we are not gonna do anything of substance. The only way Kenny can upset me is to not make a splash. At some point we have to not worry about making a "bad" trade and just suck it up and get what we need to make it to the promised land. My sights are set squarely on a deep playoff run and anything short of the World Series will be failure in my mind. We've been waiting 46 years to get back, let's not blow it because we didn't want to give too many damn prospects. See, this is a bad idea. You don't just make a deal to make a deal. You make a deal if it makes sense and if it helps you're team. -
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) Total agreement on this one. Ozzie played it right, and to blame Ozzie's decisions for Shingo's failure is asinine. Rememebr how that one blown Koch save in Oakland affected the team? Why have the same type of thing happen this year? Hell, if Shingo would have blown two more save, we might be 10 games worse off in the standings. How about that Koch blown save on the 4th two years ago. Talk about taking the air out of a team after sweeping your rival. UGH, I hate piling on Koch since he manned up to his inability but those games hurt, a lot.
