  1. Hawk: "I was talking to Ted Williams one day and I said Joe...." LOL, he corrected himself but it was still funny.
  2. QUOTE(Spiff @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) Deron williams = hot wife I was thinking the same thing. Wow.
  3. Marvin selected 2nd.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) Monroe with a leadoff single. False.
  5. Good job of hitting there by Monroe. 1 on, 1 out.
  6. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 05:36 PM) Milwaukee with the shock pick of the night. .......AND NICK SMITH IT IS!!!!!!!1
  7. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 05:28 PM) Who else are they gonna draft if Felton is off the board? Best player available. Villanueva maybe, I'm not exactly sure but I just don't think with Phil coming back that they're going to take a high schooler.
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 05:23 PM) Also if Green is gonna slip to #10, the Magic have got to trade up to #9 to nab him ahead of the Lakers. Give the Warriors a 2nd rounder to get the deal done, and they can still get Diogu. I highly doubt the Lakers draft Green.
  9. QUOTE(forrestg @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) still AJ knows Schmidt I'm sure kw and him have spoken.. I like jAMIE moyer even if he just has this season and maybe next left I think he carries less baggage and has a good strikeout to walk ration, a 4.36 era would be lowered playing with a better defense . A move just might pump him up. He knows how to pitch. . He's stayed healthy he's a workhorse. I DON'T THINK HE'S A LONG TERM SOLUTION AND i DON'T KNOW ABOUT HIS CONTRACT. Actually his era would most likely rise considering he'd go from one of the better pitchers park in the game to one of the better hitters park. Doesn't mean he wouldn't be effective but I'd be surprised if his era went down, jmo.
  10. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 05:13 PM) But you have to agree Green is a more projectible defender with his athleticism. Oh, there is absolutely no doubt about that. He's got to want to play defense though, which some of these players refuse to learn for some reason.
  11. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 05:09 PM) The bobcats will not take green, they will take felton. The blazers may like webster better but blazer fans could possibly end up killing the blazers gm if they draft him, they all want green. He wowed them with his defense? They are both weak defensively, but green has a much better chance of improving defensively that webster, in my opinion. Frye is not worthy of the 8th pick but i agree he will go to them, diogu = eh. They don't teach defense in high school anymore.
  12. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) Exactly, but I said it to help his argument. IMO, they don't even have 3 aces. But I'll give him time to come up with his list. I'll help him out, there is NO team in baseball with 3 aces at this point.
  13. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) Most people say Prior, Nut-Grabber and Mr. IR. So I gave him that one just in case he wanted to mention that team. I would say, even they don't have 3 aces. Prior's an ace no doubt about that, Zambrano has more to prove last year he was fantastic this year he's been average and Wood isn't and never will be anywhere near an ace.
  14. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) Okay, name me teams with 3 aces(with realistic shots at the playoffs). I guess if you want to count the Cubs and that's pretty much it. Bullpens are what you need in the postseason and right now, ours isn't that strong at all. It's good, but not as good as everyone else's. We also don't have an as good 3B as the rest of the teams who have a chance at the playoffs. That's coming from someone who loves Crede. The cubs 3 aces are who??
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 04:59 PM) ^ Front court depth, or a big 2 That's about it. I'm going to 3rd that statement, he'd be an awesome fit here imo.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 04:55 PM) It look's like Roger Powell might go undrafted. Would he be a viable pick-up as a back-up big man? To small to be a big man in the NBA.
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) I wouldn't say it's not a big deal, Welsch is pretty solid. Celtic then a Cav. Welsch is actually a guy I would have loved to see the Bulls go after.
  18. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) You also have to realize that if you pitch when the team is down by 1 or 2, you are not going to get a hold, but to keep the opposition at bay, not allowing them to score any more runs is vital. This argument is even more true considering this current team. With Cliff being able to keep the opposition at bay the Sox have come back so many times in the late innings.
  19. A couple of Bulls playoff games back in the glory years were unreal, also the Northwester vs. Michigan game a few years back where a train fumbled and NU pulled it out. That was by far the most exciting game I've ever been to, that was unreal.
  20. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 03:31 PM) if he was as good as you claim he is, he would be closing games. it's so hard debating things with people who are 17 and would rather let someone f*** their girlfriend as opposed to letting the cubs win the series over the sox. You're unreal. All you have to backup your argument is that Wickman closes games and since you have nothing at all to back it up you stoop to how old people are. Well guess what a bunch of 17 year olds just out argued you with ease, so what does that say about you?
  21. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) See i have always really liked cotts as you know. But at the beginning of the year you have to take a bet like that, especially considering i am not the optimist you are, no one really is. This is true but as I've told you Neal is one of the guys I've always felt strong about, I've always thought he was going to be really, really good.
  22. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) i listed you 12 guys who i think are all-star pitchers. the one guy you don't think is going to go is bob wickman, the saves leader. i am willing to make wagers with anyone and everyone that cliff politte isn't going to the all-star game. i'll bet ANYTHING on this. We're arguing that he should be there, most of us realize he probably won't be there but he's definitely deserving.
  23. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) Already have a bet with wite on it and rowand. Afraid to make bets with me anymore??
  24. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) His era will be around four at the end of the year. He has alot of things against him now. Are we going to make another sig bet?? Because you're already going to owe me one.
  25. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) Indians were suppose to have an awful bullpen... i was told this by everyone and they thought i was crazy for thinking other wise. You also thought Hermey was gonna be bad
