  1. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 03:33 PM) He is also pitching at Comerica, There ya go, that's a big key right there. Brandon has been having trouble giving up the long ball more then anything, Tigers lineup or not I think his numbers will be much better this time around and he'll atleast give us a shot to win.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 27, 2005 -> 12:24 AM) http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...ndpost&p=745760 Gracias.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) If it was said in this thread then it wasn't Jason it was Jim. They are both extremely reliable sources. This was the quote from this thread: That was all he said. I trust him as a reliable source however I just don't see the Sox getting Lilly but I wouldn't put anything past KW. Kalapse or Milkman can you guys link me to where Jim said that I'm not sure if it's in this thread or not but I can't find it.
  4. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 11:25 PM) Eh, what's the point of even thinking/hoping/wishing/praying for a starter like Burnett, Oswalt, or Schmidt. If we get anyone, it'll be Lilly or some marginal pitcher. We have the pieces to get just about anyone we want, oh well. Lilly will do. When has Kenny ever been afraid to make a big deal?
  5. QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 11:03 PM) The Florida Marlins are considering trading right-hander A.J. Burnett, a blockbuster move that would alter the pennant races in both leagues, The Sporting News has learned. The Marlins are engaged in preliminary discussions about Burnett with the Orioles and a second, unidentified American League club. Their goal in trading Burnett, who will be a free agent at the end of the season, would be to obtain three major-league parts — a young starting pitcher, quality reliever and left-handed hitting outfielder. Hmm an unidentified american league team, yeah that's us.
  6. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 05:32 PM) As long as we're venting here...f***, s***, damn, freaking son of a f***ing c*** whore b****, damn, spit, growl, snap, spit some more, f***ing Boris Said is a mothing f***ing jackass f***ing ringer son of a freaking f***ing b**** and damn Tony had to beat Ricky Rudd damn it all to hell. Oh and the scrubs pissed me off to !(@*&$(*^$@)&@%$&@^!%$^& to them - I had a rough day what can I tell ya lol. Ok, now I feel a little better. It might just be me but I get the impression your day didn't go so well
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) Against rhp, we don't have enough lefties. Yeah, neither did the Marlins two years ago. These last two games were bad but this team will bounce back they have all season. Prior was unhittable today so that happens the one thing that really got to me though was both Frank and Pauly swinging on the first pitches aftera leadoff walk, that was inexcusable. Like I said though we'll bounce back, no worry from me, this team is just to good.
  8. QUOTE(Southside hitmen @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) I believe D Lee sign an extension in the beginning of the season That was Aramis.
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 07:06 AM) We didn't exactly light up that weak pen yestreday, did we? I think the Sox will pull out a close one, but it will tougher than some of you think, just my opinion. I don't think anyone is expecting this to be easy.
  10. Eddie looked horrendous today throwing out the 2nd first pitch.
  11. Just got back home, not a good game obviously, we'll get 'em tomorrow though.
  12. Anyone remember that guy's name that sidekicked the catcher in the minors a few years back?? That was good stuff.
  13. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 09:59 AM) Just a BTW for the Dye haters... .269 BA 12 2B 14 HR 39 RBI Dye is now at a point I consider offensively solid. A 275 average and I'm happy with Dye He's been en fuego for a while now.
  14. Cliff Politte by FAR, have you seen the guys stats this year???
  15. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) That won't happen. Why would they keep Schmidt for the rest of their losing season and then pay him $3 million to get rid of him? They are going to decide to either trade him at the deadline or pick up his $10 million option for next season. Keeping him and buying out his contract would make absolutely no sense. Sabean is just trying to up the ante on Schmidt to other teams that are interested in him. Right, that would make 0 sense. I still say if Sabean decides Schmidt's available and Kenny wants to get him he will, maybe we can trade Minny Minoso for him.
  16. QUOTE(MinnySoxFan @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 08:45 AM) I'm curious. How much is it going to end up costing me to get tickets for myself and my long White Sox fan suffering old man once the playoffs roll around? Any ideas? Maybe for two kinds of seats...one for upper deck and one for lower deck? Thoughts? I think I remember in 2000 I almost bought some on ebay for $70/piece but then he couldn't make it. Does that sound about right? Get online or call the box office at 10 o'clock or whatever time they're released on the day they're released and you'll get them much cheaper.
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 02:00 AM) Worked out for both teams in all reality. They have their starting center fielder for years to come along with a possible back up shortstop in morse. They had no plans of resigning garcia so they figured why not get something in return. ( Potentially a pretty good player in reed) but i still think the trade is very equal for both sides. I think what you see out of Reed right now is about what he'll be, .275ish and in the .345-.350 obp range, nothing wrong with that at all. Hes about an average major leaguer and Morse atleast could be adequate for them, so imo we absolutely stole Freddy from them they did get two starting position players for years to come neither are going to be stars but they're decent atleast in the Mariners case.
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 11:28 PM) Watching this game with the girlfriend. Good idea or bad idea for those with experience? It was a bad idea with my case.
  19. Guillermo Mota, did you see him drop Piazza after he plunked him in spring training last year??
  20. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 11:58 PM) jesus christ. it was a joke. a typo in the story. take a look. GOD. Yes I know it was supposed to be a joke but it was written correctly.
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) And your point is what???
  22. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) B) I'm pretty sure his Ks per 9 are pretty crappy if that story is right lol
  23. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 11:43 PM) Someone may have posted this already, in which case I apologize (it's the first time I've started a topic). But this was an encouraging blurb from the Trib: The Sox may have relief help within their organization. Double-A Birmingham closer Bobby Jenks and outfielder Chris Young were named to play for the United States in the seventh annual Futures Game on July 10 in Detroit. Jenks, 24, is second in the Southern League with 16 saves with 40 strikeouts in 352/3 innings. "Jenks is on a faster track than Young," said Dave Wilder, the Sox's director of player development. "He's up to 98 [m.p.h.] every day." 98??? That's sick. It would be nice to see Jenks fill the roll that Vizcaino is failing to hold down. Personally I want to see him pitch in Charlotte for a bit if he continues to dominate there then give him a shot but first off Baj deserves a shot and out of everyone in our system Jenks is the guy the Sox need to be the most careful with imo.
  24. Ozzie has said it himself that he really doesn't look at numbers and with Carl needing ab's I hardly doubt Timo starts.
  25. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) Exactly. You knock him down in the first inning, he doesn't dig in nearly as deep,and might become suseptable to the pitch on the outer half. And if Freddy has his slider working that's normally his put away pitch to right handed batters could make that pitch deadly.
