6/22/05 Game Thread KC vs. Sox
Howell was one guy I would have loved to see the Sox draft last year just because I thought he was the most polished guy in the draft outside of Weaver but they definitely rushed him to the bigs. Still the Sox have to be careful because Howell could dominate if the Sox let him get in a groove early.

And That's a White Sox Winner!!!
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 12:59 AM) Stop dissagreeing with me. I see what you're saying. But nothing leads me to believe that we won't take atleast half of our remaining games with them. If we're up 10-12 games by the time we play, it's a wrap. I'm just hopin we get homefield to go along with the divison title. Hell, like I said I believe the sox are going to win this thing, I guess I just refuse to write off the Twins cause those guys just kicked our ass when it has counted the last 3 yeras, obviously this is an entirely different team and I expect the Sox to beat up on them this time when it counts but ya I guess they'll always just scare me. Also I'd love to have homefield throughout as well, especially cause it'd be scary as hell to play the Angels in California more times then they'd have to play at the Cell.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) I don't know man. Our schedule is rather soft the next few weeks. If we get this thing to 11 or 12 games by the break, I think the race is over. I do believe we're going to win the division don't get me wrong there, I'm just saying I don't think you can officially call the race over even if we are 11 or 12 up which is a huge lead no doubt about that but we do play the damn twins 13 more times. Each to their own though

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) We seriously might put the division away by the all-star break. It's getting to the point that the only thing we might have to play for is homefield advantage through out the AL playoffs. Jordan, a 9 game lead is a very nice cushion but the division won't be wrapped up until september for anyone just because we still play the Twins so damn much.

The House of Cards Dilemma
QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) Maybe this house was built with glue? Haha, in April every single "expert" and almost everyone else but a lot of fans on this site thought we were a fluke but what do you know they were wrong.

Crede on Block?
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) I am glad i didn't get all down on dye's offense the first couple of months. Lot's of people wanted his balls chopped off and gave him a cute nickname ''dead'' All that i really expected from his was .260-.275 and 30 or so homers which it looks like he will be giving us. The one conceren i had about him offensively was how he has hit right handers the past three years, but i felt playing here that should change. I have to also admit i never liked his defense even before we got him. His range was just too poor to me and how he nearly plays at the warning track gets old. His defense has been piss poor... all that i ask from him is hit the cut off man. His defense has definitely been worse then I expected, he's hitting exactly the way I expected, but he's exceeded my expectations with his baserunning, he's been much better on the base paths then I thought he'd be.

Brantley: Garland is the All-Star starter
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) You have to look at ERA, WHIP, strength of schedule, run support and team success. Wins and strikeouts are extremely overrated these types of situations. Garland is the favorite right now simply because of his wins and the national attention he is getting. Based on performance thus far Buehrle is a better choice than Garland. Halladay should start the All-Star game as of this moment. You hit it on the nose, I agree 100 percent with everything you said.

Brantley: Garland is the All-Star starter
Halladay and Buehrle have been the two best pitchers in the al this year, however Halladay has been a bit better and because of this he should be the starter. As I've stated before I'd prefer neither Mark or Jon pitch in that game but I'm sure both of them will.

And That's a White Sox Winner!!!
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) Ah, one day this offseason, we gots to go back and look at the few of us who were in Garland's corner for the longhaul. Beautiful seeing him pitch so well. Keep the walks down, and he'll be Ok. I'm thinking about makin' it out to the Sox game tomorrow. Go get 'em, Buehrle! Is there really a better feeling now, 6 game win streak, 9 up and sending Mark Buehrle out there tomorrow, doesn't get much better then that.

YAWN, another win, nothing to complain about, the Man on the mound tomorrow, Twins losing, Cleveland lost. This is so boring. God, I love this team

Gagne to have Tommy John
That's to bad, I love watching Gagne pitch.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) If Marte is in there for the 9th, they better have someone else warming just in case. When Marte sucks, he is the definition of suck and he'll make a lead go away just like that. He doesn't have a game this year where he's allowed more then 1 earned run.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) LOL. Nice that OZ has some options. Can't go wrong either way, I'd be perfectly fine seeing Jon go complete I'd personally just like to see Dam get some work.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) I hope ozzie uses damaso for the 9th, he hasn't pitched much since he came back after the litte layoff, the times he's been out there his stuff has looked great hopefully he just needs to get out there to shake off some rust. It'd be a huge if we can get the Damaso of old back for the rest of this season. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) I'd keep Garland in to close it out. Well good thing I'm managing and you're not

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) Wow, Frank has the hat-trick tonight. Some bad luck for Frank, that first strikeout was just an ugly swing but the last two he's just had two beautiful pitches made by the pitchers to k him.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) This is the best I've ever seen Crede hitting. He's doing a really nice job. Pablo Ozuna is unbelievably unbelievable. I love it when Crede just pokes a ball into right field like he did earlier this game. As far as Ozuna I can't even say enough about this guy he's just been awesome.
