  1. News Flash: Mike Sweeney is human, I think.
  2. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) Bronson Arroyo taking a no-hitter into the 7th in Detroit. He definitely won't get it now
  3. Juan hits a bullet to Teahan, turns into a double play as aj didn't freeze.
  4. Usually contreras would be at 300 pitches by now. He's having one of those days where he's completely in control it looks like. Hopefully that'll keep up and the o can manufacture something against Greinke.
  5. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) Any sites that give pitch counts? Mlb.com's gameday does.
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) The control issues aren't going to go away. With as much varience as Jose has in his arm angles and his motions, it is hard to lock into the right slot on each pitch. The key is to make the off speed stuff look hittable and get hitters to swing at it. Once again completely agreed.
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) His fastball really makes that forkball unhittable. And I really like that he is mixing in that sidearm curveball in some too. Lots of arm angles and actions for the hitters to worry about. Yup, I completely agree. He still has control issues but he can pitch this year and that's what he couldn't do last year. That's the difference between this year and last for him so far imo. Greinke has another easy inning.
  8. Pauly jammed, pop out to graffy. 1 down.
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) N-A-S-T-Y Even nastier considering Jose actually throws his fastball this year. Berroa grounds out, Jose is working quick so far.
  10. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) How fast does Greinke throw? Not very hard, right around 90. He's got a very good curveball and just knows how to pitch.
  11. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) My buddy and I were VERY, VERY close to just ditiching after 10:30, and going down. There is a month left of school and im a senior, I cant take this :banghead Ya, I'm in the same boat as you. This last month means absolutely jack s***, actually this hole year meant jack s*** and I'm just tired of school, so I've been taking like a day or atleast a half a day of per week as of late.
  12. Great play by angel. 1-2-3 inning for Greinke.
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) God this is brutal, don't get out till 2:15, have to follow the game like this.... You should have went to the dentist like I'm doing right now
  14. Nice inning by Jose there, nothing was close to being hit hard.
  15. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 5, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) Maybe if he started pitching better he would get more chances in between. His last 2 outings were real good before yesterday.
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 4, 2005 -> 10:41 PM) I'm going to find my way to get out early tomorrow. I'm at a "dentist appointment" right now.
  17. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 5, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) Just so we do not lose count: Excuses for why Botch is a loser from the Botch apologists: - He is a long reliever, so when put into short inning situations, he is bound to fail. It is obviously Ozzie's fault there. - He is a starter (that is what he excels in ... cough cough cough cough ). Hence he is going to fail when asked to pitch in any relief situation. - He is still waaaaaaaay tooooooo young, so cut him some slack. - He has been under-used recently hence it has hurt his ability and confidence. This is all Ozzie and/or Kenny's fault. Major conspiracy theory here to prevent Botch from winning a Cy Young Any more? You are complaining about the 11th man on our staff who has an era under 4. Give it a rest.
  18. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 4, 2005 -> 11:07 PM) WhiteSox.com has DJ's homerun calls for Pierzynski and Crede. Crede's homer: "UHHH-OHHHHHH... TIED UP!" Pierzynski's homer: "There goes a fly ball... WAY BACK... UHHH-OHHHHHH... TWO RUN BLAST!"

    QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 4, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) When do the D-Rays come to KC? What about the yankees?
  20. QUOTE(redandwhite @ May 4, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) You don't refuse to sign somebody because of a 21 year old who has yet to start a Major League game. You can never have enough pitching, not to mention Hernandez and Contreras can't be replaced? Of course they can be replaced but before the year started it seemed like garland was replaceable also. My point is the sox weren't going to sign Jon to a long term deal when he's been an average to slighty above average with Brandon ready to go.
  21. QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ May 4, 2005 -> 10:36 PM) because i will be at school :banghead I'm going to find my way to get out early tomorrow.
  22. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2004 @ May 4, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) I agree that the Spurs should win, but it's teams like the Sonics that give them the most trouble. To beat the Spurs you absolutely have to have guys who can shoot from the perimiter. Seattle has that and then some. Also, Rashard Lewis has a history of s***ting on the Spurs. I wouldn't be surprised to see this series go seven. You're definitely right about seattle. I just think so highly of San Antonio and I think it'll be a 5 or 6 game series, that being said I wouldn't be surprised one bit if it goes 7 but I'd be completely shocked if Seattle did indeed win the series.
  23. This one definitely isn't going to be easy with Greinke out on the bump, hopefully Jose can continue to do what he's been doing all year. GO SOX!!!!!
