QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 04:45 PM) For the last years we have been hearing that the conservative moves of the Bulls was because they wanted "flexibility" for major additions in the 2014 offseason. The 2014 plan was touted by KC Johnson. That's fine if you are going to do that. Going into the 2014 offseason Kevin Love and Carmelo Anthony may be available to switch teams. The Bulls made an unserious offer for Love, and then we were told were instead going to focus on Anthony. That's fine if you are going to do that. The Bulls entered the offseason with 2 first round draft picks and a possible amnesty for Carlos Boozer. Rather than try to spin the picks off as assets, they traded both for potential backup SF Doug McDermott, and took on 2 million in the process. They, knowing Anthony would already require a discount to sign at the BUlls, added salary and used their only other assets to draft Doug Mcdermott, unathletic non-secondballhandler. They then courted Anthony without offering any money, because they were so tramautized from trading Kirk Hinrich the first time, and did not bother actually opening any salary room for Anthony. He left Chicago without a max offer. Or any offer actually. He was told to trust Bulls management. They then had plan Bs, which did not involve Kevin Love, whom is now being aggressively targeted by other teams who don't overvalue their assets. Their plan involved a 34 year old powerforward/backupC. I love Gasol, but that was not what was holding bulls back. Meanwhile we'll probably re-sign kirk, call it an offseason. It's fine that they made all these moves to preserve the possibility to get Anthony in 2014, but they aren't just responsible for not getting Anthony. They are responsible for all the other moves they didn't make because they decided that free agency is the way for the bulls to add a superstar. And that they will try to add them not by opening up max space, but by convincing them tehy are a great fit. It sounds convincing, doesn't it? At least they can convince us all that it isn't their fault. It's the players. I love you.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 02:07 PM) I can't believe my eyes right now. Let me get this straight. This is supposedly a great team (the best since Michael) even though Rose has played 10 games in the last three years, have a guy (they still haven't signed) in Mirotic that may or may not be the next Toni Kukoc, an Adam Morrison clone, and a 34-year old Gasol? Only in Chicago is this acceptable. We needed a SCORER. Why? Because WE CAN'T SCORE. 2+2=4. They failed again. #tryhard I agree with your premise but the McDermott-Morrison comparison is a bad one and that's coming from someone who is very torn on the guy at the moment. But their games are very different.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 01:41 PM) Doug McDermott is gonna be a boss anyway.... Says the guy who doesn't watch college basketball. I'm done giving GarPax a pass. Nobody knows what went on behind the scenes but I do know this isn't a championship team and their entire body of work deserves to get scrutinized.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 12:15 PM) Rolling with new young guys, Gasol on a hopefully sensible deal, and Rose is good enough for me Good enough for a great regular season and a try real hard playoff series loss.

Just never get excited about a Bulls offseason guys.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 07:26 PM) Damnit. Stupid NBA. I just realized I'm only going to be living 3 hours from Cleveland and if Melo goes to Chicago that makes driving to Cleveland for a Bulls/Cavs game a reasonable thing to do. Which means it's not going to happen even more so. Just think about how much money you'll save by not going to that game when Melo doesn't come here.
-
It'll be interesting to see what Bosh does with out LeBron there.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 04:36 PM) So, I take it Melo is going decide tomorrow (or over the weekend) so that he doesn't have to share the day with Lebron? I'm guessing some time in October.

Go check out the dunk Eric Griffin just threw down in Summer League.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 03:07 PM) LOL Rob Fee ✔ @robfee Follow I hope Dwyane Wade doesn’t play this year and just sits in the rafters of all of Lebron’s games like Sting stalking the nWo in 96. Someone needs to photoshop that.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 02:53 PM) Ken Berger just tweeted... Hey, I heard that Carlos Boozer guy can shoot long jumpers and 3s. And I'm sure Boozer has once blocked a shot in his career. Maybe.

We're pursuing Hinrich according to Woj. All is right with the world!

Ok LeBron's face turn is annoying me more than his heel turn 4 years ago.

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 01:22 PM) In basketball terms (not personal or financial), Wade would fit well How?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 10:05 AM) Looks like Bray turning on his guy, and teaming with Cena. Which would be sickening Sure does look like it but I guess he was actually trying to hit Cena there. Oh crazy Japan house shows.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 07:15 PM) Mike McGraw @McGrawDHBulls #Bulls trying to figure out how to close. If Carmelo has been agonizing for more than a week, who knows where this will go.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 06:17 PM) I don't actually know if this is new info or just slightly different excerpts all based upon the discussion SAS had with his source around 5 PM yesterday. New York Knicks Carmelo Anthony: "He said we're telling you [Melo] and his family talking about Chicago Bulls" (Interview: Stephen A. Smith) New York Knicks Carmelo Anthony: "Chicago is on his mind he said. Someone very close to Carmelo and I trust." (Interview: Stephen A. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 04:07 PM) My sources say Phil Jackson and Jeanie shared lunch today. Phil had sea urchin spaghetti, Jeanie had cold smoked salmon. Meanwhile, Carmelo and Lala also dined out. They went to McDonalds with their young son Kiyan. Carmelo had 2 BBQ Ranch Burgers, a large order of fries and a strawberry shake. Lala had a side salad and a Sprite. Little Kiyan had a McNugget Happy Meal. It is unknown what his toy surprise was but rumor has it that he wasn't happy with it. In Vegas, Lebron had lunch today by himself at the Carnival World Buffet. He indulged in pizza, several helpings of barbecue ribs and topped it off with a plate full of seafood enchiladas. Not really happy with Melo's nutrtion today, we might have to move on to a different option.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 03:04 PM) I'll start reading online stuff more when there aren't so many people. I think Brittany is super hot but can we get that chin mole removed. She's like a 7 or 8 to me. Not in the Kaitlyn or Aaryn from last year range.
