  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 21, 2012 -> 07:02 AM) When people looked at their roster before the season they said it looked stellar (that might have been you, don't remember). Yes, Billups got hurt, but they also added height since then which was their preseason weakness. Having CP3 on your roster and a low post/lob option that prevents a team from leaving the basket to challenge the midrange or driving games ought to be the setup for a stellar half court offense, unless you have a coach who simply doesn't know how to organize an offense. I'm wondering how good that team would be with Thibs, and it kinda scares me. I'VE SEEN ENOUGH, THE CLIPPERS ARE A TITLE CONTENDER. Yes, that was J4L after a preseason game I believe. Sorry Jordan, your posts in this thread just stick with me because you're so over the top most of the time.
  2. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 19, 2012 -> 09:13 PM) FOX: "Furious ninth inning Cubs comeback." Uh, no it wasn't. Would have been nice if they could have shown a good looking chick in the 9th instead of the ugly girl with the rally cap that they kept on showing...
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 19, 2012 -> 05:07 PM) Finally the voice of reason. I am so f***ing mad about Paulie's eye being closed and out a week. You wait, it will be a full week at least. This is outrageous. That f***ing bum Cub hit him on purpose. No question about it. Did he "mean" to hit him in the face? Probably not. At the time in the heat of the moment, who knows? He probably wanted to drill him in the shoulder. The media has blown this. They should be protecting one of the top three players arguably in White Sox history. THIS IS INSANE! I want revenge. Not in the face, but I want both our starters to drill cubs in the first inning. Get the long men ready, baby!! You don't mess with Paul Konerko. Hopefully Hawk will be on it the entire game. I think at this point you just remind me of a teenage girl at a Justin Bieber concert...
  4. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 19, 2012 -> 04:01 PM) Garland wasn't a fan favorite. Garland didn't have half of the pure stuff Wood had. Garland didn't come back to the organization he loved for his final stop. Garland didn't win us a world series, he was part of it. Kerry struck out 20 by himself. That's the reason he's getting attention, and his retirement is a big deal in Chicago. I think people are taking the attention to mean he's one of the greatest pitchers of all time, which I don't believe anyone is claiming (correct me if I'm wrong). Most people are actually talking about how he'll be remembered a lot for what he "could have been" which is a fair point. So people love this guy because he underperformed for his career? Once again, I just don't understand the absolute love affair with this guy.
  5. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 18, 2012 -> 07:58 PM) I think really only Greg is freaking out. But are you insinuating that it's no big deal to be hit in the FACE with an 80-something mph pitch? Watch it if you didn't see it. It sounded terrible. Another inch or so and it's maybe a Tony Conigliaro-type injury, ie., a career ending injury. No, not at all. But I am saying that there's no reason to freak out at the opponent for a pitch that most likely wasn't intentional.
  6. I didn't get to see the game but why are we freaking out if PK was hit by a high 80's splitter?
  7. The outpouring of love for this guy is crazy to me. All for a very average pitcher.
  8. I enjoyed the college experience as much as anyone possibly could but the years after certainly don't have to be a downer. It took me a while to get my s*** together but now that I have I'm enjoying life more than I ever did in cdale and that includes partying just as hard on the weekends...

  14. Ran my 2nd 5k today, finished in 24:47. Still not great but a definite improvement from my 1st.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 1, 2012 -> 06:23 PM) Work really gets in the way of my workout time. Work at a gym like I do. Problem solved.

  20. The internets is going to have to change its pants with that Over the Limit Main Event.
  21. I was there last night, it was a blast. Punk-Jericho was awesome. Bryan continues to be amazingness, and ya kyyle big time Goldberg chants last night. Fantastic.
  22. Maybe the 2012 slogan should be "Earning their contracts."
  23. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 06:02 PM) but do THOSE teams have the pitching we have? Texas does. And yes a lot of teams have weak hitters batting 8th and 9th but there's nothing like Morel and Beckham at 8-9.
  24. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:58 PM) but don't you guys get that we're only overly negative this year because of Dunn and Rios. IF - and it's a decently sized if - they're hitting well come midseason, then what flaws do we HAVE? The two idiots at 2b and 3b. I'm with you, I actually like this roster, never thought it was that bad to begin with but I know Balta is worried about the stretching out of Sale, and Humber to a lesser extent.
  25. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 05:55 PM) eh i wasn't looking and it was 7 years ago. but supports my point even better. middling, middling offense and great pitching. Our bullpen is as good as 05 and our rotation could be. plug in a resurgent Dunn and Rios, and if you're contending midseason, you have to go for it. This site is usually overly negative but as a whole we were pretty damn optimistic going into 05.
