  1. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 04:26 PM) I agree. Failing in the NL means much more. Just how long or short of a leash is Gavin going to get from you people? I give him a minimum of 4 ML starts if he comes North in a few weeks. He's twenty f***in five. He's got a lot to prove but giving up on him this f'n early in his career especially when he's pitched about 2 months here is ridiculous. And I'm done.
  2. QUOTE(joesaiditstrue @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 04:23 PM) just curious, what about all the previous years of gavin floyds career, the ones where everyone questioned his mental approach, and his first season in teh MLB where he garnered a, i believe, 7+ ERA? but yeah, he's good, this is just spring training/dead arm Every 23 year old pitcher absolutely dominates right away. And once you reach the ripe old age of 25, you have absolutely no chance of success in the Majors.
  3. And the Gavin Floyd arguments are back. As all of us who support him have said he's got a ton to prove but don't throw him under the bus yet, give him a freakin chance. He sucked in Philly but he was young as hell, no matter what, he pitched very nicely down the stretch. Give the guy a chance, one spring training start doesn't mean he's going to suck this year.
  4. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 04:16 PM) Yes. A few good outings does not make you not suck. Although he can now join Brian Anderson in the STHOF. But one spring training start makes you worthless.
  5. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 04:10 PM) Jesus, you all are pathetic. He's had a great spring entering this start and had a bad outing. Big freaking deal. Whaaa...whaaa.whaaaaa. Wake me up when the season starts. Yeup. Hence the haha.
  6. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 01:00 PM) Honestly, this year more than normal I feel there are only about 7-8 teams that really have a shot at winning it all. Memphis UCLA UNC Kansas Tennessee Texas(slight stretch) Georgetown(slight stretch) Teams like Duke and Butler can't shoot their way through the entire tourney. Stanford just doesn't have enough from guardplay. Wisconsin's defense will at least get them to the Sweet 16, but not much further. Teams like Connecticut, Clemson, Pittsburgh, Arkansas etc could suprise some people and make a run at the Sweet 16, but not much further to me. Louisville could be somewhat of a suprise as a 3-4 seed to end up challenging for the Final Four. Pretty much completely agree though I think Tenn winning it all is more of a stretch than GTown. Honestly, if I were forced to pick a team to win it all that you didn't mention, it'd be USC and that's obviously quite a stretch.
  7. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 11:00 AM) So to answer everyones question about who was the last team to make the tourney with a sub .500 record...... Coppin St. Thats for this year but still counts. It's happened at the mid major level before, I really can't recall it happening with one of the bcs conferences though. If it's happened, it was a while ago.
  8. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 16, 2008 -> 02:30 AM) Oh and if anyone gives me....oh they stormed the court, what a joke bulls***...well all I got to say is...twice in 60 years...twice in 60 years...f*** YES!!!!! I'm pretty much as anti storm the court as you can get, but when you win your conference tourny in a 1 bid league, it's acceptable.
  9. Not who I think should get in but who I think will get in if I'm taking 9 of those 15: Arizona ASU Ill State(ya, I said they'd be out earlier this week but too many other bubble teams have faltered) KState Kentucky Miss South Alabama St. Joes Nova
  10. Memphis, UCLA and UNC are good. With GTown and Tenn losing today, the Texas-KU winner has the other one.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 15, 2008 -> 07:25 PM) Ha, no kidding. I kept it on CBS due to the Gus factor. That Tenn/Ark game was great. Gotta love Gus. On a side note. If you guys want to watch some downright hilarious basketball before the big tourny, watch our NIT game on Tuesday or Wednesday. Mullins most likely isn't going to be playing, I really think we can give that 20 points that SLU scored a run. I'm not kidding either.
  12. QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 15, 2008 -> 07:27 PM) Kansas may get a 1 seed if they win tomorrow, with Tennessee going down. QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 15, 2008 -> 07:28 PM) Kansas may get a 1 seed if they win tomorrow, with Tennessee going down. I'll quote you twice . The winner of the Texas-KU game should get a 1. Texas will definitely get it if they win, KU could possibly be pushed out even if they win.
  13. It was very hard to turn back and forth between the last seconds of the UCLA game and the Tenn game. God I love college basketball.
  14. This is just me thinking out loud but with the shape of the bubble this year, the more I think about it, the more I think there might be a big time surprise who slips into the tournament, kind of like Air Force a few years back.
  15. Love has hurt his back. He's playing but he's clearly in pain. UCLA getting hit with the injury bug at the worst possible time.
  16. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 15, 2008 -> 05:08 PM) Scott Linebrink, thanks for the awkward pause with Hawk. That was fantastic.
