So Brian Anderson's hitting...
I would really like to see some of Anderson's ab's this spring. If that hitch is really gone, then we're really going to be onto something here but that seems like it wouldn't be the easiest thing in the world to get rid of.

Pac-10 Tournament
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 13, 2008 -> 12:04 AM) I know the PAC-10 is the best league in America, but there is NO EXCUSE for Arizona to have finished 7th in that league with the talent they have. They have 2 no doubt lottery picks in their starting 5 with Budinger and Bayless, a solid/versatile veteran in Jawann McClellan, one of America'a most explosive guards under 6' in Nic Wise, and Jordan Hill, another future 1st round pick, maybe even another lottery pick. I know they've had injuries, but they are WAY better than 7th in the PAC-10, and I think they could be dangerous in the big dance if they make it that far. As has been the case with Zona for a while now, they just don't defend.

Catch-All Anything Thread
QUOTE(kjshoe04 @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 04:46 PM) On Jim Rome is burning they had Adam Emmenecker from Drake on as the guest. They showed some highlights of the Drake vs. ISU game and if you paused the shot of the ISU section I could clearly see myself. I've been on FSN midwest, CBS, and ESPN now in a week. I'm Famous. Well I was supposedly on TV the whole game for our one game on Friday . So take THAT.

Vazquez to pitch opener
QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 10:47 PM) 10-9 3.63 15-8 3.74 33% more wins, fewer loses. Too simple? I'm discounting spring training for this and would regardless of which way it would fall. Wins and losses really mean nothing to me, especially with a team like last years. Buehrle had the better era, Vaz had much better peripherals. Both were great for most of the season, but imo this is Buehrle's team and he deserves to start opening day. But like I said, not that big of a deal.

Vazquez to pitch opener
QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 10:46 PM) He had one year left on his deal....it's not hard to understand. Well so does Cabrera.

Vazquez to pitch opener
QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 10:37 PM) Regardless of order, this rotation worries me. Mark was outplayed for the Game 1 start. Not sure how you came to that conclusion? This isn't that big of a deal but imo Buehrle has earned the right to start opening day. Oh well.

Sox sign Tomo Ohka
QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 12, 2008 -> 09:02 AM) I'd find a trade partner for Ohka and go with 11 guys if I was KW. Oh ya, I'm sure teams are just lining up to trade for Ohka.

CREDE CREDE CREDE
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 11, 2008 -> 08:55 PM) You never give Manny a second chance, he'll kill you every time. I was at that game. I believe Vizcaino was on the mound, he worked his way out of a jam in the 9th or 10th inning and forced Manny to pop one up in foul territory near third. The eight other players start jogging toward the dugout and Joe just drops it. There was nothing tricky about it, just a simple pop up and he muffed it. Ya, it was Viz. I was there as well and once Joe missed that pop up, EVERYONE knew what was coming.

Illinois State will be left out. I personally think they're deserving based on the "eye" test but you look at their resume and there is pretty much nothing there that says they should be in. 0-5 against the top 50 is an absolute killer.

*Official* Arch Madness Thread
Here's what we got: Thursday, March 7 Game 1: Indiana St. (14-15) vs. Wichita St. (11-19), 6:05 p.m. Game 2: Missouri St. (16-15) vs. Evansville (9-20), 8:35 p.m. Friday, March 8 Game 3: Drake (25-4) vs. Winner Game 1, 12:05 p.m. Game 4: Creighton (20-9) vs. Bradley (17-14), 2:35 p.m. Game 5: Illinois St. (22-8) vs. Winner Game 2, 6:05 p.m. Game 6: SIU (17-13) vs. Northern Iowa (17-13), 8:35 p.m. Saturday, March 9 Game 7: Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 4, 1:35 p.m. Game 8: Winner Game 5 vs. Winner Game 6. 4:05 p.m. Sunday, March 10 Game 9: Winner Game 7 vs. Winner Game 8, 1:05 p.m. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Always a real fun tournament and I'll be there for the 3rd straight year. The 1 seed hasn't won in a decade and don't expect any different this year. If I had to guess right now I'd go with a Bradley-IlSU final with Bradley getting the auto bid. Obviously I'm hoping to be wrong and would love to see SIU make a run but this team is too ridiculous to do so imo. That being said, GO DAWGS!

Official Recruiting Thread II
QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 09:09 PM) #1 in the state, HF, lost at Bloom tonight. And I want to say a big f*** you to the Proviso East athletic department. I tried going to the OPRF/WY game tonight, and at 7:30, there was a line of 500 people outside that wasn't moving. Not a single person out there was telling people what to do. I just turned around and drove home. Dillard still scored 22 though, so all is well.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 05:20 PM) This goes back to the old "is it player of the year or MVP" question. If the award is for MVP, I'd agree with Emmenecker, but if this is a player of the year award, I'd have to go with Osiris. Pretty much. Falker doesn't belong on the first team btw.

QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 1, 2008 -> 03:23 PM) We just need to take care of our business. All we can worry about. Well obviously we got to handle our business before anything else but it certainly doesn't hurt to have some of these bubble teams lose.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Feb 28, 2008 -> 05:51 PM) So... who else is drinking tonight? This will make the 7th time in 8 days for me. (yesterday was my day off drinking) Haha. You should really come to SIU man. The only day I haven't drank for the last two weeks is each Monday(everyone always has s*** to do on Monday nights). And no I'm not depressed.

College drinking
QUOTE(The Beast @ Feb 28, 2008 -> 04:47 PM) Why are some campuses having 'unofficial' St. Patrick's Day celebrations? It's a great excuse to drink all day and all night. We have one too and it was good times.
